Lyme in Putnam, I'll be praying for your dad too.
Will you all please pray for my mom tomorrow? She's scheduled for surgery in the morning to repair 2 throat defects. She stops breathing often and chokes in her sleep, it is scary to hear this happen. I'm sure that the lack of oxygen and poor sleep are affecting her total health more than she knows.
So if you will, please pray for her as she has surgery tomorrow morning and as she recovers. Hopefully I'll feel OK enough to be able to go see her tomorrow afternoon and help her when she gets home in a few days. I love my mom so much, I just wish I could help her more, that's my responsibility as her daughter...
Thank you all. I hope that you sleep well tonight and wake up feeling better tomorrow Posts: 5237 | From here | Registered: Nov 2007

Good Morning friends,
I only have a minute before I must head out the door to church, but I wanted you to know sammy, that I am praying for your Mom and you too.
I will wait with confidence for God to answer my prayers for you both.
May God give you both peace in knowing that He is in control and He works out all things for the good of all.
You are a great daughter!
Let us know how your Mom and you are doing.
Big Hugs!!

Good Morning Friends,
sammy, I, too am praying for you mom. May the surgery go well, minimal pain, and your mom heal very quickly in the almighty Name of Jesus. Looking forward to another good report from you. Peace to you and your mom, especially may He give you peace about what you can/or can't do.
Just imagine all the people that could do for their mom and dad, but don't. And here you are doing what you can. I'd say that's something to celebrate! Peace my friend. Like Dekrator said, "You are a great daughter!"
Dekrator, Be blessed at church today by the Holy Spirit.
MDW, My dear friend, I'm praying for you, too.
Today in my Chronological Bible almost ALL the verses are my favorites. I feel like cutting and pasting each word for everyone to read.
Well, although I'm not going to cut and paste the words...think I'll go ahead and give you the scripture references.
Psalm 138:1-8 Psalm 139:1-24 Psalm 145:1-21 2 Samuel 21:1-14 2 Samuel 9:1-13 Psalm 8:1-8
Here is one of my favorite, Psalm 138:2,
"I will bow down toward Your holy temple and will praise Your Name; for Your love and Your faithfulness for You have exalted above all things Your NAME and Your WORD."
You're all in my thoughts and prayers. Have a great day in the Name above every name, Jesus!
Jesus is above all, He is Creator, and reCreator=Healer!

Hi daisy,
I like your enthusiasm! Thanks for sharing today's scripture read and Psalm 138:2.
Thank you Lord, for Your faithfulness and Your love!
I love that...."and reCreator=Healer"!!!
Thanks for your prayers!!
I did feel blessed today by the Holy Spirit at church. I was the first one there ( I had to take my grandson to school today, so I was early).
I knelt to pray and had a sensation of being so close to God because I was there alone in the church.
It wasn't long until someone else entered the church.
I had never experienced that before, being all alone in the church to pray. It was beautiful.
Have a fantastic day, daisy!

Hi rhody,
I'm glad we can help support you here on God Thought!
I am happy to pray for you. Come here as often as you can.
I know it helps me too.
It is normal to be confused by a new site such as lymenet when you are new to it....I was also confused for awhile.
Let me see if I can explain a little about how this site works...
On the "Flash discussion" page (also called "Forum Home") there are several different lymenet boards.
There is a board for Seeking a Doctor, a board for Activism, a board for General Support (that's where the God Thought thread is), a board for Medical Questions, a board for Off Topic discussions and a board for Computer Questions.
If you want to ask a Medical Question, you would post it on the Medical Questions board.
If you need some support and want to post a new topic related to support issues, you would post it on the General Support board.
People looking for a Dr, will create a post on the Seeking a Doctor board.
Posts about getting involved with activism/lyme awareness are on the Activism board.
There are different ways to jump from one board to the other.
At the bottom right of each board's page you will see a drop down menu that says "Hop To":
You can click on that drop down menu and choose which board you want to go to and then click "Go", just to the right of the drop down menu.
Or another way to hop from one board to the other is to go back up near the top of the page and click on "Forum Home" (it's in small letters right under "Post Reply").
That will take you back to the Flash discussion page where you can then click on what ever board you want to go to.
Another way to go back to the Flash discussion page or forum home, is this...
Lets say you are on the General Support board reading posts and you want to go to the Medical Questions board...
You can also get there by going up near the top of the page...just above the first post...and click on "Questions and Discussion". that will take you back to the Flash discussion page also, where you can then click on another board.
So you see, there are different ways to navigate from one board to another.
Now....about God Thought....daisyrlb starts a new God Thought thread (or stream) every week...or within a few days of the new week, depending on her schedule.
She puts the dates of that week in the Title of that God Thought thread....like this week it says "God Thought 5/2-5/8/11"
It makes it easier to read the newer posts that way...since God Thought would be a hundred pages+ long by now if she didn't start a new thread each week....
I hope this helps a little.
Just ask if you don't understand and I/we will try to explain further.
The longer you are here, the easier it will get....but I understand about lymebrain.
Hang in there rhody! May God's peace be with you.

Good afternoon,
I tell you, if one misses a day here or two, one can get behind on some great read. I think I caught up with all that has been. I pray for all those who have asked for prayer and even if you have not asked you ARE in my prayers.
Dekrator, I am so pleased you were blessed and quite an experience to have alone time with God in curch this morn I'm sure. You have shared some beautiful thoughts the last couple days. I was touched by your thoughts of "I will not be afraid, I will look upward and travel onward and not be afraid" I am fine friend, just been real busy. How has the "new" bible you bought been treating you?
Daisy.. No it is not clear as mud with the A,B, C's because I do not have them in my bible. thank you for praying for lil ole me. I really enjoyed reading all the Psalms...wow, the ones that stand out for me "today" are...
Psalm 138:1,3,8.. 1. I give you thanks, O Lord, with my whole heart. 3. On the day I called, you answered me; my strength of soul you increased. 8. The Lord will fulfill his purpose for me; your steadfast love, O Lord, endures forever.
Psalm 139:23-24 Search me, O God, and know my heart! try me and know my thoughts! And see if there be any grievous way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting!
Psalm 145:2-3 Every day I will bless you and praise your name forever and ever. Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised Psalm 145:5 On the glorious splender of your majesty, and on your wonderous works, I will meditate.
145:8 The Lord is gracious and merciful, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love. 145:18 The Lord is near to all who call on Him, to all who call on Him in truth.
I just absolutely love reading Psalms.
I need to spend time with the boys now, will try and come back later. I am thinking of all of you not just Daisy and Dekrator...okay? ok.

Dekrator, Thank you, yes, my day has been going very good. I've gotten lots accomplished. The beginning of the month is especially busy for me.
Sounds like a wonderful experience being all alone at church...just you and the Lord. WOW! And then someone had to show up...Go figure! Ha!
Kind of reminds me of the way life is. Some days I could just stay in my Prayer Closet with the Lord but then I'd lose my job, we wouldn't have clean clothes to wear, the house would become a mess, etc, etc.
God is so good to be with us everywhere...even, and especially when we don't feel Him.
So glad you explained to rhody about getting around Lymenet. That was really clear. I even learned something...that "Hop To" I've totally overlooked that. Thanks. Imagine all these years I scroll all the way back up to the top...I wonder how many hours that equals in my life?
My golly it's Friday night, not even 6pm yet and I'm already getting silly. I guess today has been too serious of a busy day. It feels good to wind down.
rhody, so glad you found us here on God Thought. Dekrator sure explained getting around Lymenet good. Sorry you're feeling so poorly. Glad you found God Thought. I just said a prayer for you. May the verses, songs, posts encourage you on your healing journey. You are not alone ever!
MDW, thanks for posting Meet me in the Meadow. So good. WOW! Very blessed.
DKat and sammy, Sure hope your day is going well.
Lyme in Putnam What about you...and your dad? OK? Yeah, God is so good that we only have to live "one day at a time" and even "one second at a time" and to top it off, like I said, "He's even with us." That is amazing.
Yes, I am very blessed indeed. Praying you all have a good weekend as you "keep your eyes on Jesus the author and perfector of our faith" (Hebrews 12:2) and come to think of it...everything else too!

hi all, Dekrator~how awesome that you met with the Lord in church. That close-alone time really puts everything (ie pain/problems) in perspective.
Several years ago I was able to help clean a church and I loved to pray alone there.
I've been praying for Sammy & her mom and Lyme in Putnam & dad. As I'm praying for some pain/problem in my life or some praise for a beautiful thing the Lord has shown me, I pray for you all.

MDW,
So glad you are ok and just busy.
Thank you for sharing all the Psalms and Meet Me in the Meadow....beautiful.
daisy,
I am curious about your prayer closet. Is this a small space where you read and pray? Would love to hear more about it.
I love to read your posts....you are silly and serious too and you write like you are talking to us...hard to describe, but it is friendly, comforting and entertaining too.
You are the best!
DKat,
I hope I get to have more alone time in church...it was fantastic, as you know from your own experience.
I might have to start going there during off times...lol.
If anyone has never experienced being alone in church to pray, it is awesome! I felt like I had the total attention of the Lord!
Now... I know that sounds wrong because our Lord always listens to us, but there was something special about being alone in His house with Him.
Friends,
I am waiting hopefully and expectantly for good news updates from lyme in Putnam, sammy and anyone else who wants to share.
I am praying for everyone!!!
Have a peaceful night!
Tomorrow morning I am picking up my friend Judy and we are going to some yard sales for some fun....we do have a good time doing that.
Then Deven's ballgame in the afternoon.
Here is the link to K LOVE's Christian Radio staion for anyone who wants to listen online...

Thank you all for praying for my mom. Her surgery went well today and I was able to spend some time with her this evening.
The doctor said that she will have severe pain in her throat for a couple weeks then it will gradually get better. She will be on a liquid diet for 3wks! I was surprised to hear that.
Usually I am the one that takes care of my family members when anything medical comes up. This is going to be difficult because my mom's been the one really helping me lately.
Hopefully I will tolerate my new medicines well and I'll start feeling better so that I can take care of her and do all the housework. I'm pretty worn out tonight but so relieved that the surgery is over.

sammy ~~ I'm so glad your mom's surgery is over and she's on the road to healing/restoration.
Lord, we pray that sammy's mom's healing will be so quick and painless that the doctors will be astonished. Jesus be glorified! And please, touch and strenthen sammy to help her mom through this time, and to have the wisdom to know what to do/not to do as she, too, heals. May this time be especially blessed with your peace and love.
I really like the worship song you posted....our Youth Group plays it sometimes.

Dekrator, I really like your song by casting crowns...I'm going to go to iTunes for it tomorrow. Thanks.
When you get back in church alone, it's such a blessing to spend time praying for the pastor and the congregation...
I read a teaching on the prayer closet that explained when Jewish men brought the prayer shawl on their head, it could close out the world and give them privacy with God...thus the closet....
My friend has a special green chair she uses as her 'prayer closet'. The only special thing I can see about the old chair is that she spends her time studying and praying there..
I agree with you about daisy's post ... gently friendly. I look forward to reading what you all post here everyday.
Good night...blessings and God dreams..

It's a quiet relaxing evening at home tonight. I'm glad.
Dekrator, Awww there you go again...encouraging all of us. OK, so my "Prayer Closet" is not a closet at all.
In Matthew 6:6 in the King James Version of the Bible it reads, "But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly."
So that is the Old English language...newer translations use the word "room" instead of "closet". Anyway from that term "Prayer Closet" has come to mean THAT regular place where a person meets with the Lord.
The house we live at now, my "Prayer Closet" is the front porch. Yeah, for real. When it is cold, it becomes the couch usually.
Have fun tomorrow with your friend going to yard sales and then to Deven's game. Sounds like fun.
I love KLOVE. Yes, that is a beautiful song. New to me.
sammy, glad for the good report. Praying you get some much needed rest tonight. Even a totally healthy person can be wiped out after what you've gone through the past week...and especially with your mom.
Praying things go very well for you with the new protocol.
Oh, I like that song by David Crowder Band. Indeed, HOW He loves us1
God is good all the time, and all the time God is good!
Good night to all my God Thought friends, too!

Sometimes we can be surprised just what we are able to do when we must.
Dekrator, I enjoyed your song also,"If we ever needed you" you alsmost brought a tear to my because this song reminded me come Monday morning I will be leaving around 5am to join with a neighbor heading to Alabama to help with the Hispanic Tornado relief.
Daisy, Oh my gosh, that was a beautiful version in the King James. say it again..
May everyone have a healing peaceful rest.

Well, it's Mother's Day weekend and this verse comes to my mind,
"I have no greater joy than to hear that my children are walking in the truth" (3 John 1:4).
Truly that my children are walking in the truth of God's Word and following the path that He has for them is the best Mother's Day gift of all. I am blessed indeed.
MDW, That is wonderful you going to Alabama to help with the tornado victims. God will bless.

Good morning friends!
sammy,
Praise the Lord that your Mom's surgery went well!
I pray He uplifts you and helps you to do whatever you need to do to take care of her and you.
Thanks for sharing the song, "How He Loves Us". I have not heard that one before.
DKat,
Thank you for sharing about the prayer closet. I am learning new things!
MDW,
How wonderful that you will be helping tornado victims. May God give you the strength you need to do His work.
daisy,
Thank you for the scripture about prayer and the prayer closet and for sharing about your prayer closet! Appreciate that!
Good that you got to sleep in a little this morning...you've been a busy bee.
Thanks for the Mother's day wishes!
I wish you the very best Mother's day ever, and the same to all Mother's here...and those that care for people like a Mother.
rhody,
Keeping you in prayer too.
I pray that God will deliver you from your agony...and that He will heal you and bless you in ways that you cannot imagine!
I found a few small things at yard sales today...we only went to about 8 of them.
It's early in the season here. During the summer, on a Sat, we may go to 25-45 yard sales in a day.
Found my grandson, Kaden, 2 nice pr of shorts, one pr of pants and one shirt.
I also got a book, for me, called "God at Ground Zero"....stories about things that happened there.
Judy and I had some laughs along the way.
She is struggling with taking care of 2 elderly parents, being a single woman with a drug addicted 21 yr old son who lives at home, big financial stresses, health problems, ect., so she enjoys our time out to get away from all that.
Well, I better get some things done before it's time for Deven's ballgame.
Have a God-filled day everyone!!

Did you know the woman who created Mother's Day spent the rest of her life protesting the holiday?
Anna Jarvis campaigned to get national recognition for Mother's Day in 1907 after the death of her own mother. However, after the holiday received national recognition and was adopted in 40 other countries, she resented what she saw as the commercialization of her holiday. Anna Jarvis was definitely not happy that Mother's Day was reduced to sending cards and candy. Jarvis spent the rest of her life and money campaigning against the holiday. She ultimately died broke and childless.
Such a hardened woman, Sour person she became. Well I say have a beautiful mothers day weekend and be blessed with the time you spend with your children.

I just saw where the Christian radio station K LOVE gives away free music to download on iTunes each week.
This week they are giving away the song "Listen to the Sound" by Building 429.
If you want to download this week's free song from K LOVE go to their site and follow the directions for entering the code to redeem on the iTunes store site...
Scroll down just a little and click where it says "Get it free on iTunes" just under where it says FREE SONG on the right.
I tried it and it worked fine. That was one of the songs I planned to buy on iTunes anyways, so it was a nice surprise.
I downloaded some songs today on iTunes, but I had not bought that one yet, so good timing.
I plan to check their site each week to see what the free song is.

rhody,
I am thankful that you have supportive friends that help you with the basics, make sure you eat and give you lots of hugs!!!
I do totally understand though, about no one else being able to understand the pain and suffering, and the 24/7 struggle.
May God fill you with peace and hope, and wrap you with love.
We will always be here...and God will always be right there at your side every step of the way...He will carry you when you are too weak to walk this journey.
Footprints
One night I had a dream-- I dreamed I was walking along the beach with the Lord and across the sky flashed scenes from my life.
For each scene I noticed two sets of footprints, one belonged to me and the other to the Lord. When the last scene of my life flashed before me, I looked back at the footprints in the sand.
I noticed that many times along the path of my life, there was only one set of footprints. I also noticed that it happened at the very lowest and saddest times in my life.
This really bothered me and I questioned the Lord about it. "Lord, you said that once I decided to follow you, you would walk with me all the way, but I have noticed that during the most troublesome times in my life there is only one set of footprints.
"I don't understand why in times when I needed you most, you should leave me."
The Lord replied, "My precious, precious child, I love you and I would never, never leave you during your times of trial and suffering. "When you saw only one set of footprints, it was then that I carried you."

Dekrator ~ Thank you so much for the Klove link for a free song...I didn't know that and like the song. I need some new worship music....I so love 'feeling' close to the Lord. Everything else is good when I know He is with me. (I know because of His Word He never leaves me....but it's so great when I am experiencing His love/peace.)
You sound like a very good Grandma...sitting in the cold watching ballgames in this body doesn't sound like fun. But love....
Thanks for all the songs & poems, thoughts of Jesus.

The prayers from others here have gotten me through some very hard days. I'm thankful for each of you.

MDW - I never thought about how Mother's Day came to be. That was very interesting.
I get to spend Mother's Day with my Mom & Dad tomorrow at my Brother's.....plus he & his wife are making the meal (I just bring the cake... only I don't get to eat any of it). I'm blessed anyway!!
Jehovah Rapha bless you...and all of us... Jehovah = God of Abraham, Isaac & Jacob Rapha = mend or to stich up/healer So when God gave us this name for Himself (Ex 15:26), He was explaining that He is the Lord who mends and heals that which is broken and needs mending in us.

Dkat, have a blessed day with your momma. I love the song you posted. I was reading your post and thinking to myself how in the world do you know this stuff..Jehovah Rapha? would have zoomed right over my head if you had not explained, beautiful, it is.
I was watching a on-line service this eve. very good it was. The stronghold we should have in our life is God. Some of the scriptures was Phillippians 3:7-14 and 4:11-13. Got me to thinking about Matthew 22:37-40 Love God first, above all else, and that we love other people as we love ourselves. Do that and you will fulfill all of Gods requirements.
These two commandments are constantly on my mind. After I watched the program, I got the thump on my forehead, in this service the Pastor said, "It's not what God can do for us, but what we can do for God."
So, I have been reading my bible and studying these Phillippian scriptures and Matthew....and thinking....
More on this later, boy I sure have much to learn.....Oh the beautiful things we can see and learn.

Dad had the procedure, didn't go well. His arteries are closed in his legs and they couldn't put the stents in or do bypass. He'd never make a bypass surgery. Me and my sisters are trying to figure out what next. He's healthy otherwise, it's just a shame at this age for this to happen. He'll be 85. I'm his baby nd looks to me for everything, including he thought after the procedure he would be walking well and I had to tell him about the stents. I hsv neurologist Monday, one day I'm takable, one day so OCD ridden I cant talk and thoughts so illogical and constant, sleep horrendous, I just want to think clear again and feel like me, but then again, so do the majority on this site. Thank for asking, god bless, Cathi

Good Morning Friends.
"This IS the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad" (Psalm 118:24).
Blessed Mother's Day to everyone. Yes, I said everyone (male and female). We can have a "mother's" impact on others giving life, eternal life to others as we share about our beautiful Jesus...planting seeds and watering the Truth into others' lives.
WOW, many posts since I was here last...and that wasn't long ago. We're on page 2 and post #90 something. So....I want to encourage everyone, including me.
Do not feel like you have to respond to each post.
Do not feel like you have to respond to each link.
Do not feel like you have to respond to something...because it is the Lord who minister's to people on God Thought. Yes, He uses the various posts that people write...but it just might be the one line, just a few words, you shared that ministered to someone and not the details of what a song means (like I've been known to do. Ha! )
Please feel free to share what is on your heart as that is what's most important. If that includes saying something about what another person posted, so be it; if not, so be it.
We don't HAVE TO post about every post...you know the same like any other thread on Lymenet.
If God Thought becomes a burden because people feel they have to say something about what EVERYONE else has said...then that defeats the purpose of God Thought.
God Thought is here...so that God's Thoughts of His love and care, His healing power and gentle touch, His peace and joy can become more and more a part of our lives.
OK, so after saying all that...
DKat, You are quite the scholar. So glad you're on God Thought posting for all of us to learn. "Faith comes by hearing and hearing the Word of God" (Romans 10:17) AMEN, build our faith, Lord through us hiding Your Word in our heart.
Dekrator, Appreciate you and your consistent prayers for all of us. We need them and God answers!
MDW, Thank you for sharing about the beginnings of Mother's Day. That was interesting. It was/is such a great idea to honor Mother's...no one could stop that. And although there is commercialism...regardless, there is STILL so much good that comes out of it. I love my sweet momma who is with Jesus for over 30 years now.
LIP, So sorry about your dad and your mind. Boy, I know how that is. May God give you wisdom in what to share with your dad. Is he a believer? Don't you wish you had his mind? Just being silly, a little, keeping it light in a serious subject. Prayers and hugs to you friend.
sammy, Your mom in the hospital, yes, she is being taken care of and hopefully you got some much needed rest. Great if she gets to come home on Mother's Day...however, it is, after all, God's decision. I liked what you shared, "Close your eyes and you'll see that I'm giving you a big hug."
And everyone reading this now, I'm stealing sammy's words, Close your eyes and you'll see that I'm giving you a big hug.
And I'm off and "running" this Mother's Day...
PS, Ooooops too many Graemlins...gotta delete a few. Ha!
I had to change my ending Graemlins to words
Group Hug, Group Hug, Group Hug!!!

Ok all....my true feelings today...I am feeling a bit emotional today. A big part of me feels I will never get better. I feel so unwell and so trapped with this brain fog, it's impossible to imagine getting through this, I have had it so long.
I am deeply grateful for all your prayer and support. There is a part of me, weak as it is now, that is is a fighter and will try to carry on the path to try and get better. God love you all, and especially you who are mothers...Happy Mother's Day. Martin

Good afternoon friends and Happy Mother's Day!
liP,
So sorry to hear your Dad's procedure didn't go well. May God give you and your Dad peace that He has a plan and will be there for you both.
sammy,
Good to hear your Mom is well taken care of in the hospital and may get home soon.
Thanks for the Mother's day wishes.
rhody,
Thanks for the Mother's day wishes.
I understand about the feeling like you will never get better.
It was 9 months into my lyme Rx when I had the first small glimmer of improvement in pain which is my biggest symptom.
Time is going to pass anyways, so it is better that you have started this journey, since that's the only way out.
God knows that all your suffering is for a reason and He will see you through it.
Will keep praying for you and for everyone here.
My memory isn't real good...not sure if you have tried going gluten free and sugar free yet? It helps me and definitely helped my brain fog.
MDW, Enjoyed reading what you wrote. More for me to think about!
DKat,
Boy, you are one smart cookie! I'm glad you explain things because it would otherwise be over my head.
I feel your pain about not eating the cake! No sugar for me either. I always just watch everyone else eating it.
daisy,
Thanks for all you shared. I'm glad you mentioned about posting what is on your heart...not feeling like you have to respond to all posts and links, ect.
Sometimes I feel overwhelmed and it is good to just say a few words or ask for a prayer or what ever.
Thanks for the Mother's day wishes. I liked what you said about giving life....eternal life. That really is the greatest gift of all.
My beautiful grandsons gave be a pretty card today and their smiles filled my heart.
Thinking of everyone today and praying for all who are reading. God Bless!

Sharing the gospel reading from church today:
Luke 24: 13 - 35
13 That very day two of them were going to a village named Emma'us, about seven miles from Jerusalem,
14 and talking with each other about all these things that had happened.
15 While they were talking and discussing together, Jesus himself drew near and went with them.
16 But their eyes were kept from recognizing him.
17 And he said to them, "What is this conversation which you are holding with each other as you walk?" And they stood still, looking sad.
18 Then one of them, named Cle'opas, answered him, "Are you the only visitor to Jerusalem who does not know the things that have happened there in these days?"
19 And he said to them, "What things?" And they said to him, "Concerning Jesus of Nazareth, who was a prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people,
20 and how our chief priests and rulers delivered him up to be condemned to death, and crucified him.
21 But we had hoped that he was the one to redeem Israel. Yes, and besides all this, it is now the third day since this happened.
22 Moreover, some women of our company amazed us. They were at the tomb early in the morning
23 and did not find his body; and they came back saying that they had even seen a vision of angels, who said that he was alive.
24 Some of those who were with us went to the tomb, and found it just as the women had said; but him they did not see."
25 And he said to them, "O foolish men, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken!
26 Was it not necessary that the Christ should suffer these things and enter into his glory?"
27 And beginning with Moses and all the prophets, he interpreted to them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.
28 So they drew near to the village to which they were going. He appeared to be going further,
29 but they constrained him, saying, "Stay with us, for it is toward evening and the day is now far spent." So he went in to stay with them.
30 When he was at table with them, he took the bread and blessed, and broke it, and gave it to them.
31 And their eyes were opened and they recognized him; and he vanished out of their sight.
32 They said to each other, "Did not our hearts burn within us while he talked to us on the road, while he opened to us the scriptures?"
33 And they rose that same hour and returned to Jerusalem; and they found the eleven gathered together and those who were with them,
34 who said, "The Lord has risen indeed, and has appeared to Simon!"
35 Then they told what had happened on the road, and how he was known to them in the breaking of the bread.

I've wondered why God kept Cleopus & friend from recognizing Jesus. But, isn't it interesting at the beginning of their walk that day they knew Jesus to be a prophet...even though they'd heard he had risen from the dead & and that angels proclaimed Him to be alive! BUT...(wouldn't you love to have been there!!) Jesus made them to understand all the scriptures beginning to end about Himself. Then when blessing & breaking bread their eyes were opened.
Wonder if they understood and knew at that moment the bread as His body?? Wonder how long it took to get back to Jerusalem & how excited they were to tell the others?
Lord, God let your Word burn inside of us...that we can be alive and different knowing You and Your great love for us!!
