i am seriously feeling SO hopeless right now. i have honestly been singing "all i want for christmas is some zithromax" in my head all night!
right now i'm on doxycycline because my insurance covers it, but it makes me puke unless i eat my body weight in carbs. it doesn't seem to help me that much either...
i was on zithromax a few months ago though, and i remembered what it felt like to actually feel GOOD!!! i had completely forgotten, as i've been sick for over 7 years. i had one of the best days of my life on zithromax... i couldn't stop smiling, because it was so amazing to not feel like i was dying anymore. i was the happiest girl alive that day!
zithromax is over $200 though, even with help from my insurance, and i just can't afford it. i keep telling myself that eventually i will be able to save up for some more, but more and more bills and expenses just keep coming.
i'm so discouraged, because i know i would feel SO much better if i could get my hands on this stuff again. i almost wish i wouldn't have felt so good on it, because now i know what i am missing and it is torture!
i know there's nothing you guys can do for me... i guess i just need some encouragement

I have 7 I can't use, but probably not enough to help anyone.
I hope you can find a source of more.
Take care, diana

I can't believe it costs that much. Is that the generic price?? We get ours under our prescription plan for $5. I can't imagine that our insurance company would pay that much for generic.

Others have used online pharmacies to purchase medications when they could not afford the out of pocket cost here. It might be something to consider. Try running a search under the Medical Question section.

Harriet Tubman is a nickname I was given by another Lyme Friend.
If only, now just wishing here of course, there were a way to keep lists of all the extra meds people had they were not using, and the ones people needed they couldn't afford, and then HT could email those people and match them up.
Kind of like a dating service, but a service for Lyme patients in need.

Do you know anyone that goes to Mexico to buy prescriptions? Or if you know anyone going to Mexico on vacation, you could ask them. You don't need a prescription to buy it there, and I'm guessing it's cheaper. Or try online pharmacies.
I have never bought it that way, but I know some people do. Wish that med was cheaper. I like Zith too.

you guys won't believe what happened!!! i still can't...
my uncle was outside, and out of the blue a man came up to him and gave him a discount prescription drug card... he had no idea why the man gave it to him, so he put it in a drawer. my aunt found it after i talked to her about how horrible things were, and she offered it to me...
well, i took the card to the pharmacy today, and they said i could either use the card, or my insurance, but not together... they ran both of them to figure out which would be cheaper... turns out that if i used my insurance, i was going to have to pay $300, but if i used the discount card instead, i only had to pay $80!!!!
i can't believe it... this card never even expires!!! so i can get this medicine EVERY month!!! it is going to help me SO much! i'm SO excited to finally be able to afford a drug that actually helps me!!!
also, relatives are giving us enough money to pay off all the debt we've racked up from my illness so far!
i have been praising God all day! if you're feeling hopeless, don't give it! keep praying and have faith... God WILL come through! seriously... things seemed like they couldn't get worse, and then the sun came out! just remember that everything can change in a second!
oh, and yes, the generic version of zithromax IS that expensive. even the pharmacist commented on how crazy the price is!
tracy, i wouldn't know how to go about it... but that's a great idea!
and i'm so sorry just don... hang in there! if it worked out for me it can work out for you too!!!
