she ignored any testing for lyme and lyme does infact cause abnormal eeg I read it on the lyme.org that is what i am so made about. why not treat the cause and not the symptom,,,those drugs cause so many side effects, if it is a lyme infection causing this then he should be treated he had swollen lymph nobes that is a sign of infection, I am not letting him drive. but with that said he never had a seizure of any kind. so it could be anything that causes an abnormal eeg i havelyme and have brain lesions and stupid neurologist wanted to give me steriods said it was ms turned out to be lyme,,my lyme doctor said would be in wheelchair if i took the med its been 14 years and not in wheelchair thank god i did not trust that doc with my life,,,hope u understand what i am trying to say in the end what if you are misdiagnosed and have your lisence taken from you for wrong diagnosis that is what i am not understanding,,

You can have petit mal seizures with Lyme .. seizures you would never notice. (or you can have grand mal seizures with Lyme)

Speak to a dr you trust. Maybe this can be worked out so he will be able to drive once he gets treated.

racerx, I'm so sorry you and your son are going through this. Sometimes it seems we are in a funhouse at a Fair...only it's not fun!! What doctors see & suggest is not in line with what's really going on inside your body.

Prayers for you that you will find the right doctor, diagnosis and help for your son.

You say he's going to school and working on top of not feeling well. Sounds like a good young man.

I believe in PA, a doctor can submit a form to PennDOT to have a license revolked. Your son should receive notification from the state of the suspension of his license for medical reasons. It could be reinstated when his medical condition has cleared and your doctor signs a form confirming this & and then submits it to PennDot.

I'm sure it's hard on your son not to drive now. Hope & pray that he will soon be well and this will be behind him.....and you.
