Cooler here this morning. Looking forward to fall/autumn temps and being able to be out on the trail more often.

Tomorrow is the start of temps in the high 80's. Looking forward to the cooler weather.

How is the temp in your neck of the woods??

Able to explore a trail this am that I can't do in the summer due to it being too hot and dry.

Outing was 20 min but est walk time was 5 min, rest on a rock and then 5 min out. I was feeling loopy by the time I got to the car.

But, happy to be on my feet and in the quiet outdoors. Rest of the time was taking a few pics which takes multi tasking so glad I was able to do that.

Brain slowly showing signs of improving here and there.

There are two places in the area that have Ponderosa Pines on one side of the street and juniper/? on the other side of the street.

One is hot and dry and the other is cool and shady.

Thanks for starting the week off KAM!

I did an hour of Tai Chi this evening. It is a 6 week long class. Unfortunately, next Monday I will be in Portland getting my Mom on a plane Tuesday. Hopefully, it won't take much to catch up.

Thanks for the pics!
Best,
Karen

Did my usual 40 laps and 10 min on the machine. (I'm so boring!)

Did 2 minutes on the arm cranks, which I haven't done in at least a month...but it did still aggravate my neck pain. Yuck!

TuTu....not boring...I think it is pretty cool you are able to do the 40 laps and 10 min on the machine.

And you are able to keep up with it.

That Color Green...not able to read what it is you are doing from the web site due to brain but good luck.

Hi everybody!!!

Well went to Atlanta over the weekend and worked with my Mom at Japanfest 2010 as a vendor.

Man oh man!!! I've finally recovered enough to get on the computer today.

We were S W A M P E D!!! I worked way too hard and only had snacks and a couple of bottled waters each day.

I walked Rocky today just half a mile and am still trying to recover.

Doing 3 loads of laundry this p.m.

BTW, my Mom made about $950 and I enjoyed spending time with her.

See you all later!

ALW...Glad you were able to do that. Looks like you are on the road to recovery.

Rosie and I explored a new area yesterday. Est on my feet 10 min.

It was just a dirt road. I turned onto the dirt road as it was getting late and I was not going to make it out to the Indian Ruins as planned before the sun went down.

There was a sun for something for sale...I assumed a house so went to look for it.

But, there was another dirt road that I needed to go on to see what was for sale and it was kind of hidden in the trees so did not turn on it.

Let Rosie otu adn we walked up to the end of the road we were on.

Then I drove down the road while Rosie ran along side. Turned down a road I could see and will not do that again.

Came close to getting stuck..had not factored in the incline and the ruts and the narrowness of the road when trying to get out and the loose dirt.

So many dirt roads here have ditches on either side.

This one had ditches and a drop off. OK if brain is working well but not a good idea when the brain only has one spark plug working.

Getting dark here earlier now. Need to factor that end when we go out. I was waiting for it to cool off. Too hot.

In true lyme form...can only deal with one factor at a time...this time it was the heat

Kudos to your Mom, Aklnwlf! That is a good sale. I would think it would take a little to recuperate from all of the activity.

My Mom and I have been doing short walks twice a day. I have been canning. And cleaning. And napping daily! [sleepy]

KAM, does your cell phone have reception in the areas you go to? Glad you didn't get stuck!

Lymetoo, nothing boring about your perseverance with your exercise program. We are proud of you!

Have a good day, everyone!

KAREN...i am not sure about the cell phone converage. Still learning.

I learned the other day that the place I go to the most frequently and does not have cell phone converage.

got the clothes in the washer and got them out of the dryer but still need to fold and put away.

Able to do the 10 min loop tonight in the forest. And finally checked the mileage. It is 3 miles from home.

Wanted to add that it started raining as soon s I walked in the front door. I love it when that happens.

Thanks you guys! You are so kind! I DID change things up today because I was out running around this morning in my sandals and forgot to change into my tennies!

SOOO.. I did fewer laps and more time on the machine. I found out how to see how many "miles" you've gone on the machine!

I did (I think) 20 minutes on the machine and that was equivalent to 3 miles!! Woo hooo! I also walked 1/2 mile on the track.

Sounds like all of you are persevering too!!

AK... What did you sell??

tutu...that machine was smokin!

Able to walk into Walmart and get in electric cart and do a bit of grocery shopping.

They were polishing or cleaning the floors with a machine that was too loud. Wished I had my ear protection muffs with me.

Also able to walk into dog park before trip to grocery store to let Rosie do her business.

I just went to the gate and stood there with car lights on as it was still dark out.

Ever go to the grocery store and then come home and not have anything to eat??

I do have eggs. Now, to get up and see if I can cook those eggs. If not, it is yogurt, banana's and frozen raspberries for breakfast.

So, guess I do have food.

OK I am going to count this because I usually can't do this.

I have a red ball in my mouse. I dropped the mouse and the ball came out....somewhere.

So, I had to move the bed and get on my hands and knees and look for it.

I also had to lie on the floor.

First try...I did not succeed. Rested and then tried again.

Second try I succeeded.

but, body is so weak now and hurting. I know in an hour or so I will be OK

Realized I really need this flat on my back down time next to the computer.

Guess I don't remember the story of Robinson Crusoe, but thanks for the smile. I could never get anything done with a time limit.

I am really tired. I have been doing lots of cleaning and cooking. So time on my feet. Not sure it would count for exercise though.

My Mom leaves on Tuesday. I am hoping my energy can hold out until then. I hope to go apple picking with her today.

Lymetoo, 3 miles in 20 minutes is impressive. Good job!

Have a good Saturday, everyone!

Wow. Lymetoo walked 3 miles...I missed that post and vision is not doing well enough to find it and read it.

I also missed coming here to see how you are are doing and what you are doing.

Glad LN is back on line.

Well, it is Wed. Did you get to go apple picking and have the health to enjoy it karen?

If I recall, you needed to drive to the Portland Airport. is that today?

I headed out to find a place to let Rosie run off leash as I drove and found a field of wild mustard yesterday.

I'd like to go back today and I'd like to walk in the field instead of drive.

Getting up now to take a couple of excedrin to see if that helps. Body is very heavy and hurts all over and I don't know where I put my energy and strength.

Can't seem to find them lately which is also causing a foggy brain.

Trying to recall how many days LN hss been off line.

What have you all been doing? I kept thinking about Father Guido sky diving. That is so much fun to read about.

Two people i have been following on FB are almost to the end of their journey.

One is walking from the West Coast to the East Coast to bring awareness to stroke victims.

Another is traveling from the East Coast to the West Coast via his power chair to raise funds for housing he has started to help provide more places for people who need full time care to have their own place instead of live in an institution.

He has or will be in Long Beach, CA soon at the aquarium there.

Another guy with CP climbed half dome to raise funds and awareness for his summer camp he purchased after it closed down.

he had gone there for 10 years as a child and it made a big impact on his life. So, when he learned it was being closed he took up the ball and is running with it.

CA has had several lyme walks recently to raise awareness and funds.

I have been feeling blue lately because I have not been able to be on my feet to walk in the forest for 5 or 10 min.

It makes a big difference in my outlook if I am able to get out and walk in nature.

Can't recall if I mentioned it but was able to finally water the potted plants yesterday.

I try to water them once a week but it had been 12 days this time. Only one looks puny.

Last couple of days walked 2miles. Gonna strive to do it for the rest of week. Last week walked and swam 6days out of the 7.

I wish I could say I feel better but the pain is bad. But feel I need to keep doing this.

Good to see you back Disneyland. It is tricky finding what helps without setting us back.

Able to get out of the house this am and drive to a trial head. Not able to walk on the trail, but good to be out.

Just need to remind myself that I was able to do this if I am not able to do anything but move from the recliner to the bed the next couple of days. [Smile]

What surprised me is that I did let Rosie out of the car to give her a chance to run off leash and she just sat on the rock with me ....on the shaddy side of the rock.

I did give her heartguard recently. She usually doesn't feel well after taking it.

Hey, I tried to post yesterday with no luck too.

TuTu, my Mom makes bags, bookmarks, etc. out of Okinawa Bingata fabric and she paints t-shirts using a technique she learned there last year.

I've walked Rocky today but haven't been feeling well. Went to the hospital Monday for a CT angiogram upper extremity.

That's a long story and unrelated to Lyme.

Have to go back tomorrow for another test so won't be walking.

Wish I felt better so I could be more chipper.

Hey Aklnwlf don't beat yourself up! We all have bad days and good days. Hope the tests come out alright and that tomorrow is a better day for you.

Disney...Yes I did have one vet that used Interceptor. don't recall why I did not use it the next time.

After I typed the post I recalled that I needed to lower the dosage for Rosie.

What I have is for dogs up to 100 pounds and she is 60 pounds. Hoping I remember next month to do that.

ALW...hoping you feel better soon too. I enjoy reading about your walks with Rocky. Let us know how the test comes out. Hoping all is well. Having lyme is enough.

I'd like to see a pic of what your mom makes. Sounds interesting.

I got out of Dodge again yesterday. Drove 10 miles out of town on the 65 mph road and then a mile on the dirt road.

Campers still in that area which surprised me.

Not able to walk. Just parked the car and sat on a fallen log by a dry creek bed. Wasn't able to sit there long as body was too weak to support itself.

But, at least Rosie got some out door time and was able to stretch her legs.

Est outing was 1 hr. unusual for me to do this so thankful. I was hoping it would be cooler in the canyon but I was still hot.

The turn off is just past an area called the Little Green Valley. Nice spread that someone has there.

They were riding horses and practicing roping calves in the area (sp) when I drove by.

Before I got sick, I was trying to decide if my next car should be a convertible or a truck.

I also wanted something I could go camping in.

Finally decided last night. A truck so I can pull a 5th wheel possibly.

(Just dreaming) But, wondered how I would load and unload the power chair in the truck and camper. I noticed that the people camping also had those vehicles that allow them to go off road and on road...not ATV's..but can't recall the name of them...several brands.

They use them around ranches also.

Wondered where they had those when they were traveling. Wherever they put them, I could also put my Power Chair??

I also saw a coyote crossing the highway while I was out.

He was in the area where they have the ELK Crossing. They have a sensor and lights that come on when the sensors pick up movement along one stretch of the highway.

I don't know if it is working or not...I have read that Elk will use a bridge built for them to cross a highway...they have figured out that was safer.

But, no bridge here.

Kam wherever you are sounds fantastic! I love the idea of camping and someday would like to have a small camper or travel trailer.

They have new hybrid travel trailers that are very light weight and can be pulled by small suv or crossovers.

That does make sense about the heartguard. I think if you go over on the weight for Interceptor it will make them sick too.

I did do 2miles again yesterday. Had to rest afterwards. Plan on doing it again today before I leave for my errands.

Tomorrow heading over to Epcot in the evening to walk around with new group of people and sample some food from the Food and Wine Festival. Can't wait!

Had my EMG today. Wasn't pleasant.

Helped Mom run errands afterwards and later went with neighbor to help her pick up her truck.

I'll let you all know about the test results as soon as I find out.

Hey Kam, if I could figure out how to post pix I would love to share my couple that were taken this year at Japanfest.

BTW all, thanks for the encouragement about me not feeling well.

Disney...you are moving the body and having fun doing it too it sounds like.

EMG..not pleasant...hmm...hoping all is fine ALW

You are moving the body too.

If I figure out how to post pics I will let you know.

Brain is doing that inflamed brain thing or swelling or ? Not sure what to call it.

I was able to get gas this am and then get groceries. Est 1 hr outing..maybe more.

So walked to car, electric cart right were I parked so that worked out well this am, made one trip on my feet to bring groceries in, but used the power chair to make the next trip.

Also walked into dog park for a short stay after grocery trip to give Rosie a chance to do her business.

Guessing the inflamed brain is from using the brain so much this am. Hoping it will go away.

Planning on taking 2 more excedrin soon to help.

NOt so grouchy now that I have food and gas in the car.

Didn't really get much at the store...so will need to go back..but at least I have some of the basics.

Still need stuff for meals.

Saw one of those insects that look like a green leaf while at the gas station. That was fun but I am easily amused!

I remembered to bring my ear muffs this time but just needed them for the check out...store was not as noisey this am.

needed when I was trying to walk from car to apartment as the yapping dog is back next door.

It was so nice while he was gone..one of those small ankle biters that doesn't get any outdoor time.

Thankful my ear protectors blocked out the noise.

I had a short fuse this am and the noise was lighting it.

My neighbors fan is also under my window by the front door....she runs it 24/7.

So, it was nice not having the noise of the fan while she was gone too.

Don't know her but don't like her because she doesn't manage her dogs yapping.

Been back home for a week and taking a long overdue rest. Our canopy formation team took 1st in Canopy Formation 4-way Rotations and I do like the sound of National Champion.

My biggest fear was Lyme kicking in and wiping me out during competition which than thankfully did not occur very much. Thanks to all who wished me luck and here is a little blog from one of our team mates daughter.

I'll be back to catch up with what others are doing.

Wanted to post this story with the web site on it mentioned in the article.

It is about a guy going for a short walk and ending up spending 6 days in Joshua National Park.

http://www.insideedition.com/news/5117/hiker-lost-in-desert-for-six-days-found-alive.aspx

They mention a free web site where you can log in where you are going and when you will be back.

I have yet to go to the web site.

I am on my 6th excedrin today for that head pressure/brain swelling thing.

But, it is nothing like it use to be...

Managed to go to cardiac rehab today after attending a memorial service.

I walked 40 laps and did 10 min on the wonder machine! ---and a few weights and leg exercises.

Walked in the mall yesterday!! Never go there, but thankfully I had on my sneakers and walked quite a bit.

Kam... you need to use the site where you tell someone where you'll be hiking!!!

Father Guido...Congratulations! So glad all went well for you health wise too!

Thanks for sharing the article too! Must be a great feeling.

TuTu..another good all around moving of the body.

Yep. I thought about that site but don't know who I would let know locally. I have yet to find someone who makes life more do able here.

Most wear me out big time after just 5 or 10 min and don't have vehicle to come and look for me.

Traveled east of town last night on a dirt road in the car. Good to be out but looking forward to when i am able to be on my feet.

Will not try and travel in car on that dirt road again. Hoping tires still have air in them this morning. Lots of sharp rocks on the trail and more for a ATV than a car.

At least Rosie got out and was able to stretch her legs.

And it is supposed to be in the low 80's on Monday so hoping that might help.

Nice to hear what everyone's been up too.

Me and Rocky 1 mile today.

Sanded and spray painted two bookcases that I use as end tables.

Am going to try my hand at stenciling a design on them. Hope they come out ok.

See you all later!

So I did make it around the world at Epcot and even sampled some food. Even tried escargot. haha.

Took a rest yesterday as my mind and body were tired. Actually a 3hour nap and I hate napping but guess my body needed it.

Gonna try and get back on treadmill today or tomorrow. Will see how I feel after church lol.

Hope everyone has a blessed day!

ALW...I do wish we could post pics here. Sounds like a fun project.

Disney...Yep. The body needs those naps and takes them whether we want them or not.

Est 1 hr in the car last night. Drove about 7 miles out of town on the 55 mph road and down a few side streets just exploring.

Body was stiff and sore when I got home and had trouble walking from car to apartment but it was worth it.

got to thinking about the trail site...I never know where I am going. I am at the point that getting in the car is my first step.

Then I try to decide where to head after that depending on health, sun, temperature, etc.

headed east last night as the sun would have been in my eyes if I headed west.

Wanted to go further than my usual spot to let Rosie run on a dirt road while I drove.

didn't find a dirt road for her to run on yesterday but had fun exploring.

Just sitting upright in the car for an hour was my exercise

We are going to need to start a thread for October here pretty soon. [Smile]

My brain doesn't have what it takes to do that this am.

Drove 8 miles from the apartment. In and out of car a few times to take pics.

I used up what I had on this am's outing. But, it is cooler now so hoping to be able to have what it takes to be on the trail soon.
