12 years will, generally, contain 3 leap years. So there will be 9 years with 365 days = 3285 and there will be 3 years with 366 days = 1098

Thanks everyone. All things considered, he had a good day. He did admit it was the worst birthday ever... just because he feels so darn sick.
We played a game... we had some delicious carrot cake muffins (gluten free/sugar free)
And we thanked God for all the good stuff.
I wish I could give him the one thing he really wanted for his birthday...
