It was extremely draining and emotional, but I got through the calling hours and funeral for my brother. Many, many people came to pay their respects. He had a lot of friends.
My oldest brother gave a very touching eulogy that had us all laughing and crying. He spoke of how my deceased brother was a star athlete in school and was an extremely hard worker on the farm where we grew up. I suppose he seemed invincible in those days.
My brother hauled windmill blades and the bigwigs from the company for which he worked showed up from Minnesota to the funeral. One of the men eulogized my brother. He called him the best truck driver they had, and said my brother was "irreplaceable". I was so proud to think that he was thought of so highly.
It was really upsetting to see him in the coffin. My daddy is taking this hard.
Anyway, I just wanted to thank everyone for their support. It means a lot to me.
Tomorrow I will have the surgery that had to be postponed because of my brother's passing. I feel like I am ready to get it over with.
I will always have a hole in my heart because my brother was such a great guy - a big teddy bear who always laughed and joked - and I love him very much.
Take care, everybody - I'll write again when I feel up to it.
- Julie

be proud, go to the mirror and look deep in your eyes... you will see your heart in the hands of the Lord, you gave me strenght being there when your flesh fought you every step of the way... May your brother reach down to you with grace. wayne

Glad you made it through it, Julie. Had to be very very tough. Losing a sibling has got to be the hardest thing. I dread losing either of my brothers.
We'll be praying for you tomorrow. Be sure to have your husband check in with us sometime soon, OK?
Love and hugs!

Hugs and prayers for you and your family at this most difficult time.
I just buried my Dad 4 months ago. Very difficult but must be even worse when it's a sibling.
