Hi,
I was diagnosed with Lyme Disease in September, was treated with Doxycycline for three weeks, but have had recurring symptoms from anxiety and panic attacks to depersonalization and feelings of detachment from parts of my body.

I write here because I'm looking specifically for whole food supplements to aid my digestion issues.

I was looking for a good multi-strain probiotic as well as a daily multivitamin that has Vitamin D, Calcium, and B-complexes.

Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated,
Jared

Hi Jared,

The probiotic I use is Ultimate Flora Critical Care from Renew Life that I order through the Vitamin Shoppe.

It's not cheap, but no good probiotic is...and they are worth their weight in gold.

A good probiotic is the most important supplement you will need.

You may get more responses to your question on the Medical Questions board instead of the General Support board since not everyone checks this board.

The Ultimate Flora is very good, and so is Theralac. I have used both of them with good results.

Vitacost is a good place to find whole food supplements.

Welcome!!!

randibear,

It may seem like a silly way to put it, but...I gauge how many probiotics to take by symptoms....if you have "butt itch" you have yeast and need more probiotics.

If you have a white coating on your tongue, you need more probiotics, etc.

randibear,

My guess would be to try more probiotics in that case, to aid digestion.

Jared I know you're looking for supplication ideas but ...

3 weeks of treatment with Doxy is NOT enough treatment. Proof is you still have issues.

you need to find a LLMD. One that will make sure to test/treat for any co-fections.

you don't say the dosage of doxy you were on. 200mg a day is not a theraputic level. ...the 200mg dosage was no better than Tic Tacs.

Please get to a LLMD.

BTW print out the green booklet from http://www.lymepa.org for Tick diseases info.
