I just heard that NY patients were traveling to CT malls to get signatures for the CT Lyme petition. Holy cow on that and bless their little pea-picking hearts!
BUT.. I think everyone in CT should give themselves a break this weekend and go to the malls ... and while there get signatures on the petition!
Oh, not a mall fan? Me neither. How about a baseball game or a soccer practice.. or a visit to the local library (you nerd you)?
I heard it is sooooo easy to do... you just have to say to folks passing by, less than 10 little words ....
"Want to sign a petition to help Lyme patients?
And they come running to do it!
Just print out copies of the petition and take them with you wherever your travels take you!

This petition is a huge issue. WE can't let the IDSA guidelines remain the standard of care. They say chronic Lyme doesn't exist. I don't know about you, but I get a little anxious when people tell me I don't exist - and can't get more than 4 weeks of antibiotics.
We New Yorkers will be at the Stamford Mall on Sunday afternoon to get petition signatures.
If you can't meet us there, one other suggestion is to get signatures at the Post Office. Anywhere where people stand on line is perfect. You just go up and down the line, ask them if they live in CT, ask them to sign a petition to help Lyme patients, then send your completed petition to the address on the bottom of the petition.
When we petitioned last week in CT, almost all the CT residents we approached signed the petition. Ellen

Hi folks, If you hear about a small group of very tired looking people wandering around the Stamford Mall in green t-shirts, that was us.
Almost everybody we approached signed the petition. The words Lyme disease made them stop and listen. Most of them had stories of friends who had been very ill or died from Lyme disease
One of the problems we've had in getting listened to is that we don't really have accurate statistics on the incidence of this illness. If we had the time and energy to approach everyone in Connecticut, I bet we would get almost all of them to sign. While it might not show the incidence of the disease, it would show the widespread popular recognition of how seriously under-rated this epidemic is.
Please do whatever you can to make sure we can reach as many CT residents as possible. Reach out on Facebook. Write to old friends. If you're in CT or a neighboring state , spend a couple of hours during the getting people to sign your petition. The petition can be downloaded and printed at http://www.lymedisease.org/activism/petition.html Ellen

Hi Lori, Thanks so much for doing this. If you are able to petition in Connecticut that would be great. I've never found it so easy to get people to sign. Everybody seems to know someone with Lyme disease. You can go to any place where there are a lot of people and ask them to sign.
