I haven't posted here in a long time as for a few years now I have been taking care of my husband who has late stage lyme and I was recently diagnosed (back in May) myself.

Before I start this post, I would just like everyone to know how grateful I am for all the info that is provided on this site. It saved my husband's life. I know he would not be here today. For that I am forever grateful.

We did receive some bad news yesterday from his eye doctor. He told him that he is out of the "window" for any improvement and that the vision he had left in his "good" eye was deteriorating. It appears as though he has developed glaucoma in his better eye. He is unable to take more aggressive medicine as his liver function tests are not good and his platelet count hovers around 80 to 100. He is 42 years old has been through combat and back and it is this disease that got him with no doctor to help him for about 2 years.

Sorry to vent. If anyone knows of anything else we could do or any particular specialists for the liver, platelets, and the eye that know about lyme would be appreciated. We don't want to give up.

Thank you for listening.

Kristin

Very sorry to hear this. Have you considered Rifing for treating the Lyme??

I would get some high quality mangosteen for all 3 problems.

So glad this site has been a lifesaver for you two!

For the liver, perhaps coffee enemas (or what I prefer b/c it's easier- Xeneplex suppositories- they contain organic coffee extra + glutathione + a bit of EDTA).

Milk thistle is reportedly a well-known liver supporter that is recommended by many LLMD's and by others here.

In general, for CNS myelin sheath protection and overall detox b/c of its methyl (CH3) donation, you may want to consider methyl B-12 (aka methylcobalamin) injections. My husband gives them to me in the rear/hip area, but many people do it themselves in any other "fatty" area. Very little pain as the needles are quite small. Love that stuff.

Feel free to PM me if you want more info on where to obtain the latter.

Hi - I agree with Lymetoo about trying mangosteen juice for the eye health. Some people respond and some don't. It's an anti-inflammatory antioxidant juice. We had a couple threads on it recently, called Mangosteen.

Am pm'ing you about an eye doc.

Have you tried pycnogenol -- pine bark extract -- or bilberry. Both are specific for eye problems. Also the herb Stephania per Buhner in the Healing Lyme book -- available from Woodland Essence.

Marijuana has been suggested for glaucoms and has recently been written about as having some antibacterial properties. You can do a search on here for more info.

Has he been treated using antiparasitics? Salt/c and antiparaitic herbs have saved my life.

Parasites and worms can play a MAJOR part in Lyme disease and can affect eye sight. Check

There is a great book on liver health titled "The Healing Triad."
Used to be called "Your Liver...Your Lifeline".

Shows you how to effectively help all 3 lobes of the liver.

www.drjacktips.com then over to his book site from there or search www.amazon.com
