I feel alittle silly posting this question, but thought you all might have some thoughts. Any ideas on online places to buy a comfortable pair of pants (or 2) for a larger young woman (maybe size XL or 2X)?
I can't shop in person, and I'm getting overwhelmed by all the options online.
In June I will be traveling to see a new doctor, and will be in their clinic all day for about 4 days in a row. I've mostly been housebound since last summer and I really don't have much in the way of pants that fit anymore (been slowly gaining weight).
It will be taxing to be out of the house at all, let alone traveling and in a doctor's office, so comfort is really important here. But, of course, it would be nice if I could find something that looked decent too

I agree with the Kohl's suggestion. They always have sales and they have an excellent return policy. You can order multiple sizes, try them all on, and send back what doesn't fit.

I mostly live in sweats and yoga pants from old navy which I order on line. They are cheap and comfy.

Check out www.zappos.com. Last I checked, they do FREE RETURNS, free for the shipping both ways! But check to make sure they still do.
A lot of times, people will order multiple sizes/styles, and just send one or more back. They have names brands and such, and a lot of times you get your order the day after you order it....I have no clue how they manage that!

Lands End has very nice pants. Quite a few have elastic waists and are nice soft cotton but also look nice enough to wear "out". I also like buying things from LL Bean. Good quality and they now offer free shipping and both Lands End AND LL Bean have no time limits on returns and WONDERFUL customer service.

Lane bryant has nice plus sized clothes.
They are also trendy for younger ladies and not frumpy.

Thank you all so much. It's wonderful to have this list of ideas. I've been checking them all out and finally bought 2 pairs! We'll see if they work, but if not I can always return them and try one of the other lovely sites you all shared with me.

I like Kohl's too. They had some pretty spring/summer pants and shirts that I saw there yesterday. Soft cotton with separates to match.

I just spent 2 months ordering everything on line at Kohl's and Home Depot for a major face lift in our home.
Only one item was the wrong color. The sheets were brown not gold. I took them back shopped the store for the ones I did like.
They weren't on sale and I don't pay full retail for anything. Three days later they were on sale 1/2 price and I had 15% off coupon. Shopped on line and got the gold sheets I wanted.
I ordered new faucets, new lighting for baths, pull knobs for all cabinetry, shower fixtures, bathroom mirror framing, all decor. I only went to Home Depot for my paint.
I do not have the energy to go out shopping for all this stuff. I shopped clearance and 1/2 sales and made some great buys.
I had UPS, Fedex and US postal leaving me packages 5 days a week. Yesterday when the mail lady drove up I went outside and threw my arms in the air.
I told her I'm done buying everything I need and I miss having Christmas like packages delivered to my home.
I second the Kohl's and Walmart shopping. But one line shopping is easy. Hired my brother-in-law, jack of all trades and he has his own business and his labor price is fair. His work is outstanding.
Didn't have to tell my husband how, what, when and how and have those not so friendly working on projects together discussions.
If I had to go out and do that shopping...it just wouldn't of happened for another year.

I gained weight very suddenly with lyme disease. I, too, do not do much shopping. But I have had great success with www.womanwithin.com. Their clothes are simple, inexpensive and comfortable. Just buy a few pairs of neutral twill pants and a variety of tunic tops and you will be set.
They are great with returns, too, so you can experiment with size. Read the product reviews. You can talk to a sales person there, too, to get an idea for size.
I like this place far better than Kohls and Lands End because their clothes are designed for full figured women...not just XXL. The proportions are better than store bought clothes.

Yes, I ended up buying from WomanWithin, and had great luck. Both pairs of pants fit and are plenty cozy -- I think they'll work for my doctor's trip!
Also, I think WomanWithin and OneStopPlus may be the same or similar company, as womanwithin has a tab up top for onestopplus, and they seem to carry many of the same things.
I just happened to find WomanWithin easier to navigate.
