My son has lyme he was on 3 weeks oral Cefrin for 4 wks. Started to get signs of lyme again, asked dr for another round I got a flat out NO. Luckly, I had a copy of original RX and a friend that works at a pharmacy and filled it. He has disseminated lyme or stage 2 from the signs and he did test + on Western Blot test 6.25 was the level. Can anyone tell me how long he should take antibiotic. I am on wait list with Dr Jones in CT but I would like some opinions in the meantime. THANK YOU!

It has been proven that 3 weeks is in many cases not near enough. I can't tell you an exact amount of weeks, but once the initial dossage is up(in your case three wks) if symptoms return it means it's not gone.
This disease runs on a cycle and if my children came down with Lyme I would personally treat them non-stop for 2-4 months.
I am not a doctor, but from everything I have read 3 wks is bogus and especially because he was treated for only a short amount of time and he has progressed to disseminated Lyme you are going to have to make sure you hit it hard and for a much longer period of time.
I would also recommend posting this thread in Medical and you will get lots of responses.
You can copy it right into a new thread there or start all over again.
Good luck and keep posting. There are great ppl here to help you.
