Left all my clothes in the dryer at the coin laundry and had to drive back. Good times.

I asked my daughter if she knew where my keys were.
She said, "Ya mom, they're in your hand".

Last week, I plugged in the iron instead of my camera charger and discovered it when I smelled the hot iron smell hours later.
I left my favorite blanket at the park about a month ago. Took me two weeks to realize it.

jaolo--Lol. I do that at least once a week.
Oy, I start back to school next week after a year and a half hiatus. This should be fun, especially since I haven't been to campus 2 hours away for 6 years (they've had classes at satellite campuses near my home lately).
I just hope I don't get lost getting there!

I was making my lunch yesterday, when I got interupted by a phone call. Today, when I got to work, I discouvered I'd packed the phone instead of my lunch!
And yesterday, I "lost" my sunglasses- while I was wearing them!

Okay, this wasn't recently but Nicole's post about her sunglasses made me think of it.
Before I was dx with Lyme I was in the store one day and started to freak out because I couldn't find my cell phone. I had been running all kinds of errands that day and knew at one point I had had the phone in my purse.
It was a new phone to boot, and I was absolutely frantic, until I realized I was talking to mother on it....It was obviously in my hand.
Not knowing I had Lyme I felt really really stupid!!

On my 2 hour return trip from my LLMD appt in July, I decided to go through a McDonald's drive-thru to get a cup of decaf tea.
It was raining and it was lunchtime, so there was a line at the drive-thru.
I pulled into the line and patiently waited with my window up so I wouldn't get wet.
Slowly, the line of cars moved ahead one at a time.
After several minutes I was glad to see it was my turn to pay the lady at the first window.....
...until I realized that I had sat in my car with my window up at the place where you order from the menu, forgetting to order anything!
I was embarrassed as I said to the lady....I'm so sorry, but I forgot to order back there....could I please get some decaf tea?
Luckily she allowed me to order at her window.
I can only imagine what she must have said when I left.
This kind of lyme-brained forgetfulness is typical of my everyday life!

Well, I went out to school the other day, and I was proud of myself; I didn't get majorly lost getting there.
It was kind of hard because a lot of new places have gone up since I was out that way 6 years ago, so I didn't have the familiar landmarks anymore.
The worst that happened was I got into the wrong lane a couple times and ticked off a few drivers, but they'll get over it.
Whew! But I'm sure I'll have other chances to be a LYme-brain when class presentations come up.

I am a travel agent. last week I booked somebody on the wrong flights on the wrong dates, and another I got the name wrong. May not seem like a big deal but in the world of travel/flights/airslines it is a big deal. Every mistake is humiliating as I have been an agent for 20 odd years and should nto be making such mistakes, and the amount that the airlines charge to fix these errors come off my paycheque. I will be broke soon.. brain fog is the PITS

Went to get a tomato sandwich today for breakfast. No mayo. Ok.
Thought I'd have cereal instead. No cereal. Ok.
Tried for peanut butter and jelly. No jelly. Ok.
Thought I'd boil some eggs for egg salad. Someone ate them before I got up. Ok.
Grabbed the box of oatmeal. Someone had put the empty box back in the pantry... duh? Ok.
Ah HA! Leftovers from last night. Yep, someone ate them too. Ok?
How about cheese and crackers. Crackers were stale. Ok?
NO! NOT ok. I decided to call the someone that ate their way through the house this morning before they took off to play... and chew them out a bit...
But I couldn't find the phone.
Gave up on that idea and instead...
Fixed some green tea and was going to make some toast.
NO BREAD!
Just about the time my head was going to explode...
I looked up and in comes the someone who scarfed up all the food....
With a "to go" tray with hot stuffed peppers and 2 little chicken wings, just for me.
ahhhhhhh, how sweet... and I plum forgot I was mad.
Then this afternoon...
Was going to wash a load of clothes, no soap for washer.
Started loading dirty dishes in the dishwasher.. and realized the ones in there were clean. Couldn't remember which ones I put in dirty, to be able to take them back out.

Have you guys seen those commercials out now for some kind of support site for quitting smoking.....and it shows people doing stupid things, like not being able to put sugar in their coffee, or not figuring out how to drink from a glass.... and the premise is that they are trying to re-learn how to do their regular routine without a cigarette?
Well today I spilled two things in about 15 seconds---knocked over a full glass of water on the counter, then took a microwave mac and cheese out of the microwave, and somehow allowed it to flip in the air and land face down on the counter, spilling all of it.
Then my husband and I joked that I WAS the people in those commercials, but I wasn't even going through cigarette withdrawl! If you have seen the commercials, it's pretty funny. It's just zoned out people, making a big mess.
And earlier that day, I had driven to bring my husband his credit card that he forgot, in my PJ's, and I rolled down the window and handed him my phone, instead of the credit card.

Hoosiers, lol. Bet you didn't know they were SPYING on you to get ideas for their commercials, did you?
Tincup, lol, sounds like my house--I have a 2 year old bottomless pit who just grazes ALL DAY.
As for someone putting the empties back in the cupboard, and YOU'RE the one with the Lyme brain?
And the dishwasher. Hubby has put dirties in the clean load TWICE this week! Sorry, I'm adjusting to a kid in school's schedule, so I don't get them unloaded as soon as it stops!
Just Don, hope your week gets better. That really sucks. Posts: 1682 | From Dillsburg, PA | Registered: Sep 2008

Not able to read what the others wrote and this is not funny.
But, it is something that has been a concern since lyme and company....dealing with more than one thing at a time....or not being able to deal with more than one thing at a time.
I have so much budgeted for my service dog each month.
One month I get a large bag of food for her that last about 2 months and the next month I pay for her grooming.
Well. I went to the feed store to look for treats for her and something to mix in with her dry dog food so she will eat the heartguard stuff.
Note: my first service dog would take the heart guard stuff out of my hands and eat it.
This one will not even take it out of my hands so I have to disguise it with something else.
Bottom line is she is at the groomers now so this month's budget was spent.
But, while at the feeds store I also spent next month's budget.
There was a lady there with a breed of dog that standard poodles came from she said. Something like the Portuguese water dog but can't recall the name of it. I hadn't heard the breed's name before.
Hopefully, the food she recommended and the treats will work out.
Like my service dog her dog also has a sensitive digestion system. Rosie was throwing up again this morning.
But, I did not look at the prices of the two bags (small bag of dog food and bag of treats) and spent much more than planned.
Which will cut into my food bill.
The brain just doesn't work like it use to.
In the long run, hoping this will all work out OK.
Even though the food is more expensive than I usually purchase for Rosie, she said to use less.
It also says this on the bag. About half of what I was feeding.
And hopefully, she will not have a problem with pooping now as this will digest better for her and she will eat it.
And the bag says that there is an unconditional refund if for any reason it doesn't work out.
Oops. Throw the recipe in the trash...I best get it out just in case.
Threw it out right after I read about the unconditional guarantee...again...lyme brain not being able to connect the dots.
It just kind of scares me when I can only seem to focus on one factor instead of factoring in several factors since coming down with lyme and company.
Living in the moment with this is tricky.

PS. I also have to be careful of who I am around since my decision making isn't what it use to be and since decisions I make can affect my health.
I seem to make decisions as if I were well and still working.
I am learning, but it is a big learning curve.

What about what I just did today, which is click on the private message icon instead of the corrections one.
Then we get the message: You are attempting to send a private message to yourself - that is not permitted.
And what I want to know is why not? Aren't we allowed to talk to ourself? I do it all the time.

Elaine..
Funny one you are! HA!
Actually a couple months ago another person (female) was telling me they lost their bra too. Same circumstances.
Maybe you should write to Dr. B and ask if he will put that in his next issue of Diagnostic Hints for Lyme Disease... as one of the symptoms?
Then write to the IDSA and tell them to stop sneaking in our houses and taking our bras so they can wear them on their heads.
