Started just after christmas.. my whole entire body felt numb/thick ..if I scratched a part of my body it felt like I had to scratch really hard just to be able to feel it. It also felt like my coordination was off. This lasted about an hour.
Next day I woke up feeling like I had the flu (exhuastion, nausea, shakiness etc) -- Had heart palpitations and a feeling of extreme tightness in my stomache.
-- I then started feeling random muscle twitches in my body and once in a while I would feel an internal tremor like feeling.
Had this "flu" for about 2 weeks.. went back to work
-- Things started to look weird my vision was blurry, parts of my vision seemed like it was blocked out so if I looked at someone part of their face would seem like it was blocked out or something...it was weird. -- I then noticed that things sounded louder than usual.
-- about 3 weeks later I developed tinnitus in both ears constantly
-- Huge amount of pressure in my head and ears that comes and goes.
--Headaches at times it felt like I coudnt hold my head up because my neck was too weak.
--Sensitivity to light that comes and goes
--VERTIGO--HUGE symptom I always feel dizzy with some vertigo.
--every once in a while I will have an area on my body that kind of tingles for a few seconds then stops (on the top of my foot, or on my face by my lip and other various places).
--Other sympoms are
Motion sensitivity that comes and goes Nausea Weight loss (lost 45 lbs since christmas) Anxiety/depression Stress increases symptoms Huge increase in eye floaters if I look at a reflection from a car or something it takes a long time for my eyes to go back to normal --Irritable bowels seem to have alot of diarrhea --Extreme pain behind eyes (hurts to move them) this comes and goes also --A few times when blinking it seems like there are flashing lights in my periphereal vision --sore throat that comes and goes and the feeling of getting a cold but it only lasts a day --Extreme neck pain/stiffness that comes and goes
Anyway...does this sound like Lyme? I had a positive IgM but a negative IgG so my doctor is not convinced although he put me on 3 weeks of Doxy and is referring me to a llmd but that will probably take about 2 months to see him
Anyway does anyone else relate to this?

The flu-like onset, the shaky feeling, the light and noise sensitivity, vertigo, tinnitus, pressure in head, constant dizzyness ( it IS constant), irritable bowels, anxiety, depression, heat palpitations..
..ALL of it!
If you don't have lymes disease, then please let me know what it is because I have it.
By the way, what makes you suspect Lymes (besides the symptoms)?? Were you bitten by a tick? Do you live in a Lyme endemic area? Just curious.

Hi Kirk I dont recall being bitten by a tick but I have been in places where they are endemic. I pretty much just got my doctor to test me for it because we had pretty much ruled out everything else. The Elisa came back positive so they did the Western Blot test which also came back reactive.
Are you being treated for lyme ?

Jackie,
Welcome! Sorry you are sick.
You have alot of lyme and coinfection symptoms.
You will get more responses on the Medical Questions Board.
Do not delay...find a LLMD by posting on the Seeking a Doctor board.
You need a good eval for Lyme and common coinfections like Bartonella, Babesia, Ehrlichia, etc.

Yes I am being treated for Lyme. On my test I was 'inconclusive' on most of the Lyme specific bands except for 41. I was positive for a low level babesia infection.
I worked on a farm in far eastern long island the summer before i got sick and i was 100% healthy before all this happened so...
I have to say you are lucky to have a confirmed diagnosis, I wish I had at least that peace of mind.

I've had/have ALL of those symptoms. Does it sound like Lyme? ABSOLUTELY!!! Also, it seems like it's really common to only show band 41. Ask around, everyone seems to get band 41. Good luck, wish you the best.

Jakie...we've talked before on a dizzy board. I also sent you a PM the other day.
This sounds like lyme. You tested positive on the ELISA and Western Blot. You have it.
Your Doctor is wrong about IgM vs IgG. I, too, was very positive on IgM and completely negative on IgG. If you read the western blot explanation below (see link), you will see this is VERY common on people with disseminated lyme. The worst off rarely have IgG positive. (actually...the worse off rarely have IgM or IgG positive.)

Hi - I am able to successfully stop my Lyme eye symptoms by drinking mangosteen juice, an anti-inflammatory antioxidant juice.
There are lots of brands. I drink the Ultra one made by Trace Minerals, with 70 minerals added. If you try it, go slowly and drink a lot of water also.
