Religious organizations are extremely powerful social forces. How come I don't see more pastors, rabbis, etc campaigning for Lyme?
Has anyone sought the help of their religious organizations in spreading awareness and if they did what kind of reception did they get?

Yes, I did. When I had the screening of UOS in April I told my pastor about it. He knows how sick I have been and has seen my improvemnet in these 7 years.
He watched the film and called me right away. For some reason people have an easier time believing a movie with strangers then someone who they have known for years and who has been ill right before their eyes. Part of being human!?
He has borrowed my copy of UOS and shared it with many families. It is such a horror that we all know and live everyday, to see someone so moved to become a local advocate has been very rewarding.
John, I have wondered the same as you. Religious communities are a great resource. However, first they need to be educated and we all need to take the necessary steps to do so.

You can look for the nearest interfaith action group who is a member of PICO here.
It is a way to multiple by a 1,000+ faster.
Also there may be interfaith action groups that
have a different organizing mof=del and are not
members of PICO.

We belong to a fairly large church, and we have a Health Care Ministry.
The Director puts out information on Lyme Disease, on the Health Care kiosk, but beyond that they really don't do anything.
I've been in conact with the Director throughout my seeking a diagnosis, and there are so many in our church who are going through similar issues.
I wish I could get her to be more proactive; I'm too tired to really step up to doing that right now.
