This thread is about not giving in to this disease. It is about not feeling guilty because we are not running marathons, but celebrating the activities that we can get done. Of moving our bodies. Use it or lose it!
We have some regulars that are struggling right now. It is OK to give our bodies the needed rest. But as soon as you can, get up and get going. (That is my guilt-free encouragement). And for those who can keep going, we are cheering you on!
So what can you do today?
Best, Karen

Able to take Rosie to the dog park this am. Est 20 min. I just enjoyed being able to be there and soak in some morning sun while slouching in the chair near the entrance/exit.
Wasn't up to walking on the trail this morning. Perhaps tomorrow.
I recall coming in from taking Rosie out to toilet in the power chair and not being able to put her leash away, my keys away, set my glasses down. I would be so exhausted and the brain so drained.
So, it felt good this am to be able to walk from the car and put things away while on my feet. Slowly improving.
Resting now and then breakfast.

Kam... thats awesome 20 mins. glad to hear you are improving from last weeks down.
Me... Took the boys to the Yellow River Game Ranch early this morning before it got steamy hot out.
I felt like Snow White and Mary Poppins all at the same time. It was so much fun feeding the deer on the trail and they followed us through out the park; we fed squirles peanuts from our hand.
So many animals to feed, it was great!
Tired and sore now but worth it.

For me yesterday was such a bad day. The pain was horrific. But when I woke up it was back to normal. Hubby and I actually took the kids to the beach. It was so nice there. pretty relaxing. I just sat in my chair and watched the kiddos. We went for about 3 hours. Back now and I am pooped!

Hi Kam, instead of a blue bird, there were peacocks and white doves, chickens and ducks walking around awaiting crackers and other birds not sure what they were.
merrygirl...No there are not any ticks on us. The beach sounds like fun. I'm jealous.

I cruised through the rodeo grounds recently and once again was in awe of the trailers that included a place for people and a place for the horses all in one and the portable paddocks.
Where do I sign up??
Don't want to do the rodeo thing but would love to be out on the trails on horseback.
Just dreaming. I don't think I have what it takes to get on a horse yet. I know the grooming and putting a saddle and tack on is out.
one thing about this condition is it slows you down enough to get to know more about what you would like to be doing.

DEER??? EEEK!!! Glad you're OK, Diane!!
I did 40 laps today and 10 min on the machine.. woohoo.. 4 min of arm cranking and weights.
Talked to Paul Revere's wife and found out she used to have a Marilyn Monroe act in Vegas. That's how they met 25 yrs ago. I'll bet she was great!

While channel surfing saw a info commercial for treking poles. Person said that it works out 90% of the body instead of (can't recall)% if just walking.
Makes sense. When my arms are stronger, I have used two sticks to trek along for a bit.

All of this talk about beaches and swimming is making me jealous!
I was out bright and early to transplant and plant some more perennials. I am almost done with them and then it will be back to weeding. I find that when I am using the shovel, I am much more tired than the other yard work. I felt like I was deflating after two hours of work. I even napped for the first time in a while.
Glad I made today's supper yesterday!
Keep going every one! Karen

Very interesting, Lymetoo! My husband and I are not listed. For which I am glad. But my son is on there. There was no info on him except where we used to live in Arizona, with an aerial picture of the house! Wonder how someone ends up on that? I did find an old elementary friend in Florida. I was amazed at the info listed about them. etsy.com is a site I can get captured by for hours.
KAM, I am glad that you feel stronger and that you were able to get a change of scenery.
Today it is raining so it will be inside work for me. There is plenty of that to do since I have been outside so much lately. My right shoulder did not like the digging I did yesterday.
Have a good day, every one! Karen

Loved reading all the posts!
Chuckled over Paul and Marilyn too.
Wednesday-Cut grass (one gas tank's worth) and am getting ready to head for my 2nd day at my job.
The data entry position is hard as all get out!
7 hours of data entry and I had 2-5 minute breaks.
We can take 5 minute breaks every hour and I still have to figure it out.
Am gonna try to hang in there until I can find something easier.
Sure am tired though. Trouble getting used to 2nd shift work.
See you all later!
P.S. Forgot to mention that I got stung about 10 times from bees? that had a nest in the ground while cutting grass. Took some naproxen, used benidryl creme and am using an ice pack.
It's gonna be one of those days.........

hmm..interesting to see how things go with the bees. i recall at one time my lyme doc suggesting a get bee therapy!
I did talk to the lady about it but it was too far for me to travel. I don't think it is the same if they sting you at random. I think you need trained bees or a bee trainer. HA!
I use to do data entry. My brain could not do it now. Good you are taking those breaks every hour.
Doing laundry here. Just put 2 load in dryer. it is exhausting me but glad to finally be able to do it.

Did my laps (40) and talked with "Marilyn" .. won't divulge too many details about the two of them since they do have private lives and they certainly don't know I'm writing stuff here about them!!!.... She's really nice and we had a good conversation.... OH>.. back to my exercise...
Did the weights and the arm cranks and of course the fun machine... 10 minutes there again! woohoo!
Also met Paul and felt like a nut introducing myself to him... esp since I didn't even say my name!~~ duh!! (Like he would want to remember, anyway!!)
Anyway, he told me to come to his show and go down memory lane with them!

I have been a skydiver for 17 years and that hobby was put on hold when the Lyme physically wrecked me last year. My goal this year is to compete in the US Skydiving Nationals in September and hopefully, take home a medal.
Why am I telling this? Our first team practice was last weekend and it felt good to be back in the air. That is what I did and yes, I am still tired.
The only way to get back on that podium is to keep getting better each month.
That is my goal.

hi all
no real exercise except daily living on this trip
vet was great-kris doesn not have congestive heart or problem with heart or lungs but is in worse pain than i knew and has been walkin on knuckles of his left back foot instead of on the pad and he doesn't seem to know it so his neuro stuff is getting worse
he has been on aspirin and cosamine (just like me) so now we are adding tramadol and neurontin (just like me-except i don't need those two very often)
i wonder if i could give him fish oil---that is a major help for my pain
anyway-hes ok. now eating great. sleeping a lot. i haven't had time to walk him so don't really know about his energy level
my pcp appt was good too. big drop in my high lipids (thanks tutu about the E)
she also gave me a new PY order cuz carrying kris so much has put my SI out again
and she has ideas about replacing armour cuz i can't get it(see medical post)
and she agrees if buhner herbs are keeping my lumps away i shouldn't risk the high radiation of another cat scan
so now i need t rest and then do the drive back. first i have to try to find some stuff in storage.
i'm tired. couldn't sleep last night and slept in a moldy room once on the trip and have been eating garbage on the road.
i'm ready to get back to my bed.

Thursday-Does eating count? Went to company B-B-Que and pigged out before work.
Am tired, still trying to get used to working.
Kam-Those stings are huge, red and swollen, and they could have been hornets instead of bees. I'll let you know cause they're on my hit list.
Wonder if hornet stings help too?
TuTu-Am so jealous! Go to the show if you can and let us know all about it. Wish I could go to and take a happy trip down memory lane!
Fatherguido-Hi! Keep working towards that goal! We'll help encourage you!
Kayak-Glad to hear that Kris is doing better.
Hey, what's that about vitamin E?
I just started taking Simvastatin for my high LDL. Would E lower that? Also am starting to eat alot of wild caught salmon patties for lunch before work.
See you all later!

john prine wrote a lyric: "so i'm up here in the north woods, just starin at a lake..."
well I'M up here in he north woods staring out 3 windows on 3 sides of the house lookin for a bear
i found out last night he has been making the rounds every morning for a week thru all my neighbors yards. mine is fenced and my brother is out there a lot so maybe the scent keeps him away...anyway. i don't wanna deal with a bear. every since moose got brainworm i don't trust wild animals. they don't run away like they are supposed to.
now this particular bear is acting very normal-checking out garbage and bird feeders---hes a 1 yr old male.
but-i just wanna load my car and get going...no bears today, please.
why can't my life just be simple???

ak.. I'm not going to the show until maybe the fall. I could have gone earlier this spring at a cheap price. I will have to wait until fall now.
He didn't offer free tickets!
Oh.. I walked 40 laps, did 10 min on the machine, 4 on arm cranks and then weights.
I'm getting stronger in my legs due to the machine. That makes me happy!! My sciatica has improved as well. No attacks in more than a month if I'm not mistaken!!

Katherine, when my balance is off it is from allergies. I have been living on the generic of Alavert for weeks now. I am so grateful that it helps and doesn't make me sleepy.
My sinuses swell and that puts pressure on the ear that causes me to be dizzy and off balance. Not fun. I thought for sure it was my Lyme getting much worse. Instead it was pollen. Which is supposed to be really bad this year. Just a thought...
Dh and I did an overnight trip to the southern part of the state. So lots of riding and not much walking or exercise. Today I have been up and down the stairs doing laundry. I also vacuumed the house. And washed up the pots and pans. I am about done for the day.
Good job, Arkiehinny! We have a Curves here in our little town. But it is too aerobic for me. Kudos for getting there three times this week!
Hope you had a good visit with your nephew, Aklnwlf.
Lymetoo, I am thrilled for you that the sciatica is staying away!! Good job!
My, Kayak, you are making big decisions lately! That would tax my brain.
FG, my hat is off to you! There is no way I would sky dive! Glad that you were able to get back to it. Stay safe!
