Able to do the 10 min loop this am with a rest half way with my friend from CA.
She even was talking while we were walking and I was OK. Did have a couple of excedrin and a frap to help me.
Then I was on my feet as we visited 3 Thrift Shops in town. Right foot went numb like it does when it is time to get off of my feet.
A little off balance and weak at the knees too but dont' go down...Really need to get that harness for Rosie. I left her in the car this time.
But, she would have helped. I hung onto what ever I could in the stores and tried not to pull anything down.
Things I am thankful for:
thankful my friend is here from CA and she makes life more do able while she is here.
Thankful for being able to lie here and rest now. And have the computer to keep my mind off of lyme.

Bless you, Lymetoo! I have not been able to get to a computer this morning. And I am still under the weather.
What am I thankful for?
Family, friends, the level of health that I have, and most importantly my Lord.
No exercise for 3-4 days now. Couch potato time. Low grade fever and nausea. Nausea just does me in. So every one, continue on! I will catch up soon.
Kayak, I saw your post on Lipitor. You need to take Co Q10 with it to avoid those side effects. Some recommend taking your weight in mgs. So I would take 150 mg/day.
Hope you feel better soon! Karen

Monday-Me and Rocky a little over 1 mile. Tried to walk Rocky just 1 mile cause of his limping but he would not turn around at the half way point. He must be getting bored so we walked just a little further.
He's so spoiled! I do what he says!
Later cleaned house for Thanksgiving.
My nephew is coming to spend the night tomorrow and we have plans.
Going to Angel's Antiques and then will see the new Harry Potter movie.
Speaking of being thankful.....here's the short list.
Home, health, family (lymenet), Rocky and learning about possibilities.

I am thankful for my five new fishing rods with their foot size holder.
bet I cant get that foot in my mouth any more,,,looking for silver linings in gray clouds.
Probably looking at 3-4 more weeks before they rust off or get removed,,(whichever comes first)
Any body 'know' if one can drive with a cam boot on??? Thats whats coming next I guess. Left footed that is??
Hope the xray shows the bone thats shattered like glass or ice is fusing back together and they can start next phase at next appt. on 12-9.
if not they will wait a couple more weeks.
Excercise is pretty limited, two arms and one foot pushing a wheel chair,,,,,any body have better suggestions as to shaping up??
Was able to drop 22 pounds in first 21 days of this but alas the last couple weeks only lost another 4 or so.
Cant graze when you cant get to it!!!
Happy turkey day to all the lymenet family!!!!!!!!

JD...good to hear from you. hadn't thought of using those rods for fishing...but you don't know until you try!
I wondered about the driving thing....looks like you will need a chauffer for a while yet.
Not much action here today. 3 pm and I am still in my PJ's. Pain in body is becoming less from over doing it yesterday.
not sure what I said I was thankful for last time. But, thankful for my car today. haven't got in it yet today but nice to know it is there.

For the first time in 10 months, I can Run again! It may only be for 15 mins, but I never thought I could again. I am turning 21, and I have only had lyme for a year, but just recently started long term antibiotic treatment this last May. I have Chronic lyme, but things are starting to look up.
It took a lot of patience, but my LLND okayed me to exercise 3 to 5 times a week as of two weeks ago.
I honestly thought I would be in pain, and be in pain 3 days after words.... I was not going to attempt it. I kept telling myself that I wouldnt be able to do it.
After My husband went to work, I went to the gym and got on the treadmill, and start with a jog and was shocked, and then began to run.
I felt like crying because I was so happy!
And I felt great after the run, and felt no pain afterwards ;-)
Thank goodness for long term antibiotic treatment!!!
Its nice to

Hang in there, Don! It is good to see you have hung on to your sense of humor.
KAM, hope you feel stronger today.
Aklnwlf, Miss Pris runs me too. But I love her anyway. Would love to have gone to the Angel Antiques with you!
Lymetoo, any crafts hurts my neck or my mid back. But I still try. Hope the payback isn't too much.
I did my Tai Chi this morning. Including the warm up it was only about 20 minutes. Lots to do and not sure whether the energy is there to get it done. I may be visiting with my recliner right after lunch.
Have a good day, everyone! Karen

oh don...that sounds awful. i missed what happened. i guess thru my whole ordeal this last 3 months i should have been really thankful the left knee was worse than the right. i did drive. it was mostly ok...i had to borrow my son's stick shift the night i took kris to the vet and there were some close calls then...but i WAS able to go where i wanted...beach or shopping...even tho it was hard to move around when i got there...AND i could graze just fine...almost 10 pounds worth...
i'm wondering tho if you can do some lying down exercises...all kinds of crunches and leg raises and what about some weights for upper bod while you're sitting? the more muscle you mske the more calories you can eat without gaining!
but i missed how you got hurt so imay be way off base
its beautiful here today. its snowing everywhere i would go to visit for thanksgiving tho so i am planning to cook a small turkey dinner...i think a friend might stop over later-they have to work thanksgivng morning. today-i'm waking up slow letting the meds kick in and baking frozen pies and cutting up some veggies...i really should buy the pre cut ones with these hands but they just taste old to me.
i'm gonna bundle up and go snuggle into a sand dune this afternoon-its so sunny...get some vit D-listen to waves smell the salt. i'm greatful for being close enough to do that...in nh i couldn't.
i'm watching the weather and as soon as there are 3 days in ithaca ny without snow i'm gonna go visit my two aunts...one is 88 one is 94 and they have trouble getting around but their minds are still sharp as tacks.
i know when you are going thru a hard time(kris) the best thing to do is try to do something nice for soomeone going thru a harder time...and they are all excited about me coming.
and about kris...you guys...iknow i'm not crazy...hope writing this doesn't make someone come here and lock me up...but every single day since kris went to sleep i have heard his tags jingling at least once. i know it may just be my messed up lyme brain. i have smelling hallusiations occasionally too and have for years. the first 3 times i just tried to ignor the jingling. then sunday morning i was woken up with a real loud sharp bark...the kind he would give to say "cmon ma..get me up...caryy me out...its morning!!!"
honest...it was so loud i jumped up(well-sorta jumped) and i knew he was gone but i looked out windows seeing if there was a stray around. and then i got a good feeling that he was telling me to stop feeling guilty...i had done the right thing...he was painfree and playing with his brother...and i felt pretty good for a few days.
but then yesterday i heard the jingle again and this morning another bark woke me up. and now i'm thinking hes confused and stuck here . this morning it was three barks in a row...reallly urgent...like c'mon...its past time for our walk...
so...i could be crazy..(i'm not-really) or it could be my lyme brain(don't forget the two head injuries) or i'm thinking maybe i need to hook up with that lady on tv that helps ppl "cross over" whatdaya think?
i may regret posting this and delete it soon...don't call the crazy police on me.

But, able to walk into store with my friend and look around. one of those stores where they have several small sellers under one roof.
Then we went to hellsgate trail. Not sure how long I was on my feet. Est 20 min with 10 min break.
It was uphill...I understand why they say it is for experienced hikers only. I assume it is due to the incline and no water.

kgg .. I heard good things about Thai Chi today on TV. I used to have a Thai Chi DVD... somewhere.
kayak.. I think it's a good sign that you are hearing the jingle of his tags. It's just a signal that all is OK. No need to pay someone big bucks and discuss 'crossing over'.. not sure I believe in all that myself. BUT.. if it helps you.. then...
I dreamt about my dog last night.. haven't in a long time. He's been gone so long you'll think I'm nuts that I still dream about him!!

Rich...sure hope you get to do some snow boarding even if it is just a little here and there.
Kayak...I am woken up frequently from hearing Rosie's bark...only to find out it was in my head and she is still asleep.
Thought of you while a friend was here with her dog that isn't going to be around much longer too due to age.
OK I know I am missing out on more posts but will need to catch up later..vision and processing are going.
Kayak...how much was itto do the Buhner's tea? If my memory is correct it was you who had good results with it..right?
Achy this am and stiff and sore so just wondering. I haven't been waking up in the middle of the night to toilet since going back to excedrin extra strength first thing in the am instead of aspirin am...but still not sure that is the connection.
I'd really like to get up and be on the trail this am for 10 min once it gets light out.
I'd like to see if they have opened my favorite trail...waterwheel. The creek at first creek crossing last night was really muddy, stagnet and yucky looking...the sandy beach area was also gone. WE need rain. Looking forward to when the dry creek beds are running again and the other creeks are fuller.
Uggs coming first of next week. Hurray! It will be nice to have some soul under me vs walking in indoor slippers outdoors that are about to fall apart.

It was either empty the dishwasher and use power chair to take Rosie across the street to toilet or get in the car and head out somewhere.
I got in the car and headed out to see if Waterwheel is open now. it is about 8 miles out of town on a 30 mph road.
Hurray! It is open now. It closed down 2 summers ago due to a forest fire. I know I drove by the area...the area is burned out for a mile in that section. But, for some reason was hoping the canyon where the creek was would still not be affected as much.
it was. But, still enjoyed being there. Creek was frozen over in some areas. Rosie did her happy dance.
Ground was frozen.
Hunters scattered here and there all along HMR with their trucks and trailers with the polaris type 4 wheel vehicles.
On the way back the plaris type vehicles were gone so they were out and about too.
I think it was 17 degrees last night. One group had a trailer. But, couldn't figure out the other groups. Looked like they were sleeping in the trucks?? Burr.
Saw a polaris type of vehicle with a broken axil. The guy had on a face hood on that was orange. All you could see was his cigarette hanging out where is mouth goes.
He was reaching into his shirt sleeve pockets trying to dig something out. Looked like he was doing the funky chicken.
It was a Kodak moment but my brain needed to focus on driving..didn't have what it took to take pics this am.
Est 20 min on my feet. Really don't know. I will check the time next time I am out in the area.
I did sit down to rest half way but it was too cold so kept moving.
Car is out of gas now. So, unless I find some cash around here I am not aware of Rosie and I are grounded until the 1st of the month.
Thankful for the power chair..but it is going to be really cold sitting in it to get out and about first thing in the am.
Don't have what it takes to walk on the city streets with Rosie on a leash yet. I need the quiet of the forest and Rosie to be off leash.
And no distractions. Ears ringing more than usual. Thinking I need to get more magnesium in me..guessing that is what helps.
Happy I was able to be out. Resting now. Then, maybe I can do some more...maybe fold laundry and put away or empty dishwasher or just get some yogurt and take meds and supplements.
legs were like wet noodles on the way back on the trail.
Good work out though. First part is a level path. Then legs and brain need to step up and over and down here and there and make a path on boulders and rocks to get to the very small waterfall area.
Nice to hear the sound of the water there. Hoping to go further up the canyon one of these days.

Took Rosie out for her evening outing. I was able to walk up a few stones steps and sit on this plastic small table that the owner of the land had put there.
Great view of the Rim. But, cold out. Couldn't stay long.
Then sorted through paper work. That caused the hot and cold stuff with the body and pain and fatigue as if I were exercising.
But, good to finally make a dent in all the papers of which most just needed to be thrown out.
Many times when I check the mail, i don't have what it takes to go through things so just put them somewhere.
Found some money in the papers. Now, i can get gas. It was folded up in a grocery receipt.
I do that sometimes when I am too fatigued to put the money back in my wallet. But, usually just put the money and receipt in the purse.
So, I am thankful today that I was able to sort through papers and found gas money.

Yep. WE pick up different habits when the health goes south.
Able to get a bit of gas this am. Pulled up to cashier and walked into store. Then, pulled up to gas pump.
Not strong enough this am to walk from pump to cashier.
Then, walked into dog park. WE had it to ourselves. Short visit. Just long enough for Rosie to do her business.
Resting now then hoping to get breakfast.
Good to get out of the apartment but I'm exhausted and need to defrost.

Well, I can now see the bottom of the basket (it is a basket for a fireplace to put logs in but I use it to toss papers in)
It wears me out so to sort through things as much as if I had been on my feet for 5 min which is my limit most days. The next step is to find places for the piles of papers I have other than putting them back in the basket.
Also was able to empty the vacuum filter container.

Angel's Antiques was closed by the time we got there Wednesday so just went to an all-you-can eat buffet! Ugh!
Happy Thanksgiving all!!!
Cooked turkey, squash dressing, instant mashed potatoes, peas and carrots, gravy, rolls, small relish tray and a pumpkin cheese cake.
Me and Rocky walked over 1 mile before the onslaught of food that day.
And yes, took my Mom and her BFF shopping on Black Friday. I'm nuts, what can I say.
Now me, hubs and Rocky are in a motel on Dauphin Island Alabama enjoying a little R & R.
Hope you all had a wonderful Turkey Day and will check in when I get home!

That's funny TuTu. When the brain is drained it always is a challenge to do the multi tasking of taking the receipt from the clerk and the change and putting it away.
So, yes..just folding every thing together and putting it in the purse gets the job done..although not like we would like to do it.
AKW..sounds like you had a nice Thanksgiving.
I have got to do something about Turkey Day next year or if health improves just might do something about this year.
MIss all that good food.
They have a potluck here at the apartments but it is too much for me to handle yet.
My friend who was visiting got Marie Callender Turkey TV dinners. REally puny. About two bites of turkey in them.
She said they were better last year. Surprised me as she is a vegan.

OK Feeling like I haven't moved much yet today. But, I did take a shower.
And I did drive out to the trail 3 miles from here. I stayed in the car and Rosie ran.
With the exception of getting out to chase her away from the dead entrails...yuck.
And I did brush the snow off of the car windows before taking off.
Maybe tonight I will be able to walk in the forest.
Tried to empty the DW but brain and body weren't having anything to do with it.

Able to drive out to the trail head dirt road. Rosie got to stretch her legs while I drove.
Good to be out.
Able to clean up a bit in the kitchen last night...at least got the dirty dishes in the sink to soak and emptied a littte of the dishwashwer while on my feet.
