Is there a way to collect temp disability while being treated? I am currently STILL looking for work after being laid off in December. But now I have spinal tap and IV planned. I have an interview tomorrow and I was thinking it'd be very difficult to go through treatment while brand new on a job requiring time off, etc, besides my countless cognitive complaints. Just wondering if it is possible. Any thoughts?
Can you tell us WHY you would be willing to do a spinal tap?? I hope it's NOT for Lyme diagnosis since that is about 20% accurate for diagnosing Lyme.
I wouldn't do one unless my very life was on the line.

In order to get temporary disability, you have to have such a benefit from your job. Right now, you don't have a job, so I don't see how you will get temporary disability.
Who will give it to you?
If you are talking about filing for Social Security disability benefits, it is very unlikely that you will get these benefits for lyme treatment. SS disability benefits are paid to people who are expected to be totally unable to work for at least 1 year. I don't think you will get any doctor to certify to that.
Besides, it takes forever to get a decision on SS disabiity benefits.
