My 27yo daughter isn't speaking to me. I had an appointment in Tulsa on tuesday, and I knew it was going to be an ordeal.
She had asked previously if I were going to be stopping by. I told her that it was highly unlikely, as the drive, sitting in the doctor's office, then going for labs and x-rays would be more than I could handle and knock me for a loop.
And that was if I were having a GOOD day.
And, sure enough...I just could NOT stop by. By the time I was finished, I was past toast. I was in excruciating pain, could barely walk, etc. I just needed to get HOME, and as quickly as I could. Home was a 2.5 hour drive.
So now she's mad that I didn't stop. She doesn't realize that I would have LOVED to see my grandson, and if I don't stop, SOMETHING must be really bad for me to not do so.
I will never get through to these people. Never.

- I've often used the term "toast" but "past toast" really does say it.
"Crispy around the edges" is another phrase that I use to avoid saying how it really is but those who know me know the code.
Has your daughter seen the DVD yet of "Under Our Skin"? Or read the book: "Cure Unknown"?
I suggested these to my siblings but they've not taken the hint. You may have to schedule the DVD viewing for her in your presence. -

I am so sorry that she is mad and not talking. I pray that she will over come this and realize that sometimes you are too sick to visit.

I haven't even seen "Under Our Skin" yet. I really want to. Need to see if the library has a copy. WHEN I can get to the library again.
I've sent her information. It's all there. I did suggest to her to check her local library for a copy. She never did. They don't think Lyme is any big deal.
Keebler..most of my family is like yours...when I say "toast", they know I'm beyond burnt. Not even able to take care of myself. Good thing my DH is 10yrs younger. He says it's nice to be needed. He can also tell when I'm lying through my teeth when I say "I'm ok". Remind me to put in an extra good word for him to Santa.

Lyme is a huge massive gigantic deal, and to ignore it is foolish.

She finally talked to me today. Said her feelings were hurt. I told her that mine were too...that doesn't she think that I would have LOVED to see my grandson and that since I didn't stop that means that I COULDN'T????
She needs a good shaking. Rattle something loose in that head of hers. And thanks to Mike, I intend on doing just that. We'll see.

If you can't get to the library, the library will come to you. Call and register for home delivery. I've had it for years. And never any late fees in my system as the person can wave those. -

Oh Keebler...I so wish. I live in a rural area. Just one of the disadvatages to living out here like I do. There ARE advantages. Would take me awhile to think of some, lol!
We actually have a teensy library in town. I've donated a ton of books. But unless you like romantic novels, there's nothing to read.

- You can get books from the library by mail. If you local library is not up to par, connect with another one in your closest city. Larger libraries often have "reciprocity" within certain geographic regions. You can have several different library cards to get full coverage.
Books by mail is available to all disabled people, regardless of where they live. You get mail, right?
Interlibrary loan cover the whole U.S. If it's in the system, you should be able to have it delivered to you. -
