I thought some here may like the big picture when it comes to infectious diseases and LabCorp's menu. I also included some oddball tests that Lyme physicians or other alternative specialists may consider such as VEGF, CD-57, MSH, etxc.
I have spent time in the past putting this together. If you hear 'we don't do this test', well...pull this out of your back pocket. Maybe it'll help.

Aren't codes universal? My PCP used LabCorp for years and now uses Quest.
So am I thinking correct that the medical code for blood tests Western Blot is #163600 for Lab and Quest?
Thanks for the great info. Maybe some dr can use LabCorp on request? I'm still not sure if they could identify "lyme" antibodies if it bit them in the arse.

No Pam, these codes are specific to LabCorp. You're thinking of CPT-4 codes which are universal across insurers. Each lab generates their own test codes internally and bills using CPT-4 codes. The reason I posted what I did is because some of these labs are not even on LabCorp's test menu online. It took research to dig them up.

Wow, this is great information.
I could not get a Babesia test from Lab Corp. without this code. Someone on Lymenet gave it to me.
Hmmm. I saw RMSF on your list. I was told by Lab corp that they don't have this test.
This is going in my Lyme file!

you can order most of these yourself through places like this (I've done it, you just go to a Labcorp office with the paperwork they email you, and they treat it like a regular doctor ordered the test): http://www.directlabs.com/

Haley, I asked my PCP to have a run of tests, that was back when he used labcorp....I asked for one of the co-infections and I'm drawing blank on which one. They ran RMSF in place of it.
It had to be ehrlichia or Rickettsia, or babs.
Seek, thank you so much for the info and straightening me out on univeral codes. You must have secret files you are finding such good info.

Seek, this is great. I copied it to my Lymefriends blog so that I can find this info later.
Does anyone know the codes for the cortisol tests that are preferred? I'm not 100% clear on whether that's am/pm cortisol or something else.
