hey everyone

i will be living in florida but will be needing most likely to get to top specialists outside of florida...i tried to look into angel flight and don't have the cognitive ability to understand everything they explain or tell me verbally....

it says you have to be physically capable of going on a plane and there is no bathroom and have to be accompanied..i have noone to go with me and am not physically stable..

who uses them and how do i use them without any other way of getting to drs....i also can't get to drs to explain my situation because on a day i am cognitively so bad, i will be defenseless..

any ideas on angel flight

thanks so so much!!!!

xo

I am sorry but I am not much help. I tried using them 3 times and got very sick.

had to be grounded an hour into the flight one time and was really out of it.

The noise, movement, etc was too much for me.

Not sure how far you need to fly.

I can't recall how things worked. I think I contacted them via email.

And gave them my doctor's name. They then contacted him.

I then received email from the person who volunteered to fly me.

And we set up the time and place to meet.

I goofed up one of the time and had a lot of coffee and excedrin...because I thought it would help me handle the flight.

But, I forgot about the toilet thing and had to pee in a bottle.

I have tried wearing ear plugs and a thing that guys use at the gun range ...ear muffs to help cut down on the noise.

But, the lower sounds still got through and were too much.

it would be good to have someone with you depending on how your health is.

I took a Dramamine one time as directed because I was told that there was going to be a lot of turbulence.

The dramamine made me worse and I was pretty out of it.

I learned not to fly over the desert floor during the summer and monsoons as the turbulence came from the heat of the desert floor and of course the thunder storm going on in the area.

If I were to try it again, I would bring someone with me and I would not take the dramamine and I would go during the spring and fall.

Good look to you. I know others who have used Angel Flight and all went well.
