I just posted in reply to another thread where Tracy9 mentioned Green Santas.
I know someone here gets this ball rolling before Christmas (sorry--don't remember who). And a lot of kids have had smiles on their faces Christmas morning because of it.
So I'd like to suggest that we get moving on this now, wayyy before Christmas and Hannukah.
What do you all think?
And to the person who started this tradition on lymenet, please explain what people need to do.

Lymetoo I agree that we should follow the lead of the person in charge.
I don't know/remember who Julie is, but as far as starting in October, I think it might be a good idea.
I myself am totally stressed out before Thanksgiving just thinking about Christmas gifts and the expense of it all.
I have my extended family come to our home to celebrate Christmas, basically because no one else has the space and we are centrally located.
It has become more difficult for us to do this, both for financial reasons and because when my kids aren't feeling well the last thing I want to do is host a party.
Every year I try to have a summer party and a holiday party. Unfortunately I haven't been able to do this consistently for the past several years.
But when we are able, every single person in our extended family...which includes family friends, my kids' friends and their parents...has the best time.
And that's why I do it. I want my kids to remain connected to our friends and family.
So if I am going to contribute to the Green Santas, I'd like to do it before the holiday madness begins.
And yes, I was here last year.

Can one be a green elf instead? I don't have much money, but I could provide a few supplement bottles or something.

Hello all - great to see so many people "raring to go", lol. I have always followed the guidlines set by the previous Green Santa leader.
If you think I should start earlier, than I will do that. There is a reason why we don't start too early and if you want to know why, just pm me.
Reply to this post if you think we need to start earlier and I can tally up the yays and nays and majority rules.
