Interesting to note this year I've seen reports of a few cases of hikers terminating their hikes in Virginia after hiking through Georgia, N. Carolina, Tennessee and contracting Lyme disease.

My neighborhood in North Georgia, was minutes from the AT. We had deer roaming our backyard all the time, we only lived there a year because that is where both my daughter and I were bitten and contracted LD. I was too afraid to let my kids or pets outside anymore and decided to sell.

indeed a sad story, but what makes me mad is the fact that the CDC does not even track cases in the South. IT is a big cover up! I know 100% that both me and my daughter were NEVER reported as a case of LD, even with a tick bite and positive test!
I get so furious thinking about what happened. Docs telling me, " just because you had a tick bite and a positive test does not mean you have LD" or "all your symptoms are due to anxiety" .
If I knew the risk was there, I would not have taken the risk! The CDC has let everyone of us down!
