Hi! Does anyone know of a document I can print out and hand to family/friends, etc. which explains Lyme disease, the testing problems, the controversy, etc.?
I'm looking for something that is clearly written, concise and hopefully containing references to medical journal articles.
I appreciate any input!

From the May 2007 issue of Clinical Advisor The Clinical Advisor is a monthly journal for nurse practitioners and physician assistants in primary care. Home page: www.clinicaladvisor.com

My family just doesn't get it, and they even watched "Under Our Skin"
I think a lot of people have problems here with getting their family to understand. So, I don't think a document can do it.
You could print out every document that is posted on this Forum, and start a binder. for your family to read. I am doing that.
I was emailing them documents all year, and then I got a stupid comment from an IN-Law telling me that she read that all I need is vegetables, prayer and less stress!
She had time to read that ignorant book but not enought time to educate herself about how this illness makes me suffer everyday.
Also look for the post titled "Pamela Weintraub speaks to the IOM panel" I think it was posted last month. That is a great speach that she gave. It is not enough but it tells our story in a nutshell.

- As missing says, lyme is just too complex to contain to one document and there is nothing simple about it.
"Pamela Weintraub speaks to the IOM panel" is the 5th link in the set 2 posts above. THE HUMAN FACE OF TICK-BORNE DISEASE is the title. -

- I would also ask them to get this book but, at least intently read the entire first chapter that has graciously been given to us by the author. -------------------------
This book is based on interviews with 13 Lyme-Literate Health Care Practitioners. Each practitioner is given one chapter in which to share their healing strategies
