I've got people wanting to know my motive for the poll. My motive: I want answers!!!!!! Do you want to depend on some Government run organization for the facts? I want to hear from the people!!! So to those who are suspicious, this is my reason. Plus, I'd like to use the info in a research paper. Here is the link:
It's also posted under Activism. You guys pass it around. Don't worry about folks voting twice...they'll know if they've voted before or not.

Dear A... I don't want to burst your bubble, but, just so you know..
It isn't real good for many folks to put their location on the board and display it publicly. Think insurance, disability, health department, and your LLMD.
The less you share about your personal life and details online, the better.

Please note, neither place officially has Lyme Disease. My CDC positive WB was not reported and when I contacted the CDC they told me that if I was not happy with my doctor to find a new one.

Keebler - it is at the south pole - the penguins have tickborne disease - they got it from the tourists - no, not human tourists; bird tourists.
It's all over the world, due to bird flyways.
Me - Big Sur CA.
CALDA did a survey a little while back - folks there got it all over CA and then some. It's reported in the Touched By Lyme blog at www.lymedisease.org.Posts: 13171 | From San Francisco | Registered: May 2006

And I'm not the only one. There are at least 20 that I know of, and surely there are more. None of us are counted though, as the CDC says we have no cases of LD in MS. That is so wrong!!!
The sad thing is the CDC post these numbers anyway, knowing they are wrong, which is misleading to physicians, thus LD is never thought of as a possible diagnosis; and then that leads to those of us with LD, becoming chronically and seriously ill.

As for me, we have no proof/diagnosis that I have Lyme or any of the co-infections but I have lived in Wash, Ore, Idaho, Calif, Louisiana, Tx, R.I. Maine, New Hampshire, S.D. Wyoming, Ariz, & Thailand. Who knows.

Lyme, Bartonella, Babesia
me, my daughter, my son, my husband, 5 other people on my street, and 7 of my friends who live w/in 3 miles of my house, got it in Dauphin County, Pennsylvania, 2003 - present
and 8 more of my friends got it in Cumberland County, PA, 2005 - present
and one of my relatives got it in York County, PA, 2007
All of us (except the York county relative) live in the suburbs of Harrisburg.
And NONE of us had doctors who believed we could possibly have lyme.
And you can bet none of our illnesses are included in any CDC's count!!!

You don't have central New Jersey on your poll, only North and South Jersey. I answered the poll North Jersey, since location was closer to North Jersey then South.

I want to urge everyone to pass this link to others. I have had some participation, but feel like there are many more. I appreciate all who have gone to the poll & voted. Not all people from other Lyme Forums have been accepting, for some reason. Regardless, I still feel it's interesting & important. Thanks.

I'm sure this took you a great deal of time to set this up. Thank you.
I didn't know if you would take NJ as a whole state or areas. That is the only reason I mentioned Central NJ. We don't fit in with Northern or Southern NJ. As long as I cast my vote for NJ is the important factor.
It is an interesting poll.

It would have been interesting to know how many of you actually had seen a bite? Or are you assuming it has happened in the area you are in?
If all those answering actually seen bites, the stats must be wrong about only 30% having had them.

I saw the tick that bit me. It was in my foot a week. I didn't know it meant anything and neither did the local health clinic that removed it.
Because I saw it, I can date every symptom. Like it took 18 months from the date of the bite for full-fledged fibromyalgia to develop.

You are lucky to have seen it. I never did, so trying to figure out when and where it happened would be next to impossible.
Still wonder how someone can get bit and never know. Since they are difficult to remove.

Thanks for the great response so far!! I'm sorry if your area wasn't listed. I tried to divide the states up but it was tedious. Regardless, if you guys listed your county here on the thread, make sure you vote in the actual poll at the link in my first post. Thanks!
