I need any and all information I can get my hands on regarding free medical flights to go see a dr - names of places that offer them, addresses, phone numbers, websites, referrals, contacts, etc.
If anyone here has any information at all, could you please send it to me.

I don't have any info for you on medical flights. But I've been wondering where you have been?
I even sent you an email a couple weeks ago. Rene and I were discussing you and both were worried because you seemed to disappear.
How is your dog? I remember you were coming up to Louisville for new doc appt and your dog got sick.

Thats great info! Right now many airlines are offering big
discounts if booked early. Starting at 49.00 for
some. One here last week was offering to Chicago
for 59.00. The economy is so bad they had rather
make some money than no money.. So shop around. I
could not buy gas for that.

I'm so sorry I've been away from here for so long, Pam, which left you wondering what's been going on with me. I hope I didn't cause you to worry about me too much. If I did, I apologize.
I don't remember ever getting an email from you, but I really haven't been checking my email lately,on a very regular basis either, until recently, because I've just been way too sick to do it.
Thankfully, my dog is just fine now. That's one less thing I have to deal with now, for sure, and my plate is already so full, as is.
I'm still not so sure about seeing that dr in Louisville. The lady I spoke with, who answers the phone for his office, wasn't very receptive about answering some of my questions, when I called there last. That alone left me to wonder if it would just be a waste of my time and money to see him, which I just can't afford to have take place. I'm thinking about calling his office again though, just to see if I get a different response, thus a better feeling about possibly going to see him though. My memory is so bad, right now, I can't even remember his name nor the name of his clinic (I think it has a name, if I remember correctly, anyway). I do remember writing the information down somewhere though, but I haven't been able to find it. Do you remember any of that information?

I'm happy to read here about your support group meeting going so well. The time and effort you put into it paid off, which I think is great. I hope the next one you have is even better. You should have it listed in the "Support Groups" section here, if you haven't already. You never know how many people in your area might contact you that way, which could allow it to really grow.

Before I posted about it here, Keebler, I did search for free medical flights via google. The problem is, I was very overwhelmed with the large amount of information I found, which lead to me being confused as to where to even start finding the right one for me. That lead me to make my post here, as I thought someone here might be able to help me narrow down some of my options.
Thank you for giving me the link to one to get me started though. It looks like one of the best ones too, so I plan to contact them soon. I say that because I think it appears to me it may actually be a clearinghouse of sorts for alot of them.
If I'm right about them, then that could be a very good thing, since so many of them do show up, when searching for them via google, thus they could possibly help to simplify the whole process for me. At the very least, I hope they'll be able to help me try to narrow down some of them, if any, that might be able to help me.
Contacting each and every one of them I find searching for them via google seems like such a daunting task, especially with me feeling so sick, right now. From what I've learned about them though, they don't all operate the same, but I hope and pray I can easily find one ore more who can help me.

I do remember seeing "Angel Flights", when I was searching for them via google. I'll be sure to to do that again soon to get the information I need to contact them, then do so soon.

Unfortunately, I live in a small town, which has a very small airport. I'm actually surprised we even have an airport at all. They don't offer many flights with very many major airlines though. What they usually do is charter you to a bigger airport, which is expensive. That's the problem with me getting from my small town to a bigger one, especially when it comes to cost.
I'm still going to check into the information you've given me though, because like you said, with the way things are, you just never know, unless you try and find out.
There are a few bigger airports within approximately anywhere between a 2-4 hour driving distance from me though. If I could find a resonably priced flight through one of them, then find someone to drive me there, that might work for me. That is probably my best bet, as far as cost is concerned.
I'm not too far from Louisville or Lexington, Kentucky nor Nashville, Tennessee. I'm a little farther away from Cincinnatti, Ohio and St. Louis, Missouri though. Those are the bigger airports I have in mind though.
Either way, I hope and pray I can easily come across what I need and soon.
I noticed you're located in Kentucky. What city do you live in? I'm the founder of and run the "Tri-State Lyme Disease Support Group for Western Kentucky, Southern Indiana, Southern Illinois, and Other Nearby Areas" support group. It's listed here under "Support Groups". I run it, mainly, via phone, even though I've met, individually, with several people in my area who've contacted me. My phone number has changed though, but I've recently emailed a request to the webmaster here to update it. I just looked today and it hasn't been done yet, but it should be taken care of soon. I actually get anywhere between 2-5 phone calls per month from people who are living in the areas I serve, although I've been known to receive some phone calls from people living in other areas also and always try to help them too, if I can.
Would you mind to send me a private message and let me know about the dr(s) you're seeing now or have seen in the past, which are/have helped you to treat your lyme, as well as any bad/good information you have about them? That may very well help me find the right dr(s) I need to see.
Even if you're not seeing any dr(s) close to you, would you mind to send me the same information about the dr(s) you're seeing anyway? That may very well help me too, since I'm willing to travel as far as I need to, in order to find the right dr(s) I need to see. I'm, seriously, considering relocating also, if that's what it takes for me to find the right dr(s) to treat me, as well, thus I believe any dr(s) information you can give me could be quite helpful to me.

Thanks for the link, Pinelady. I checked it out and it does look like they have some really good deals. I don't think any of them will reasonably work for me though. All of the major cities are just way too far away from me.
I'm going to click on the link again though, just to see what information, if any, it will give me, using some of the bigger airports, if possible, which I mentioned in my first reply to you, that are much closer to me.
Surely, I hope and pray anyway, there's something out there I can find, without a great deal of effort, that will work for me.

I have been to Tell City, IN many times to visit a friend of mine there and have always flown Continental from Newark, NJ to Louisville.
If I remember correctly, that's not too far from Owensboro. Continental has direct flights and flights with a plane change, usually in Columbus.
I know it's not ideal and can still be pricey depending on the time of year, but I've gotten some of those flights for under $250 round trip.
If you fly into Newark, you have your choice of a few LLMD's here in the NY/NJ/CT area.

my husband is a general aviation pilot.
he has ofen told me that some of his friends make charity courtesy flights for people who have terminal or chronic illnesses and need to get to see a doctor or specialist.
you might want to call your local city airport and see if any of the pilots do this.
we've got several "angel flight" pilots here and they might have some around you.
worth a shot.

I can't read what others wrote. I tried Angel Flight..found them very good.
But, the problem I had was my health was too low to travel via the plane...the noise, movement, turbulence...etc caused me to be grounded an hour into the flight and lay on a hotel conference room for hours before I felt human again.
Looking back..I think it would be better to book the flights in the spring and fall...as I was flying over the desert floor and experiencing the heat of the desert which caused the turbulence.
Another time the last hour of the flight was in a monsoon.
I also learned I do better if I am back on the ground before 10 am or if I take off after 3 or 4 pm as my health seems to do better at these times.
Bottom line is it can be tricky figuring out what works for you.
