Hi,
I wrote to Jill on the Real housewives of NY. I said I was going to do this awhile ago and finally did. Hey what can I saw I am sick in bed every weekend so this is what I do...lol One person at a time right!

Here is the link: http://jillzarin.com/press-box/real-housewives-of-new-york-city-time/comment-page-1/#comment-887

Here is what I wrote:(I'm assuming it is ok to mention the Dr's in "Under our skin" as their names are in the movie?

Hi,
I noticed on this episode that they were talking about Jill doing an event for her daughter's arthritis. This was a red flag to me. Children with arthritis can mean Lyme disease. NY has the highest incidence of Lyme disease in the country. Please get a 2nd opinion from Dr. H in NY. For more information go to http://www.lymenet.org. The current test are inaccurate you have to see a LLMD for proper diagnosis. If not treated properly Lyme disease can lead to permanent disability and death.

Sincerely,
Ann Ehlers

Write in guys...These people have a show...alot of money and hold charity events so could be huge!

'' Lyme disease is growing at four times the rate of AIDS and is quickly becoming our nation's most misdiagnosed and fastest-growing infectious disease. Educating the public and physicians regarding the disease and the progression of treatment is essential.''

Hi Ann,

I am glad you wrote to her too.

I wrote to her a couple months ago via her "Ask Jill" column in the Hamptons online magazine.

Hopefully if she hears this more than once, she will start to question it.

Hi,
Oh so glad to hear that! I always hope I'm not the only one writing in so they will take it more seriously.

Take Care,
Ann

I don't think it's OK to name the doctor. It is against the LymeNet rules. Change to his initial only, OK?

She's my favorite of the NYC bunch. I wish they would address this issue on their show. Surely it has touched someone they know and possibly her daughter.

Like you said lakes, these ladies do charity work so it would be great if they would get involved with Lyme too.

I just tried to write to her too, but my brain isn't working. I couldn't think what to say or ask of her. I'd appreciate suggestions. Maybe tomorrow I can think of the words.

That's great - Jill has such a big mouth - she would be a great spokesperson for us!

I will write in too, and mention she's my favorite housewife - I have a feeling she'll like to hear that [Smile]

Uh oh - the link to write her is "page not found" and I can't find another link.

BTW, Jill's step son also has arthritis as well as Ramona's daughter - they all vacation in the Hamptoms

Dekrator had a great idea. She said above that she wrote to Jill via the Hampton newspaper and the Ask Jill column.

I googled Hamptom Newspaper Ask Jill and found a place on the website where one could send an email to Jill.

Hope that helps.

lakes, I hope this link works:
[email protected]

Once you get to this site scroll down past her photo and there's a paragraph that explains how to e-mail her.

I am editing this to add that I just followed the link I gave you and a strange message came up saying something I don't understand about no authorization needed and it may be a trick. (??)

So, the best way to find her might be to do what I did initially. Google "Hamptoms magazine ask Jill". That will take you directly to her page at the magazine.

Good luck!

I just sent her an email with my family's brief story and asked her to use her celebrity to help advocate for Lyme.

I remember the episode two years ago when the arthritis was mentioned. My husband and I said "Lyme" aimultaneously.

hmm, the [email protected] didn't work. I will have to look into this some more. I think I am going to start a letter writing campaign on a monthly basis.

I think if they meaning, Erin Brockovich, Oprah, Dr. Oz, Reps, schools, tv shows ect. Only get a letter once it is easy to brush it to the side but if they are getting them month after month it will be harder to ignore.

Keep writing guys! One person at a time is my motto. Also, my friend said it won't change in our lifetime, we are in our 30's. I don't buy into that. My thought is it has too!

Take Care,
Ann
