Saw this on the news this morning. NECN. It said

that in Rhode Island the deer tick population

was 54% higher this year than the same time last year.

Thought this was interesting considering I live

very close to the RI border. Massachsetts never

comments on this. Atleast not that I have seen

so far.

I believe the weather is contributing to this as

we have had an exceptionally wet and cool two

months now. No heat to speak of really.

IOWA'S deep population is up as well!

our local deer task group posted their findings the other day here; twice as many as before.

they are allowing bow hunters to do this; but not that many have signed up.

in a few weeks, my cousin, aunt and her dog were all diagnosed w/LD after finding ticks eating away at them...

all in Jamestown, RI...

I live on the Massachusetts/RI border as well and everyone I talk to has noticed an increase in the tick population.

My cousin found a deer tick imbedded in her dog. Several days later, she found one crawling across her arm, luckily it didn't have a chance to imbed itself.

Makes me laugh b/c all the docs tell me there are no deer ticks in our area....how the hell did I get Lyme then?
