well mine turned out pretty good.
spent christmas eve alone cause he was in ohio and went to the airport at 12 and picked him up.
i got him a kindle and some luggage. his kids got him cabelas gift cards.
i got an hsn shopping card, plenty of esther price candy (which i didn't need), and my new car!!!
unfortunately his son backed out of buying one of our cars so we have to sell it ourselves. pls we have to sell the motorcycle and try to recoup some of the money we spent.
looks like the next couple of months are going to hurt. let's hope we don't have any hospital visits or anything.
i hope ya'll had a nice christmas and santa was nice to you and your families.

we usually had brisket, black eyed peas, grits, potatoe salad, baked beans, and french silk pie.
i can't eat a lot of that but i sneaked a couple of those esther price candy.....
ooohhhhhh
yep, got a new ford fusion and everything on it. and i threatened him with death if he even touches it. i mean it too...
he was talking to his sister on the phone and i told him to tell her "this car is NOT for sale". she made a snippy comment about "well when the honda wears out, i'll call you." and i told her "don't count on it". (that relationships is sooooo over....).
but i'm glad i made it another year. couldn't have done it without this board and all of you guys tho. egads, if i didn't have ya'll to talk to, i'd go stark raving mad...

I guess our Christmas was okay, but the few days afterward have been rough with family issues--my New Year's resolution is to never get involved in someone else's life again. That's how great that went.
I got some cookware, some chocolate and some lingerie for Christmas (sorry if that's TMI, but the way things have been here lately, that's I hope a step in the right direction). I got hubby a big model airplane that he wanted, a drain auger, and a calendar.
Kids of course got way too many toys, and what I thought would be the big hits were expensive flops.
Ready for this year to be over now. Managed to tick off 3 people this week--so much for no stress.

I totally fell off the "sugar wagon" this holiday season in a big way! I enjoyed every bite too. (Especially the peppermint bark- yummy!)
Once I'm on the wagon it's so easy to stay one, but getting back on is soooo hard.

I had a very nice Christmas in spite of my best friend having some very bad luck. Her husband of 9 years left her 3 days before Christmas-- no explanation, he just didn't come home and then sent someone over with divorce papers. She doesn't have family in the US so I invited her to spend Christmas with my family.
Even though I know she's devastated, I think I did a pretty good job distracting her for awhile-- we went out for pedicures, took a lot of walks around the neighborhood with the dogs, went shopping, and had a delicious Christmas goose (first time I've tried it). She is unemployed and her husband emptied their bank accounts, so I'm trying to help her find a job.
I feel awful for her, but it made me grateful that in spite of all the Lyme crap I deal with, I'm in a supportive relationship, my family is close by, and I have a decent job. Things could be a lot worse.
