Morning everyone. I was wondering if anyone could direct me towards some safe, high quality glass storage jars. Ideally I'd prefer both dark-tinted and clear options and I need them to be airtight. Ideally I'm looking for a glass-on-glass lid system, but cork is fine as well and metal will be considered due to purity. I'd like to avoid china sourcing if possible, and of course I'm looking for high-purity glass.
I've read that so many of the major canning jar manufacturers are now bought out by a single conglomerate and are lining their metal lids with BPA - Ball, Kerr and other brands are affected.
At the moment I'm looking at a few items from Bormioli Rocco (available on Amazon) and they seem to have a good reputation - Made in Italy to EU safety standards etc.. though I'd like to know what their stoppers are made from that contacts the contents in some designs, however they also offer mason-style jars that are glass-on-glass with a stainless steel clasp (that does not touch the contents).
Anyone have ideas? Thanks.

Just providing an update. I ordered a set of 3 hermetic-sealing mason-style Bormioli Rocco clear jars. They are made in Italy, and the instructions are mostly in Italian and mostly cover pasteurization and sterile canning techniques. Overall, the glass is heavy and high quality. The metal latch does not come in contact with food, but seems to be decent quality steel, if a little spindly. The only questionable material is the insulating gasket, but it won't touch the items you're storing and it doesn't "feel" like many of the typical toxic foams or plastics.
(Worth it for those who can afford. You pay around $70 a year, less if you are a university-level student/instructor or fall into certain other demographics, and you get a whole bunch of bonuses on Amazon including free 2 day shipping on everything directly from them, $3.99 per item overnight shipping including Saturday Delivery, Release-Date free delivery for items you can pre-order like entertainment media and tech gear, and now a ton of streaming videos. You can also share the Prime membership with up to 5 different Amazon accounts, but I believe you have to be in the same household. Highly useful when purchasing hard-to-find items, including supplements, and heavy items that normally would cost a fortune to ship. Considering that an overnight saturday delivery of even a small item via FedEx may cost $50-100, the membership pays for itself very quickly.
Should anyone wish to subscribe to Amazon Prime, I may be able to provide you a referral discount code)
I'll provide any updates if warranted. So far, this looks like one of the better companies for safe glassware at an affordable price.
