I heard some Lyme doctor claim this and I thought it sounded out there, but here it is.

This would explain why we FEEL worse(more inflammation) & when we ARE unable to completely eradicate the spirochetes are ultimately MORE ill (the inflammation doesn't shut off).

Someone should show this & the studies on persistence of Borrelia to that Lyme doctor.

Hey now I feel bad, I'm sorry that you might not be fighting these buggers as hard as women do. Perhaps if you bring this study to your own Dr., he'll figure out a way to treat to compensate. [group hug]

Perhaps the antiinflammatory properties of Doxy & Rocephin explain why they help women feel better.

They help keep the inflammation in check at a more manageable level and likely reduce that awful inflammation in the brain in neurolyme, which in the confines of the skull can cause it's own damage.

This doesn't seem to be the case with Lyme, fibromyalgia, & CFS. 60-70% of the people sick from these disease seem to be female. There are studies that show this to be the case with CFS and fybro. Maybe more men refuse to seek help, i dunno.

From what I saw from that Lyme doctors blog that was the case, men try not to seek help.
