Hey Guys, heard about this place over at mdjunction.com
Just diagnosed with lyme after 5 years of symptoms.
Head pressure, stiff neck, headaches, muscle/eye twitching, anxiety/panic, shortness of breath and air hunger, rib pain under left rib cage, bladder problems, prostate problems, sexual problems, eye floaters, digestive problems, muscle weakness.
Western Blot IgM; Positive; Bands 31 (+), 41 (+),45 (IND), 66 (+)
Western Blot IgG; Positive; Bands 31 (IND), 34 (+), 41 (++), 83 (+)
Been seeing a lyme doc here in iowa, like him quite well so far.
I have more neuro symptoms than anything, no arthritis or joint pain.
Just did my 2nd visit with LLMD July 1st, with positive Igenex test. Have 4 specific lyme bands out of 6.
Prescribed Amoxicillin three times daily and Azithromycin once a day. Already finished one month of Amoxy three times daily from june 3rd til july 1st, that was my first month of treatment.
Both meds prescribed now are for 2 full months each.
Also prescribed Artemisinin three times daily for 10 consecutive days a month, for three months. That's 10 days each month for three months. Started that June 27th, on June 30th awoke with fever, chills, headache and nausea. Think I herxed from the artemisinin, maybe babesia?
Also doc said take 5-10 drops of Samento and Banderol daily if I am not herxing, as some people do not get bad herx's, and I happen to be one of those people.
I asked doc if lyme symptoms go away in "reverse-order" of getting them and he said yes they do, meaning the latest symptoms to develop will be the first to alleviate and so on, so the longer the symptom the longer it takes to eradicate.
He advised to drink lots of water for detox, and sweat as much as possible with exercise, saunas, hot tubs, steam baths, etc and no refined sugars and minimal alcohol.
Anyone know anything about azithromycin at all? I heard its a macrolide, whatever that is? Anyone have good experiences with this drug? I like the Amoxicillin so far the high doses seem to be helping.
** moderator's note, edited to remove dosages, please don't include protocol specifics in order to protect our LLMD's **

I sounds like you are really in tune with your treatment. I'm glad you found a doctor who finally diagnosed it for you. I hope you experience continual healing in your body....you've come to the right place for support. I'd be interested to hear what "other doctors" told you about your symptoms or if they even considered LYme.

Sorry about including my dosage's, I wont do it in future. As to answer arkie. I went to two doctors about 2 weeks after being bitten with Stiff Neck, Rib Pain, and head pressure. One did an Elisa and said it was negative so he blew it off, the other said "Lyme disease does not exist in iowa" which is a bunch of bs. So niether treated me.
I went on for a few years with mild symptoms off and on, until last august developed twitching, bladder problems, digestive problems, and prostate problems.
I shouldnt have been having these issues as I'm 22 years old. I knew then to seek a lyme doctor because I still had the head pressure and stiff neck problems.
Thanks for the welcomes from everyone!
