And some other energy bars do too. I am suspecting soy protein isolate, which can set me off sometimes.

Is there a funny ingredient? I am wondering if anyone else has funny reactions to protein bars.

Caffeine makes me high. Maybe since they are energy bars they have caffeine in them.

I'm pretty sure most Luna bars don't have caffeine in them (except maybe the ones with chocolate).

While they have a pretty good protein/sugar balance, they do contain sugar, so that might be it if you're really sensitive to sweets.

Personally, I keep a Luna bar with me at all times just in case a hypoglycemic attack hits.

Anna, that's what I'm going for. Maybe I'll choose a lower-sugar one. The best bar for me overall is the classic Power Bar, but I wanted to try something different.

Sutherngrl, caffeine makes me high too! I can handle a little, because the benefits outweigh the problems, but if I have too much, I'm floating around like a balloon.

I try to buy the Luna bars with the lowest sugar. My husband likes the Clif Mojo bars because they tend to have less sugar than other energy bars. Three of the four flavors have 9 grams of sugar or less, with 10 grams of protein.

I think they are also made without processed sugars so have a lower glycemic index.

check out what other ingredients are in the Luna bar. So many of these protein bars have added chromium, which makes me feel jittery, along with other vitamins and minerals.

Could be that stuff affecting you. I read all the labels before eating any sports/power bar type thing; most have added unwanted ingredients.

Good one, charlie..........hope you're feeling better these days!!!

Most energy bars contain a LOT of sugar. Check into Atkins bars.
