Got this email from Kim Komando today and thought it was fun and lyme appropriate.
Using GPS to locate your parked car
QI am at an age where orientation plays major tricks on my mind. At times, when I am done shopping, I've forgotten where I parked.
Is there a GPS device that will help me find my car? This device needs to be very user-friendly and simple.

AWe all need a little help finding our car from time to time. That's true no matter our age.
If you already have a GPS unit, you should be set.
Add a waypoint in the GPS unit before leaving your car.
Take the GPS unit with you. To find your car, navigate to the waypoint.
The steps for adding a waypoint vary.
Manually adding one every time you park can quickly become a hassle.
Some GPS units automatically add waypoints when removed from their mounts.
Garmin makes a number of GPS units with this feature.
They start around $400. Look for units featuring Garmin Locate.
I could not find a similar feature from other manufacturers.
You needn't purchase a full-fledged GPS unit.
There are GPS gadgets designed specifically to help you return to a location.

Only yesterday I lost my car in the Tesco car park. 15 mins shopping & 15 mins to find my car!
I had to push the trolley up & down 4 rows before I found it. All this with no energy & a bad ankle - Wish I'd thought of setting my sat nav - theres always next time - thanks for the tip.

I bought a spray of fake flowers at walmart for two bucks. I put them on the antenna of my car. I can easily find my car. It is the one with bright blue flowers on it. During Christmas, I had an evergreen branch on it.

This made me smile. When I was really, really ill I could not find my car in a parking garage and had 2 children under 3 with me. It was 2 hours of wondering around before I found it, in tears. It triggered some major anxiety about finding my car ever since. Better these days (12 years later), but still an issue. I need to go for the spray of flowers for sure.

I once had to have the downtown courtesy cops help me find my car. From then on, I wrote down where I parked, even drawing a little map of stationary objects near my car.

The stem on the fake flowers is wire inside. You just wrap it around and around and around. Stays on at 70 miles per hour on the freeway!

my former wife had a ribbon tied to hers for that very reason
It didnt bend in the wind nearly as much as a posey of flowers would,,,,that could snap it off under right conditions!!

I've driven to Palm Springs through the windy desert. The worst it has done is bent back and tapped the top of my car. I am really surprised that the flowers stay on and together at freeway speeds. I have had no trouble with the three different "arrangements" that I've had on my antenna. One may find it prudent to push in the antenna, so it is only as long as the flowers.
