Sorry if this was posted before but I didn't see it.

ilads_lyme is their Twitter id.

It looks like they're fairly new at Tweeting as they only have 9 updates from 6-4 through 6-29.

Gee I hope I have the right org. ILADS is good and LDA is bad.....right?

So if your a tweeter, let's all follow them!

Thanks
Trish

It's easy to confuse who is on what Board, but
Karen is not on the Infectious Disease Society of America (IDSA) Board.

IDSA website is www.idsociety.org
Click: Practice Guidelines; Infection by Organism; Bacteria; LD; then LD 2000 Guidelines.
You'll see all the names of the people you're used to hearing about.

Karen F.(not sure if I'm supposed to give her name) and her husband co-founded the Lyme Disease Foundation (LDF) over 20 yrs ago.
www.lyme.org
They serve on the LDF Board not the IDSA Board.

They struggled for about 6 yrs trying to get proper treatment for their son who had Lyme disease (congenital?). After his passing, they wanted to help others avoid the tragedy their family experienced.
Definitely the good guys.

cbb,

Karen Forschner, yes, it's ok to name her since she is NOT a llmd, etc.

we name LDA PRES. PAT SMITH all the time.

cbb, thank you for all your informative info above!

yes, i get mixed up every time; so i appreciate your straightening the record correct.

i will edit my above post so it doesn't confuse others.

to karen, if she may be reading this, my APOLOGIES to you; my 39.5 yr. neuro lyme fog mind gets things so confused. i did not mean to mislead anyone on purpose. my belated sympathies to you/husband on the deep loss of your beloved son. hug/kiss

bettyg,
Glad to help clear up the confusion.

Don't know when Gerberding joined the Board, but I can see some positives for her serving.

The front page of the Lyme Disease Foundation has links for the Board of Directors and for the Scientific Advisors of the LDF.

Easy to find. No mention of Dr. Geberding.

13 years and 265 posts = 20 posts a year! I better slow down. I didn't know the pace was that way. lol. [Smile] I'm amazed when I see these long-timers with so few posts.

Doesn't anyone want to hit the accelerator to beat BettyG, Lymetoo and others? It's a race!
