Oh, when it rains it pours!

To start it off, I think I finally REALLY understand what people say when they say they're herxing, because I feel like total crap for the past several days--

My muscles hurt in a way I can't really explain, my joints hurt, I'm dead tired (I swear I was standing in a line at church and just got hit with such fatigue I thought I'd fall over), and I just feel crappy.

And the shortness of breath still comes and goes, as does the feeling that my throat is either swollen or spasming (and it doesn't seem to be related to when I take the abx, so I doubt it's a reaction).

Anyway, last night we were at a graduation party for our niece, and they had supper there.

So I took this big dollop of what I thought was Mexican dip, and I'm shoveling it in.

Next thing, I started getting a little itchy, and I noticed a hive or two popping on my wrist.

Of course, I thought, Oh crap, it's the abx.

Then I noticed the dip was full of shrimp--it wasn't Mexican, it was crab dip.

And I'm allergic to shellfish.

Thank the Lord I had thought to put Benadryl in my purse before we left home (why would I think to do that?), so I popped a Benadryl right away.

That stopped things from getting worse, but I just haven't felt right since then.

I don't know if it's just working through the herx or my body still feeling the effects of the allergic reaction or what.

But oh, I feel crappy! [toilet]

Or like I used to sing after I saw West Side Story-----

I feel sh*tty, oh so sh*tty,
I feel pretty dang sh*tty today! [bonk] [bonk]

Maybe just take the benadryl, call your LLMD and maybe

Back off your antibiotics for a while.

I hope you feel better soon.

Hugs,

Geneal

Thanks, Geneal.

I thought about backing off, but I think that's what kicked it in the first place.

I had been taking the Doxy for a few weeks, but I hadn't gotten the blood work done yet (damn insurance!).

So when I finally decided I was getting the blood work done insurancce or not, I went off the abx for a couple days to let it get out of my system a bit (don't know if that would have made a difference, but whatever...).

It's since I started up again after the blood work that I've been feeling so crappy.

My husband and older son have both been down with ear/sinus infections and bronchitis, so I half thought I was coming down with that.

But I haven't gotten any of those symptoms.

In any case, I'm trying to just fight through it; it's bad, but not totally unbearable at this point.

Sorry Lyme really stinks doesn't it? I always back off a little when i have a bad herx to give my body a rest for a couple of days and then go right back at it. Always let your doc know if it's alright mine says it's ok. If you stay on course and take some yogurt with abx drink lots of water to flush out the toxins too.

Peace

Hi

It sounds like a herx too me. If I were You I would back off the antibiotics for a few days . Let Your body clear some of the toxins.

As My old LLMD would say "the turtle wins this race, not the rabit. If You push through the herx Your body could be stressed by more kill off.

More kill off means ,more toxin, more toxin means Your body has too work harder too clear it.

One thing You do not want to happen is Your body to obsorbe (spelling) the toxin ,in your fatty tissue. That just makes more problems.

Rest ,and let your body get rid of these dead keets.I do hope You start feeling better. Herxes just suck, but You are killing of those rotten bugs, and that is good.

Be as well as You can be today

Hmm. I hadn't thought about it being bad to push through a herx.

My LLMD said if I can ride it out that would be good, but if I really feel rotten and that I can't do it, then back off for a bit.

I've just been riding it out since at the moment I'm at home and can rest as I need to.

Once I start my job this week, though, it will be different.

If I start feeling crappy again, I'll back off a bit.

And I'll definitely stay awway from the shrimp. [lol]
