TGIM! Yeaaaaah, beginning of a new week. I'm ready for more of God's thoughts!
Yesterday, the church service was so good. Started with blessings to the mothers (of course, it was Mother's Day. FYI, my day was great), then worship (which is always great), and the message, plus two people were baptized.
The pastor started a new series but laid some foundation for what he'll be sharing from Revelation, "The Red Letters". Meaning the seven letters to the churches in the first three chapters.
Bottom line, pastor said...IT IS ALL ABOUT JESUS. The entire Bible is about Jesus. The book of Revelationi is about Jesus.
He shared examples/stories from the Old Testament of how the Bible is about Jesus from beginning to end. Blew me away. So simple and yet so profound.
Just one example, the story about David and Goliath.
Most of the time it is taught that we are (like) David facing the Goliaths in our life.
Pastor shared it from a different perspective that really made sense to me. We are not (like) David. We are (like) the scared Israelites. Jesus is "David". Jesus wins the battles for us. Jesus fights our Goliaths for us. Jesus is victorious in our lives.
Great way to start my week...knowing that Jesus is on my side and He always wins!

Thank you for sharing the movie trailer from "Road to Emmaus" on last week's God Thought thread.
I cried just watching that couple minutes. Would love to see the movie.
Yesterday in church, the priest asked us if we knew when we had our "Emmaus"?...or maybe we had not had it yet.
He meant that time or moment when we really "got it" and recognized Jesus in our life.
For me, I'd say, that even though I've been a Christian all my life, I think my Emmaus was in the last 17 months which has been the hardest time in my life emotionally.
That's when I really recognized that God was in control and I must look to Him for all my strength because it wasn't going to come from anywhere else.

I have not read about the 7 letters yet, but I might need to skip ahead and do that. Very interesting thoughts your pastor has about David and Goliath.
On last weeks thread you said about the Footprints poem and your Dad gave you a special necklace, bracelet and watch with that on it....wow, so special to cherish something like that!!
You said you love the beach and have alot of nautical decor...I also love the beach!!...not just love, but love, love, love!! lol
I have alot of large seashells around my home, plus alot of tropical decor with palm trees that reminds me of a tropical beach even when it's cold and snowy here.

Good eve God Thought friends, I was thinking of words last eve and I came up with so many words that I have learned from God Thought family which have helped in a time of struggling with PAIN of many color. I hope they help.

Daisy, I do not think I will ever tire of "Our God is Greater" song, Oh, and knowing that He is greater. It's All About Jesus. Yep,I agree. "The Red Letters"....I'm not even going there yet, enjoy and I will ask wayyyy down the way to break it down for me.

I have been reading a book today called "Captured by Grace". very interesting book. Talks about John Newton and the hymn "Amazing Grace" As you know I have not cared for this song because they sang at my grandmothers funeral when I was small. But yet since I have been on God thought this song continues to pop up. Anyway..
These lines to the song were the original following the present third verse....
The lord has promised to me, His word my hope secures; He will my shield and portion be, As long as life endures.
Yes, when this flesh and heart shall fail, And mortal life shall cease, I shall possess, within the veil, A life of joy and peace.
The earth shall soon dissolve like snow, the sun forbear to shine; But God, who call'd me here below, Will be forever mine.
The hymns original title was "Faith's Review and Expectation"
I thought the story of this slave owner was pretty interesting, I have more to read. I still need to get through the first chapter. Sure glad the words are in larger print for me. Ha! Oh, and the author speaks of King David and the amazing grace given to him also, All this in just the beginning of a chapter.
St. Augustine said " God always pours His grace into empty hands."

Whenever I hear a song by DC Talk or the Newsboys it always makes me smile. They were my favorite childhood bands and the funny thing is I still enjoy their songs. (Like "Jesus Freak" that one will never get old for me)
MDW, I enjoyed your PAIN thought. So good.
It's amazing how God uses what's happening in our individual lives to reach us as a group. Like Dekrator pointed out, God can use the hardest times in life to touch us, teach us, and draw us closer.
rhody, I saw your post on the last God thought thread. I think we can relate to how you are feeling. Some days are harder than others. Somedays I think that my life (treatment) costs too much, that I am not worth the effort. At the same time I know that God wouldn't leave me here on earth if my life didn't have some purpose left to it.
I have to set my mind to try my best and look to God to take care of the rest. My life may not be what I dreamed it to be but I think that I will be happy if I can live my life in a way that is pleasing/honoring/glorifying to the Lord. So hang in there friend, keep fighting and lets see what God will do with our lives. (Don't you wish you could fast forward and peak?)
To end on a positive note, my mom got to come home from the hospital yesterday, yay! She's doing pretty well so I'm happy and relieved.
Hugs, you all are in my thoughts and prayers (and also Putnam's dad, I didn't forget!).

Hello all.... It's a beautiful sunny day here. Thank you, Sammy, for your thoughts. I am doing a lot of sitting around because of the neurological debilitation. Every day I tell my self to keep going and know that this takes a heroic effort to go step by step, one moment at a time. I know that God is in control, and there is a reason and purpose for everything
I am so glad that your mom is home from the hospital. I am sure that you are very very relieved to have her home. Praise God for that!
I am grateful to all of you for your prayers. I feel I am at the beginning of a scary and very uncertain and confusing. Thank goodness I am living with supportive friends.
Anyways, may the Lord bless you all today with whatever it is you need to have a joyful and peaceful day. As I said, I am very grateful to all of you for your prayers....

Each day, walking with Jesus, I want Him to reveal more of Himself to me...and also, transform me to be more like Him.

I've actually heard that swimming in the ocean is very healing to the body because of the salt content. I would love to swim in the ocean daily!

sammy, So glad your mom is home. That has to be such a relief. I've not yet listened to "Red Letters" song. I like all kinds of music. A couple years ago even went to a "Third Day" concert with my oldest son and his wife. It was awesome.

I've said before, but it's been a while, I believe any person who keeps moving forward with Lyme, as you say "one step in front of the other" is a LYME SURVIVOR. rhody, you ARE a Lyme Survivor.
I have a verse for you, "The name of the LORD is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe."
In His presence, He replaces fear, scary, uncertain, and confusion with peace. You are so right, "God IS in control."

Just thinking about the faithfulness of our God tonight.
I think this is my all time favorite rendition of "Great is Thy Faithfulness" 2nd Chapter of Acts (probably from the 1970s). The way this brother/2 sister group harmonize is beautiful.
May you be encouraged. I think on the other side...we'll see just how faithful our Lord has been!

Dekrator~It is glorious outside again...it's so great to hear the birds and all creation praising the Lord! I can almost hear the harmony as we join in to praise...

Jesus thank you for your recent help and love. It has been a long time since I did not suffer terrible symptoms after exertion. I promise I will never lose hope and learn from all that crosses my day to day life. You are my power, my strength and my world.

This eve we have to be in 2 places at once. Kaden, age 4 has a soccer game, and Deven, age 7 has a baseball game.

Daisy, I remember a short bit back in time you had posted this song "Great Is Thy Faithfulness" and it today is just as beautiful as the first time I listened. I like your bold "Lord God, our hope IS in your unfailing love!" part of verse 11, oh, I fear Him in a healthy way. I hope you have had a refreshing day.

MDW, That whole write by Anne Graham Lots, thank you for typing (that was a sacrifice of your time and fingers). I was blessed by reading it. WOW! It is so awesome to realize that our loving Lord is always with us and one day we WILL meet Him face to face.
Anne is the daughter of Billy Graham. He is 92 years old. I read he was admitted to the hospital for pneumonia. The doctors are optimistic. Please pray for Billy Graham and his family.

Before I hit the hay thought I'd stop in one more time.
Marine, Appreciate your prayers for all of us. the more the better! That song...yes, He IS our hiding place! The song has a relaxing beat. The pictures of all of those flowers was amazing. So many and yet all so different. Each so unique and colorful.
Reminded me of God's masterpiece of creation...that would be us...people. God made each of us unique, different, special.

...had the first medical appt with my doc since the LLMD diagnosed me. Boy, was that a flop! He wanted nothing to do with even looking at this. Of course, he was wanting blood tests, which I know would not be helpful. I am in Ontario Canada.....please, all you my new friends, pray that I am led to the right MD who would be willing to work with the LLMD in the States to help me on the path to healing....God bless you all! Good afternoon friends!
Had a good time at grandson's games last eve. I was able to find some shade, MDW. Hope you are having a beautiful day also...maybe a little cooler today?
Kaden had soccer practice and then played his first soccer game (5 weeks late due to lots of rain). He scored 4 goals and was beaming from ear to ear.
He gets lots of practice at home and at our house trying to compete in sports with his older brother.
Deven's baseball team won their game (first win this season), so he was very excited about that and the coach invited the team to go for ice cream afterwards.
It's another sunny day here in PA.
Love to listen to the birds chirping, and I hear a woodpecker pecking away at a tree.

Cloning myself would be nice sometimes. I always feel bad if we have to split our time between the boys games.

Philippians 4:8-9, Paul writes,
"Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable--if anything is excellent or praiseworthy--think about such things. Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me--put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you."
That verse has kept my mind from going into a "dark hole" during some very difficult times in my life. I love God and I love His Word!

Hello daisyrib, dekrator, marine and all....just sittin' here pretty debilitated and keeping on the meds. Brain is all like mush and it's no picnic.
I have decided to take humaworm and take a stab at the parasite angle while on meds...hope it doesn't kill me!
Some people on here have said it marked a turning point for them, and they felt the antibiotics were not very effective until they started blasting parasites.
I am praying for you all. May Jesus bless your day and fill you with healing, light, peace and the fullness of His love.

Rhody, I do not have any elegant words today, but we all understand how you feel, we have been there or we are there. You say "may He fill you with light and peace and the fullness of His love" Guess what? He does that for you also. Daisy posted a beautiful scripture this morning. Read it Rhody. Read it with the eyes of your heart.
We have so many beautiful scriptuers and writes on God thought, when you can't find God or feel Him, read some of past posts here on God thought and I am quite sure you will begin to feel Him around you. I am praying for you Rhody.
Another daisy thought....Lord God, our hope IS in your unfailing love!

Thank you for sharing from 1 Corinthians and Phillipians.
They are beautiful and comforting verses.
They are some of my favorites and I go back to them often during hard times.
It's so good to have God's promise that He will be with us through anything.
It would be easy for me to slip way into a deep hole sometimes without His word.

Hope, trust, perseverence.
You will get better and I totally believe it!
I can relate to being debilitated...so many of us can....like MDW says, we have been there or are there.
God has set your feet on the healing path.
The path can be very long, windy and have lots of ups and downs, but it comes out at a better place than where you started.
So set your eyes on the destination and you will get there.
God will help you and so will we.

Daisy, you bring big smiles to my face. I remember the first time I heard "Power of your Love," many a month ago last year. It made feel emotional, the beginnings of my journey here on God thought and my baby steps with Jesus. This song remains emotional when I listen. Power of His love...how wonderfully special we are to Him, for Him to give us His loving that only Fathers love can pour out.

Hi MDW...good memory you have. Here is the gospel reading from today:
John 6: 52 - 59
52 The Jews then disputed among themselves, saying, "How can this man give us his flesh to eat?"
53 So Jesus said to them, "Truly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of man and drink his blood, you have no life in you;
54 he who eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.

Those listening to Jesus took what he said literally when they said, "How can this man give us his flesh to eat?"
To eat Jesus' flesh has the spiritual meaning of trusting or believing in Him, especially in His death for the sins of mankind.
Drink His blood means to trust in His atoning death, which is represented by the shedding of His blood.
