Wow! I almost fell over when I opened this!

I sent a letter to Gov. Rendell about Lyme Disease Awareness Month and I got this in response:

GREETINGS:

It is an honor to join with all Pennsylvanians to recognize Lyme Disease Awareness Month in Pennsylvania.

Lyme Disease is a tick-borne inflammatory illness that can be treated with antibiotics if detected early.

Lyme Disease symptoms may include the characteristic bulls-eye rash at the site of a tick bite, fever, fatigue, headache, muscle aches and joint pain.

However, if left untreated, Lyme Disease can lead to severe arthritic and nervous system complications.

The best defense against Lyme Disease is prevention--avoid tick-infested habitats, use insect repellants, wear protective clothing, and check for ticks on your skin and clothes after spending time outdoors.

These measures are especially important here in Pennsylvania, where tick habitat is widespread.

As Governor, and on behalf of all Pennsylvanians, it is my pleasure to recognize May 2009 as Lyme Disease Awareness Month and raise awareness about the importance of Lyme Disease prevention and early detection.

Edward G. Rendell
Governor
May 2009

Bravo STARFALL!!!!

And also guess what??

Gov Ed got an Under Our Skin dvd handed to him about 2 weeks ago!!! - COOL HUH???

The legislators and their staffs are sick too we are finding out as we have gone to visit some Senators in Harrisburg recently. I too gave up my dvd while there....I still haven't received it back.

I think we will find enough supporters this time to sign on to the bill...

Keep those letters coming to your Reps and Senators and THE DEPT OF HEALTH!!!!

Hi Gail,

Now I know who you are--took a while to put the pieces together.

I've been getting quite a few responses to my letter in the Banner.

Now they want to post my contact info so they don't have to keep passing along names and phone numbers.

So I'm going to send them the York Lyme Supprt Group info too.

Woo hoo!! The word is getting out.
