Hi everyone. I had all this time, hoped to be here long enough to get through the fear of what if.

Now, I'm ever so glad I had tests on the ticks.

I'd have spent years wondering, as my health deteriorated even further. I can hardly wait to get in touch with my Cousin!

He, his wife and their children spend time in the yard daily where I was bitten by two ticks in about 10 minutes.

It is the most precious piece of paradise in Mountain Grove, MO....BUT! They are letting two horses pasture right up to the house...so ticks are everywhere.

I had already been so sick for so long that I'm glad this gives me something to work with. I strongly suspect I was bitten on the Yosemite valley floor while camping there years ago.

I know things now that raise suspicions about what no doctor would name. Oddly I am awake because I am having the worst lower back pain I have had in years.

I can't get comfortable. THEN I saw the lab results arrive in my email account. I guess I'm an official member now. The test for Lyme came back positive.

Thank all of you for what you do. I'm going back to read the email again. It's still sinking in. No one knows yet but me and now all of you.

HUGS, Suz

Best of luck to you as you begin your journey toward healing.

It must be a huge relief to have the tick test results back. Now you know.

I hope your cousin's family will be open to the dangers of Lyme.

Thank you for welcoming me! I MUST tell ya what happened when the Urgent Care doc who removed the first tick (48hrs embedded) started rattling off the things to watch for;

*Headahces*Stiff neck*muscle aches*fatigue, ETC... on and on, and I looked at him wide-eyed and horrified.

He recognized my shocked expression and stopped speaking, to hear the words behind my shocked facial expression.

I told him, that THAT's the EXACT list of symptoms I came to the Spine Specialist with. THAT's WHY I ended in the pre-op room for my second set of steroid injections, with a tick in my leg!?!? "How will I know?"

He looked at me blankly (Nice, genuinely caring, but so young and new to medicine) and he answered,

"Oh. I'm sorry to hear that. I'm not sure what to tell you."

He was so nice. All I can say is Thank God I saved and had the ticks tested!! I had them in my freezer when I contacted ILADS.

The only NEW symptom I had was as many as 9 (some days only 4-6) sudden, intense full body soaking sweats.

Thank God that the new doctor recognized the sweats as an issue.

I don't develop fevers. Ever! This in itself is odd. No? Lab tests have confirmed infections over the years with no fevers. Only sweats.

I haven't had a fever in like 20 years! Anyone else with this??

I am SO glad this happened!! ODD thing to say, but I just KNOW everyone in here knows what it feels like to go to a series of doctors with symptoms and go home with a new CBC and a referral for Physical Therapy.

I have been to 7 doctors in the 4.5 years since I started looking for answers.

It would have been more, but I just didn't have the stength to keep bringing this to doctors or the faith to believe they'd "fix it".

Late 2006, I was declared disbled & collected the 12 months of disablity in my home state (CA).

YES! The CBC/P.T.=The medical equivilent of a "BOOT CAMP/PERSONAL TRAINER" to just force us back into shape!

If I could join a health club and fix it all up, I'd have done it by now.

I had told Dr. Useless from the first moment of the 1st interview that I'm barely out of bed, EVER. I rarely leave the house.

If he thinks he's original, I oughtta tell him he's the *5th* one to think of this!

When I *do* have to go out, I can barely find clothes to wear because I'm too ill to keep up the laundry, etc.

Still, Dr. Usless used up a "consult" appointment, wasting more of my health insurance to give me my clean CBC and refer me to P.T. He hadn't heard a word I said.

SO...being positive for something that a doctor CAN do something with has its benefits-even it they can't do much. It's *something*.

STILL...I would love to learn how long I've had this if it's been in my system prior to now.

I really think you should consider babesia based on your drenching sweats and fevers.

I sent you a private message!

The Igenex FISH test is a decent babesia test, but false negatives still occur.

Good luck!
