"Romper, bomper, stomper, boo. Tell me, tell me, tell me do. Magic mirror, tell me today. Did all my friends have fun at play?"
With the chant spoken, the Romper Room hostess gazed through the empty mirror frame and recited the names of the lucky children whom she pretended to see watching the program (a different list of names each day).
For example, "I see Tommy and Susan and Hannah and William and Mary and all you boys and girls out there."
Of course, the hostess really couldn't see the children, but to the kids at home, as they listened for their name to be mentioned, they knew that they were someone special, at least in the World of Romper Room.

And what others have to say.
No playing yet today. But, I was able to get food in the house which always makes me happy. (I am a grump when there is no food and no money)

Tincup,
I loved Romper Room.
My first name was not common back then, so I always sat in front of the tv waiting to hear her say it, but it didn't happen.
In my world today.... I am hopeful that I will continue to get better.
Christmas was very nice, with some typical family stresses. It was very fun with our grandsons, ages 3 and 6.
Those little boys create so much joy.
I am grateful for many things. My faith in God grows deeper everyday.
I am fearful because my son is going to Iraq in April for 1 year.
I am fearful for people close to me who I am sure have lyme...some who are quite sick and others not.
I try to just let God guide my life. I try to listen to what He wants me to do in my life.
I wish all my friends here at lymenet a happy and healthier 2010.
Thanks for the memories of a great childhood show, Tincup....those were the good old days.

There's something so nice about getting together once a year regularly with folks - for me, it was on Friday - we pigged out at the table, and then sang and played music all day and nite into the wee hours, whatever people wanted to do, whatever they brought.
I think it's important for us to find a way to include some fun activities - whatever that is.
Even if it started with watching a little kids' TV program a looooong time ago... -

I was luckey, I found a doctor that was covered by insurance. I did 10 months Rocephin IV's daily, along with bottles of ABX'S. I feft good so we took a trial peroid off. Disaster struck. Started the Doxy IV's again, along with Vancomicin IV, and more bottles of different ABX'a again. I had to keep working to keep the health insurance, so I got Flexeral(muscles) and Percoset, basically oxycottin. After two years of further degression, I felt like a chemical waste dump, so I stopped everything. I,ve had about 6 trips to the hospital, including an accidental overdose one day when I was alone. I've been on SSDI for over a year, as the Lyme symtons cover all the Cronic Fatigue symptoms. 12 to 26 hours of sleep usually make me feel prety good for a couple of days. I'm a "lab rat" buthave fo choice. I am getting by, but can no longer drive and my memory is shot. Maybe I'll forget what feeling good is, and go from there.

Happy New Year!!!
I remember romper room as does TxC, I'll let him tell you his story later. He is still sleeping we've had a rough couple of days.
It has all turned out... some of it great and some not so good, but we made it home in one piece.
TxC, had to stay at the VA [very kind group of ducky types] hospital for a couple days. He had a scary heart test where they chemically induce the beginnings of a heart attack, and then give an injection to stop it.
He was blessed to come thru it w/ only the slightest of pressure at the top of his stomach from the increase in BP and rapid blood flow. They monitor the Vets very very closely w/ this test.
We wont know much for a bit,but they'll get around to it. They released him to go home after the test [we left the day after, because it was blizzard-ing Wednesday the 30th].
His knees are going to keep him wheelchair bound for awhile...I'll let him explain what is known so far.
When we got to Salt Lake on the 29th,my ride, our dear friend, was at a different hospital,w/ a 'surprise attack' of first grandchild being born several weeks early.
Baby and Momma are fine, at last report and just went home yesterday!!! I got to see a cell phone pick of the little guy...just adorable!!!
The friends Bro'-in-law, came and got me...it took quite awhile to get home to friends Sisters place, snowing really hard, slide offs on the road. But we made it!!!
Haven't seen these folk in prolly six years so that was interesting. They have two huge cats, hilarious characters, and a turtle w/ a cleaning fish [don't know the fishes breed name].
It was a box turtle, good sized,he likes to rearrange his aquarium at night... I kept hearing odd noises, and was alone for several hours the second night.
Upon checking,I saw him in the bottom of his aquarium butting this three inch by aprox. two inch rock around,
...and moving the gravel and sand in his aquarium. He'd work a bit, then swim up to his sunning rock, under the mini heat lamp.
[The VA hospital in Salt Lake doesn't have a place for spouses and family to stay as of yet. A project we've been assured they are working on,which wasn't of help to me on the 29th and 30th of Dec.
...One hopes they will get something built and soon].
We came home to some news that wasn't the greatest about a huge medical bill we've been working on... a discouraging way to end 2009, but we are hoping 2010 will be better, and we will get healthier.
TxC had some news from SSD which may be very good... we'll know something in Mid January...
A Happy and Healthier New Year to All in Lyme family!!!
