It started with a pie that I gave to a friend who was down on his luck last winter. You'd have thought I'd given him the moon, but it was "just a pie".

Today he brought by a 1/2 bushel of hot steamed crabs and we ate till we were way too full! He said he remembered the pie and wanted to thank me. That was sweet.

Having way too many crabs, I gave some of them away and was given 1/2 bushel of sweet corn by a grateful friend and his wife.

That was way too much corn, so I gave some away and was given some homemade jelly in return.

Later another friend stopped by and I gave away more crabs. He came back and brought me some more corn (not knowing we had just gotten some).

Tomorrow we will give away the rest of the crabs, the corn and a jar of jelly to a mother who lost her son this past summer.

He helped me paint a high ceiling when my neck wasn't up to all that bending.

Funny what "just a pie" can do.

Have a nice weekend you all....

Wow...thats really something else! I have a neighbor like that. We had grilled (he declined the offer to join us..i think cos family was here) and we took him a huge plate of food and homemade dessert. He went to his huge garden and gave us some of the nicest veggies ive ever seen! He gave us way too many tomatoes so i took some to my MIL. Thats where it ended LOL! But thats just my MIL..she doesnt believe in sharing. [Big Grin] Thats a really nice story..thanks for sharing! Oh..i didnt think it possible to have too many crabs? [Smile]

Misfit.. I nearly spit out my supper reading your post! HA!

Thanks for the belly laugh!

[lol]

And yes... I know I should be grateful for having lots of steamed crabs and soft crabs this summer... and I really am... but at this point, between the fish, crabs, eels, clams and other swimming creatures.. I've about had my fill!

If they could go down to the pier and catch me a cow, I think it would make me VERY happy right about now!

I need some BEEF! Where's the beef?

[lol]
