I get the strangest sensation that I am moving sideways when I am walking or moving forward in a car, sometimes even when I just move my head. It can be very disorienting. Does anyone else have this sensation? Any idea what causes this?

It's probably some inner ear involvement, common with lyme. I just read that the only abx you are on is doxy. (Good in that sometimes vertigo can occur from minocycline, zithromax or biaxin. So doxy is the best for you right now.)

Are you also taking some liver support? That is essential for your ears, too. MILK THISTLE is the most common one recommended by most LLMDs who suggest supportive supplements.

GINGER capsules should help with the inner ear sensations. MAGNESIUM, too.

Be careful about driving. If this happens when you just move your head it will likely also happen when something crosses your field of vision &/or when you move your eyes.

Get the rest you need for your body and for your eyes, and ears. Until this clears, you should not be driving. As inconvenient as that can be, I know that in just the blink of an eye the inner ear can literally have your body thinking its doing flips. Be very careful.

This will get better but, for now, I hope you can and will avoid driving. You might ask your LLMD for a referral to a LL PT or OT who does VESTIBULAR REHABILITATION. Be sure they are LL (lyme literate) as I've had some awful session with a PT who had no idea what all I was dealing with regarding my ears (due to lyme).

Qi Gong may also be excellent. Tai Chi requires too much turning of the head and neck and I had trouble with that but Qi Gong and the DVD "YOGA FOR THE EYES" has been helpful.

Still, treating lyme will be the ultimate relief. This other stuff will help you along the way, though.

I get this as well as a feeling of being "pulled" to the left, whether standing or sitting.

It has lessened w/ treatment, but is still here, some days worse than others.

I def have inner ear involvement and was misdiagnosed w/ Meneire's Disease and then Migraine Associated Vertigo.

Oooh. I had that so bad.

Always a pull to the left (at least that is what if felt like).

I felt like I physically compensated for it by leaning to the right.

It was exhausting to walk from one room to the other.

I did not have vestibular involvement.

Babesia treatment actually helped make this go away.

Hugs,

Geneal

Yes, I do but have found nothing that helps. There are some days better than others but its always there. Wish I had an answer for you.

My ears seem to be my problem , ring 24/7 I feel off balance but when I walk , ride or move seem I am one sided.

Been this way for years its so hard to deal with.
