Good morning, everyone! It is a sunshiny day here in the great Northeast. My plan for the day is going to the mail and more gardening. I have been delinquent about stretching and I am feeling it in my arms and Achilles. I will be warming up before I hit the dirt today!

Hope everyone is doing OK,
Karen

I know I usually walk Rocky today but I'm taking a break. Still recovering from cutting grass yesterday.

BTW, don't buy 4 acres of land and only own a push mower. [dizzy]

......another lyme moment..............

LOL akinwolf.....i prefered a good, quiet push mower when I had my home...but 4 acres would have been a bit much.

karen, were you able to stretch before hitting the dirt today??

Today was one of those days when I am not able to function until 3 pm. Still not able to do much yet today and it is 6:30 pm now.

perhaps tomorrow.

Not a real active day. Woke with horrible joint pain again.

Went with DH to his check up. Dr had ordered a Lyme test, Quest printout was vague, I posted a request for

clarification under medical.

Afterwards we went to see "UP". It was a cute movie. Got some laughs in.

Made a quick trip into Sam's Club for milk & water before going home to make dinner.

So tired but I hurt too much to fall asleep.

This stinks.

Geri, I am sorry that you are having so much pain. What have you found that helps the pain? Having it interfere with your sleep is not good. But you know that! Hope you feel better soon!

KAM, same with you! Seems like you have only a few days where you are down and out. That is the good news, but meanwhile you still are having them... Hope you are on the trails again soon!

Miss Pris and I went to the mail. I have been running around the house trying to get it present
able for family that has never seen it. Of course, I have piles of papers and folded laundry piles everywhere. Plus dust thick enough to write you name in it. Oh well, if they were expecting perfection, they will not find it here!

Have a good day everyone!

Aklnwlf, it would take me a week getting over cutting 4 acres with a push mower!! Wow! Think I would do around the house and have some one hay the rest for the season.

Hope you recover quickly!

Karen, As a close friend once said about my house:

"Those that care don't count and those that count don't care."

Love me, love my messy house. (Or if it bothers you that much, you can clean it for me!)

Aklnwlf, Wow, 4 acres with a push mower! my DH is healthy and has a riding mower for our single acre.

Kam, Hope you feel better soon, Rosie will miss your walks.

Rosie is a happy camper. She got to stretch her legs today.

I was on my feet for 10 min. Then got in the car and went down a dirt road to give Rosie a bit more exercise time.

I went to my old stomping grounds. They have cleared a place. You can see the trail now from the road.

Wondering if they are going to use that spot for parking eventually.

I also went down two dirt roads they created. Just a short ways.

They had some pretty big heavy duty equipment parked down the roads.

I know one homeowner is waiting to start construction on her house. She is the lot that we all cross over to get to the trail head.

Still wondering where she is going to build. Time will tell.

Miss Pris and I went to the mail in the drizzle. That is about all I am going to do today. I am tired.

Thank you Geri for the encouragement about the house. It was not perfect that is for sure. But it was at least not offensive. Piles of papers, piles of clean clothes, I hear piles are a symptom of Lyme. Well, I sure have a full blown case!

I am off for a nap...

Karen...do you find that at times those undone things undo you and other times they are not even in your frame of reference??

We had apartment inspections this week. I got the notice last week. Usually, I stress over this and want my place to be clean and organized.

I was too out of it to even care this time. But, must admit the apartment was a bit more under control than last time...even though I had piles. [Smile]

Able to stand on my feet and use the brain and vision to organize the pantry today. First time since I moved here.

Now, I know what I have in there. Not much. But, at least I can build on it now a little at a time.

Also able to be on my feet and empty out the dishwasher. Still need to put silverware away and put dirty dishes in.

But, brain is doing what I call the inflamed brain thing or feeling like it is swelling...

So going to veg now until most likely 4 pm.

Then hoping to make a trip to the forest.

I have piles of stuff too. My old house is too small, no real closets or cabinets & I'm naturally disorganized.

I went to the mailbox today and did a load of laundry. Left me exhausted! Had to take a nap.

Of course to be fair, I was up all night with severe pain. It was so bad I took a pain pill.

I hate doing that as they wind me up, then I can't sleep anyway.

I don't like the way drugs make me feel. Also, I don't like taking narcotics, afraid of addiction.

I can't take codine, I react weird to it. Had tried darvocet, it doesn't faze the pain at all.

At least I got off the couch and did something today. Trying to be positive about things.

Thursday will be a busy day. I have a Dr's appt. then my support group is having a guest speaker.

I posted an announcement under activism about it (she's my psychiatrist).

Kam - When the house is built, is there going to be an access to the trail or will it be closed off?

Karen - At least you went for the mail today. Gray, wet days leave me tired too.

Hope everyone has a good night.

1 1/2 hour outing. Not sure how long I was on my feet. Est 15 min.

Rosie had a great time. She was able to stretch her legs for about 30 min.

I sat in my lafuma recliner when I first got there and let her explore.

Geri....I wonder how they will deal with it too.

I thought it would be great to have your land back upped to the national forest.

But, it is a busy place with hikers and ATV's.

They are trying to make it a non motorized path which will help.

I have seen trails come and go around here with development. So, we shall see.

I walked 28 laps on Monday, but had to miss my "graduation" today due to sciatica. I will graduate on Friday instead!

I will still be going to cardiac rehab, but will be unmonitored during my exercise. That will make it easier!

Keep plugging away, everyone!!

Miss Pris and I went to the mail in the drizzle again today. Now it is sunny and I want to go out and work in the garden but it is humid. But I may anyway...

Lymetoo, Congratulations on graduating!! Mark never got to that point. It will be nice not to have to be hooked up every time. The group up here at the rehab exercise program are a nice group. Hope you enjoy it! I am sorry that sciatica is kicking up again.

Yes, KAM, I see the mess at times and other times it does not register. I think what happens is if I know someone is coming, I look at the place with a different set of eyes. And then it is also a reflection of my energy level.

Geri, I am naturally disorganized too. But I found when I was in Arizona that if I had the right storage, I could keep it under control. This house is not set up well for storage. We are working on it but it is slow.

You react to pain meds the same way my son does. I just go to sleep. He gets wound up. I hope that the pain is less today. When I am tired, my pain is worse. So I hope you got rested last night.

I remember the time when if I did the dishes I would have to go lie down and sleep for 90 minutes. Hang in there! It will get better.

Good night, all!
Karen

Busy day yesterday between Dr & support group meeting.

It was my 1 yr check up with the oncologist, still cancer free! Boy, was he upset about the Lyme!

He knew more than my old primary did. Was very supportive of how I was doing and he really likes my new primary.

Then DH & I raced to grab a bite to eat and get to the meeting. We had a great turnout.

My psychiatrist was speaking on CAM. She co-wrote a book about alternative medicine for mental health treatment.

She demonstrated the breathing techniques she has taught me. They do help ease the pain & relax me.

Was dead tired when we got home. Slept a little better though.

Lymetoo - Congratulations on the graduation. Losing the monitoring will make it easier.

Kam - You're so lucky to have the forest nearby, our nearest one is over 30 minutes away. Do you worry about you

or Rosie picking up ticks? I'm very nervous about getting bitten again.

Karen - Did you get to work in your garden? I hate humid weather, it makes me ache so badly.

Hoping to go grocery shopping today. I haven't been getting anything but essentials lately. Running low on staples.

[woohoo] TA DA [woohoo]

I'm done cutting the yard! So most of it hasn't been cut in 2 years..... [Eek!] but it's all done now!!!

Friday-Me and the Rock 3 miles and then.....I turned into the GRASSONATOR!!! [Cool]

Kicked some serious grass and sapling butt for 2 1/2 hours, and it's finally done!!!

I have reclaimed my property from the wilderness!

It's been a rough at least 2 week battle but it's done....for now......

Later you guys!!!

Well, I graduated! My sciatica came back once I made it back home... great.

I walked 23 laps .. and the usual.

Hope to be better by Monday... if not, I'm skipping an exercise day so I can heal.

Aklnwlf - Wonderful! Cutting saplings is really hard work. Using a push mower on the grass, WOW!

Lymetoo - So sorry to hear about the sciatica, that's a really sharp pain. Hope it gets better fast.

I shopped today, didn't get everything I needed but made a start.

Then DH & I had to go to Sam's for tires for his Forester. The tires were worn & he picked up a nail.

I still have stuff to put away, but will get to it tomorrow. There's always tomorrow, or maybe the day after!

No, walking to the mail yesterday. It was a down pour. And I went to the big city for a root canal. Not really a fun day.

Aklnwlf, kudos on getting that huge project done! There are areas of our yard that we would like to do that to. Not sure it is going to happen this year or not. Lots of hard work, but I am sure it is very rewarding to see!

Best,
Karen

I hope the root canal doesn't set you back to much karen. Sounds exhausting.

Geri...I talked to some hunters here and they have never seen a tick on their dogs or themselves.

Local vets tell me I do not need to put the tick and flea stuff on Rosie.

and they were not suggesting the dogs take heart guard monthly until after the katrina dogs came here.

They started seeing cases after that so now suggest owners give their dogs heart guard.

I keep considering moving back to CA but the tick and flea situation is one of the negatives if I do so.

I was able to get gas in the car this am and take a shower. That was about it.

Getting up out of the recliner or off the bed includes lots of oohs and ahh's today.

Guessing it is due to the 1 1/2 hr outing a few days ago in the car.

There is a garden show tour today but can't do it. Perhaps next year.

I washed dishes & a load of laundry today. Went out & got the mail. That's it.

Woke up with a stiff neck and headache is worse than usual. Feel horrid.

Just want to sleep.

Karen - Sympathies on the root canal, they are awful.

Kam - No fleas or tick problem! Wow!! We have a terrible flea problem, sand fleas come in on our clothes.

Always worried about ticks in this area, the deer wander through the yard all the time.

Geri--As for the house, I like the one that goes "My house was clean last week: sorry you missed it."

Of course, with my kids it's more like, "My house was clean 5 minutes ago; sorry you missed it."

We took the kids down to Strasburg today to see Thomas the Tank Engine.

We walked around the railroad, then went into the railroad museum--

oh, sometimes I wish I had girls so I had someone to do girly things with.

Any way, I think we walked a few miles today.

I'm waiting for my joint pain and/or neuro symptoms to kick in, but they haven't yet; just tired.

That's a good sign, right?

Starfall - I know what you mean about doing girly things, I raised 2 sons.

They warned me before I married my DH that his family only had boys. Were they ever right. Hiking, fishing,

camping, baseball & basketball, car shows and mudding. Oh, to attend an occasional flower show, instead of

monster trucks or tractor pulls. It would have been nice to not be outnumbered 3-1.

I hope you don't suffer a flare up after all your activity. Lyme just ruins a good memory.

I gave up worrying about the house, my family loves me anyway. (My DH freaks over it sometimes though.)

I'm using all my energy trying to fight the LD. Getting over that is the important thing.

Unexpected guests are camping in our backyard for few days. Overdid making dinner, can't sleep from the pain.

Going to be so tired Sunday. Oh well, it's nice not being alone all day. (DH works weekends.)

Hope everyone has a good weekend.

I'm actually feeling half decent again today.

i'm just fearing the crash.

I don't have the air hunger much at all today.

I am tired, and I have a weird pressure in my head--

not pain, but just kind of the feeling you get when you have a big yawn, only amplified.

I wonder if I'm just going through a symptom shift....

I was out yesterday evening for an hour. I think 15 min est on my feet with a rest half way.

Went out to the indian ruins and walked around. Easier walking out there due to paved asphalt trails.

Brain was still being weird. But, walking seemed to be OK. NO heavy breathing or difficulty with taking steps.

Vision has been a problem lately. Reading what others wrote is out for now.

Still not having much trouble with air hunger today (not complaining, mind you!),

but today I'm having some vision issues.

I feel like I can't focus on much.

I did do a lot of cleaning today--we have ants all over the house, and I'm trying to figure out where they're coming in and how to get rid of them without chemicals.
