On Tuesday, Dec. 15, Rev. David Jeremiah said on a radio broadcast that a man died from fear of Lyme disease. The man had seen many doctors and had many negative tests, so the Rev. thinks he died because he thought he had Lyme. There is no way to prove that he did not have Lyme.

Please email him at [email protected] and tell him many Lyme patients have negative tests and that the Lyme bacteria infect the heart and can kill people. Please ask him to retract his statement that the man died from fear. He needs to hear from a lot of us.

You can find out more about this on the Activism discussion board, under the subject "misinformation crisis."

Oops! I wrote the wrong minister's name. He is Dr. David Jeremiah, not Jeremiah Wright. Big mistake! Sorry!

Who would believe that a person would die from the fear of lyme disease?

...or the fear of anything , for that matter?

There is that famous "Twilight Zone" episode...

Please write to him, carly!! There's a post in Activism on this.

Ruthanne... It would probably be a good idea to edit out the wrong name. Click on the icon next to the date that has the pencil and pad.

Click on it and then go in with your cursor and edit out the name and replace it. Then click on submit or whatever it says.

Repost from thread in Activism Section:

Although Dr. Jeremiah is the only TV Evangelist who has actually named Lyme Disease, to date, in this negative way, unfortunately, he is yet another ominous example of the "All in Their Head" preaching that has taken over numerous, high-profile TV pulpits.

The pastor of the largest non-denominational congregation in the US, located in Houston, TX has been preaching a "hypochondria mindset" for many months now, based on the premise that a person who complains of on-going, chronic illness (that can not be plainly seen by all, of course), violates God's positive thinking principles and literally "attracts negativity" which manifests itself physically in the person's life. After watching his program for about 2 minutes a couple of Sunday's ago, I became so appalled that I couldn't help but wonder if he might be secretly working for the IDSA.

The "Health and Wealth" doctrine that is popular with many right now is so dangerous that I ask you to consider a boycott of these programs and the various materials that they offer for sale to the public. Instead, please donate the money to Lymenet, your State/Local LDA, Turn The Corner Foundation or other groups that support the true facts of TBD's and work toward open treatment and a cure.

As all you probably know by now by my posts I have a strong belief and faith in God.

I had not heard abount any of this going on with Dr Jeremiah until now and I have only heard him a few times---I personally prefer Billy Graham, Bob Coy, Beth Moore, Joyce Meyer etc. but it saddens me that he and others feel this way.

It just goes to show that many are either unaware of the facts or are just too biased in their opinions to waver from their views.

The Bible is full of situations and times when people were misinformed or thought they knew the "right" ways of thinking ect...just look a the Pharisees.

Unfortuntanly all of us have been stricken with this terrible disease but I believe we have now been assigned some what like ambassabors to help others become educated.

It is so hard for people not striken with this to fully understand (even those closest to us) try but don't really get it, losing patience afterwhile ect...

That ole saying .....you don't know what someone is "feeling" are going through until you walk a mile in their shoes sure ring true here..hum

Well, guys guess we gotta just keep trucking and just keep trying to get the word out.

Good luck to all and God Bless.

oh I wrote him an e-mail.

Hello Dr/Rev Jeremiah,

I just wanted to write you an informational letter regarding the information stated on December 15th about a man dying of the fear of Lyme Disease.

I am 20 with Lyme Disease and have been being treated for the last 2 and a half years (Diagnosed at age 18), but it was believed that I
contracted Lyme Disease in between the ages 8 and 10. Unfortunately,Lyme Disease manifests in so many different forms and in conjunction
with the potential of multiple co-infections. Lyme disease is also known to trigger Fibromyalgia, Rhuematory Arthritis, Strabismus, Lyme
Arthritis, and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. You can also have irreversible damage in instances where the infection has manifested for an extended period of time, most commonly in the muscular and
central nervous system (this is my story unfortunately).

Common reasons for a False negative test:
- The bacteria is present but not able to be detected, perhaps due to
changes in diet-example cut out sugars.. this starves the spirochetes.
-recently taken antibiotics
-recently taken anti inflammatory medication
-most commonly the antibodies are bound to the bacteria and there are
not enough free antibodies to be tested.
-if the victim is immunosuppressed they could not be producing the
antibodies in which the test is looking for.
-Borrelia burgdorferi can cause the genetic make up of the cells
change and prevent them from making the antibodies.
- Also all bodies do not respond the same way and the particular
person may not be creating the correct "bands" to be considered
positive.
-Spirochetes are deep inside the host tissue, and not in the blood.
-Bacteria can be in a dormant phase
-Lab tests are not standardized for late stage disease
-Surface antigens change with temperature

my website has A LOT of information on Co-Infections which cause equal
and sometimes greater damage.
http://somethinginbetweenthelymes.wordpress.com/infolinks-resources/co-infections/

I found your broadcast on December 15th ungrounded and offensive.
There are thousands of us that suffer, and have been suffering for
years through treatment and unbelievable pain. Saying the man died
from fear of lyme disease is calling him a hypochondriac, which is a
word unfortunately Lyme victims know all to well. Think, and Research
before you speak.

Sincerely,
Lyn

Thanks to everyone who has written Pastor Dr. David Jeremiah. I have not heard anything back from him as I had requested. I have also been in contact with others who have not heard back.

I have listened to the first few minutes of most of his broadcasts since Dec 15, 2009 and have not heard a retraction...also no retraction on his website.

If you have not seen this post before and written please consider writing to him at:
[email protected]
or snailmail at
