For those of us that aren't able to continue with their "normal" day-to-day activities, I thought it might be helpful to start a list of things we do during the day.

Obviously not all of us have the same interests, but maybe we could share some ideas here and find some new things to do.

=========

My list:

1. Television: I've watched a few quality programs in the time I've been sick. I'd recommend The Wire, Friday Night Lights, Arrested Development, Southland. Maybe Law & Order, but after a couple seasons it started getting old.

2. Scrabble. Honestly, scrabble is the best game I've ever played. http://www.isc.ro works really well for playing online against real people.

3. Musical instruments. I'm not always up to it, but it's nice to noodle around with a guitar occasionally. Bonus points for instruments that you can play while laying down or sitting back.

=========

Feel free to chip in and let us know what you do to pass the time.

Crossword puzzles, lots and lots! Some TV, but it's hard to concentrate or comprehend. Same with reading.

5vforest! I admire you Scrabble playing.

My other hobby; moaning & groaning, lol.

Great topic~
Love Arrested Development!

1) Netflix.... one of my guilty pleasures is watching several seasons of of a great tv series with no commercials or waiting to find out "what happens next"

2) Genealogy..... I started out only knowing grandparents and a few great grandparents names.... I have now traced my family tree back to the beginning of time. LOL!

It was very therapeutic for me, in that I was so sick, and undiagnosed, and socially isolated for such a long time (years) , and researching my family tree gave me back a sense of connectedness that I desperately needed.

3) Facebook.... In a socially isolated existance, facebook is a lifeline. It gives me an opportunity to interact with old and new friends, without any pressure or stress.....while wearing sweats and looking like crud. If I feel really yukky, I can just click "like" on one of their posts , and still get a little warm fuzzy from sharing something with a friend. FB is good medicine [Smile]

4) Mafia Wars. Guiltiest of guilty pleasures, but hey, I get to be strong and powerful, and I get an ENERGY REFILL everyday!!! I have over 2000 friends from all over the world in my mafia, most of whom I have never met, but a few whom really like me, and would help me get Doxy from India if I need it [Smile]

It's also really fun to beat people up, and kinda gives me an acceptable outlet for any lyme rage that might come up.

5) Youtube. Wanna know anything about anything? Somebody has probably posted a video about it on youtube.

6) Google. The Universal Library is now at out fingertips. I am able to feed my brain anything it desires. I have spent 1000's of hours following my interests through google. Sure hope I can remember some of it when I get better [Smile]

Lets see. My top things would be:
1. YouTube, I have a channel and I document my Lyme journey and there is a lovely support system there!

2. Facebook, The only way I keep in contact with any friends and family really.

3. Lyme Net, Lyme Friends, Survivor Friends, and the such.

4. Hulu, I don't have a TV so I can still watch a few decent shows without getting all the garbage on TV.

5. I like to scrapbook on my bed. I know, it sounds ridiculas, but I only have a medium box full of supplies so it isn't that much and I don't get too intricate with it! It allows me some creative outlet.

6. Blogs...I have a blog and I enjoy following a few fellow Lymies.

Basically, the WWW and my bed are my world. And you probably noticed a pattern but lots of support and friends who know what this is like. I couldn't do it without them all!!

Caution everyone, that link is inappropriate especially on a forum that is visited by young people.

The site contains images of nude/semi-nude males.

5v, good idea for a "distractions thread".

Bad idea for you post that link. Can you please remove it?

Whoops, sorry about that, I don't think it was like that when I posted the link, and it says "NSFW" above any inappropriate posts. I didn't really think that many children would be reading this thread or this messageboard even, but it's my bad for not reading the rules.

Apologies.

I have no idea what "NSFW" means. But thanks for deleting the link.

I didn't/don't know the rules, but rules or not, that link just didn't belong here.

There are a lot of young people (teens/20s) who come here and don't need to be exposed to that kind of stuff.
