In my seminar class we are reading a book called "Where the Wild Things Were." It's about how the loss of top predators (wolves, lions, etc.) is causing ecological collapse. It's an excellent book and I definitely recommend it!
Chapter 6 in the book is called "Bambi's Revenge" and it's about how the deer population is skyrocketing and how it is directly correlated with the rise of tickborne disease. I asked my professor if I could lead class discussion when we get to that chapter (not for a month or so).
In addition to that chapter, I'm supposed to provide 1-2 other articles on the same topic for the class to read. I thought this would be a GREAT opportunity to teach others about Lyme! Especially because my department (ecology) has many people who love and work in the outdoors so we are all at risk.
So, does anyone have a really great scientific article about Lyme? It should preferably be from a scientific journal, not the popular media. I want everyone to trust that it's from a reliable source.
Thanks!
