God answers prayer!
"Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who seeks finds, and to the one who knocks it will be opened. For which one of you, if his son asks him for bread, will give him a stone?" Matthew 7:7-9
"Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change." James 1:17
Father God, Thank You for hearing our prayers, even the ones that are not spoken but are the desire of our hearts; thank You for Your amazing love and amazing gifts. We love and adore You not just for what You do...but for who You are.
Praying you have a week of many blessings poured out abundantly. Let's count them...one by one...it will amaze us what the Lord has done!

Good morning friends!
I'm going to respond to some of last weeks posts on this new thread.
daisy,
Wow, your Dad still having a garden at age 82! I can't really call mine a garden. I planted 3 tomato plants and 5 of the biggest pepper plants that I started from seed...and they are on the side of our house among the shrubs and plants...lol.
Not sure the peppers will make it...last eve they looked shriveled despite daily watering.
I do love that Beth Moore video about the Hairbrush...sooooo funny but goes right to the heart.
Great verses you shared above. Your prayer of thanks is touching and I will also pray the same thing.
DKat,
I threw all the other little plants away except for some of the little marigolds which I planted in a pot in hopes that they grow fast outside.
I figured at the rate they were growing, we would not even get tomatoes or peppers before we have our first frost in the fall! Our growing season is pretty short...just like yours.
You are industrious to plant a big garden. I can't do all the bending that taking care of a garden requires. My legs are stiff and sore and it is too hard.
I bet all your fresh stuff is sooo delicious...yum! I'll have to go to the farmer's market to get some things.
I remember seeing the laminin video a few years ago. I forgot about it, so I watched it again.....absolutely amazing!!
Praying that everyone reading has a hopeful, thankful day filled with many blessings.

Dearest friends,
I have a few moments to share....umm...let me think a moment of what daisy has written to begin our week...hmm, ok
God has given and continues to give me countless blessings. I, in turn, should give Him many thanks and my praise. I am showered with blessings, not because of anything I have or have not done, but simply because of Him. So when my strength, peace, joy, love and hope may run thin or out... His life rushes in to keep me filled.
Fanny Crosby.... Oh! what a Savior, gracious to all, Oh! how His blessings round us fall, Gently to comfort, kindly to cheer, Sleeping or waking, God is near.
family, have a blessed afternoon. Daisy, guess what?...I am learning what "blessing"/"blessed" means!

Going to hit the hay soon.

Good evening friends!
I love hearing about all of your families, the fun things you're doing (even if you think they're normal), and the things God is teaching you.
Daisy, I echo your prayer at the start of this post. We are so blessed that God listens to our prayers, he knows our needs before we ask, he provides for us, and loves us. It's incredible to think that the God of the universe, the Creator, Alpha and Omega, the "Father of lights with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change", he cares for us!
I listened to that Louie Giglio video on Laminin posted on the other thread last night. Wow. Even our cells are marked and held together by Christ.
Everywhere I look I see God's hand at work.
Last night my cousin had her baby. Tyler was born at 22wks weighing only 1 lb 6 oz. I got to see him today. He was so tiny. So perfectly formed.
I watched him stretch his legs, curl his toes, put his arm up over his eyes, he even felt the blanket with his hand. His skin was pink and shiny, he had silky hair, and fingernails. Just like you'd expect when you saw a normal baby only miniature.
I don't know what God's will is for Tyler, if he will live or struggle or pass over early. I do pray that God will use his life to draw his family to Christ.
I feel so privileged to have been able to see him. He is such a miracle. As are all babies.

sammy, I so agree, that Louis Giglio video is amazing. The Bible says that all things are held together by Christ...and they truly are!
Little Tyler is such a miracle. Oh, Lord God please cause him to continue to thrive and live...for Your honor and glory.
What you share, sammy, sure has me thinking.
It is unfathonable to imagine that the indescrible God loves us soooooooooo much. Truly overwhelming. He sent His Son, Jesus, to die on the cross in our place so that we could have a relationship with Father God!
There is an old sold that says it beautifully...this is part of that song,
"He lives, He lives, Christ Jesus lives today. He walks with me and talks with me Along live's narrow way. He lives, He lives, salvation to impart. You ask me how I know He lives, He lives within my heart."
That's like WOW = Walk On Water
Today, as we walk with God, we can be assured He is walking with us!

Good morning family,
What a beautiful day it is already. I sat outside early this morning reading chronological reading for the day. Ecclesiastes...Lots of wisdom..I so enjoyed reading.
Everything there is a season, A time for every purpose under heaven; A time to be born, A time to die... A time to weep, and a time to laugh; A time to mourne, And a time to dance.
As I look back on my life, I see that each stage of life brings it's own gifts. when we were young, many of us thought we could conquer the world and that nothing coould hurt us. We had the gift of invincibility. we thought we could change people and the world.. Later, in onother stage, the gift is knowledge that we can really only change ourselves. Through changing ourselves, we receive the gift of making a difference.
Whatever stage we are at right now is the perfect place to be. We can finally accept that there are things we cannot change and learn to live with that. By embracing today, by enjoying the stage of life we are in right now, we can bring hope and happiness to those around us.
Thank you for asking about my mother, she is feeling better and stronger each day. I am taking mum to get her nails done today....she is a girly girl. It was fun shaving mother's legs yesterday...we laughed and I only nicked her once.

Wow, MDW you are a deep thinker. I love how you're able to express your thoughts so well. That's very good about life...you're right about thinking super-woman in youth. It is good to let ourselves be changed. God brings peace that way. Every season in life brings wonderful gifts...even in the midst of trials! (The diciples wouldn't have known that the power of the storm was no match for Jesus if they didn't taste the fear of death by sea first. Wow, talk about changing circumstances with one Word!)
Sounds like you'll have fun again today with your Mother...I'm thinking you bring fun where ever you go.
Sammy-I felt peace when reading your write...that's Jesus in you. You have the cup half full for sure. Little Tyler sounds so precious. I pray the Lord continue to incubate him in His healing hand and that Tyler's parents will see God's love.
I'm praying the Lord will continue to touch us bringing healing in every area of our lives. Peace surpassing understanding.

The hymn daisy quoted is called "I serve a risen Savior". There are lots of instrumental versions of the song on youtube but not many with lyrics. I think that the words are most important. I don't like the way this guy sings the song but it was the best I could find:
When I was growing up we sang it at church in more of a celebratory style, upbeat and happy and loud. Imagine it that way.

Dkat and Sammy, thank you so very much for searching and locating. I very much enjoyed. Sammy, Bill Evenhouse sang it alright. I think sometimes me not knowing a song I can appreciate not hearing other versions just so I can listen to the words than the music itself. again thank you....and Dkat I would love to dream of Jesus and awaking to the day the Lord has made for me.
Good night to you all, I am going to sit outside for a bit and meditate.

MDW, I imagine you have quite a bit going on with your parents...may God give you added strength and may His grace be sufficient. My eve was peaceful, thank you.
Enjoyed watching the fireflies. Even wrote a simple poem last night,
The fireflies are everywhere. Darting here and glowing there.
In the yard near the creek. In the grass along the street.
The only bug I even like, Is the tiny fly who shines its light.
Lord Jesus, this is my daily prayer, To shine Your Light...everywhere!
Hey DKat, I've not watched the links yet but I will. I am claiming what you shared for me and everyone else reading this, "I pray the same power that resurrected our Lord from the dead flow through and around you bringing strength and love to share! Be blessed." Oh, AMEN!
sammy, I, too, remember growing up and going to church with my grandma. Good memories of learning that song. It is an oldie but goodie!
This IS the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice in be glad!

Dkat, somehow I missed listening to your other link you had posted. What a lovely song it is,"breath of God," meaning it was to my heart. Thank you. Beautiful words of prayer you shared...felt those also from your heart to mine. You almost brought a tear to my eyes...not nice.
Daisy, smile to you. I so enjoyed your poem. One of the few bugs I like, butterflies and lady bugs are the other ones to bring a smile to my face. "To shine His light everywhere," yes.
Dekrator, I like spaghetti, save me a noodle or two or three, na, two will be fine...don't wanna be greedy. I love your gentle and soothing words from your heart also..." pray you feel Jesus walking with you every step of the way." I pray this for you also friend. Enjoy your time with the littles and may you have a safe trip to Maryland for that grand wedding day.

daisy, You're good....I like that poem.....'specially the part of shing the Light of Jesus everywhere! Plus I really like fireflies.
This time of day is so beautiful....work's done...the birds are singing praises before they go to sleep. Soon the fireflies will be shining their light & after we sleep, the birds wake first to sing praises again! Love it. Want to be like it....singing praises to Jesus before bed...dreaming & meditating on His Word and Light and then awakening to sing His praises again.
Still working on the waking up part...that's usually the sorest part of the day. Praising Him does turn the day around again. Neh. 8:10 "This day is sacred to our Lord. Do not grieve, for the joy of the LORD is your strength.''
Dekrator, Wow a pool party with spagetti...what more could a kid ask for? You sound like a super Gram. Wish we were next door neighbors...it was really hot here until the t-storm. Yep, & no power again at suppertime....but, this time I heard it coming & got my coffee made quickly. Had a chicken roasted from last night so all's good.
MDW, I really like your writes, too. You're right, the prayer is from my heart. We know what each other feels like so we can pray effectively and fervently for each other. That's awesome!!
Been praying for you all & sammy, rhody, tutu, too. After the storm, everything smells so clean & good here. Lord, thank you for holding us through this storm and bringing us through clean and strong to sing your song of victory for all to hear!

DKat, Couldn't help but chuckle at your read. Struck a cord with me when you said, "this tie I heard it coig & got my coffee made quickly." I did the same thing recently when those tornadoes hit Oklahoma. Girl, we do have our priorities right.
WOW! Neh 8:10...beautiful. I'm sure I've read that before, but I don't remember doing so. WOW!
OK, so you remind me of another song...another oldie...Words and music by William and Gloria Gaither,
Jesus, Jesus, Jesus There's just something about that name
Master, Savior, Jesus Like the fragrance after the rain
Jesus, Jesus, Jesus Let all Heaven and Earth proclaim
Kings and kingdoms Will all pass away
But there's something about that Name. (repeat twice)
(ending) Kings and kingdoms Will all pass away But there's something about that Name.
Awww so true, there is just something wonderful about that Name above every name...Oh, Jesus!

It's so good to see everyone here. There's so much I want to say but it is late and I really need to go to bed.
"I'm so glad I learned to trust him, precious Jesus savior friend. And I know that He is with me, will be with me to the end". . .
Please continue to pray for baby Tyler. He needed a blood transfusion today. The doctors said that the "honeymoon phase" is over now.
Hugs, I'll be back tomorrow.

Appreciate the update on Tyler.
Oh, Jesus, may the doctors do what they can do, and may You do what only You can do.
Jesus, You are the Great Physician. Tyler is a miracle baby already. We pray his body, which is so wondrous made, will continue to grow and thrive. Give the doctors wisdom.
You created everything from nothing and there is nothing impossible for You. Praying for a creative miracle from You, Lord God, for Tyler.

Good Morning Lymenetters,
I'm sitting on my porch typing. Glad for wifi.
It is a cool morning. I can hear all kinds of birds singing, lite breeze, a frog has been harassing me (I can't believe I used to pick those ugly things up as a kid). I hear thunder in the distance. Not seen the weather report yet. I am blessed to sit on my porch and enjoy His creation and be blessed by Him.
In today's read through the Bible...so many great verses. Here is one from Psalm 73:25-26,
"Whom have I in heaven but You? And being with You, I desire nothing on earth. My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever."

Good morning friends!!
It's a gorgeous warm and sunny day here in PA!!
MDW,
I would have saved you a noodle or two but here's what happened....
I made the spaghetti early in the day, knowing that I'd be busy later with the boys.
I put each person's portion on a plate figuring I would microwave it when it was time to eat since we would be busy swimming.
My friend from Curves called me and said she was going to exercise right then, so I put the plates of spaghetti (and my rice pasta) in the refrigerator and headed to Curves.
When I got home, I opened the fridge and one of the plates fell and dumped down behind all the shelves and drawers! What a mess that was! I had to take most things out of the fridge and clean it.
Luckily I had some extra spaghetti in a bowl, so I was able to replace the fallen spaghetti without making more....so no noodles for you this time...sorry.
Thanks for the prayer and wishes for a safe trip...same for you dear!
Prayers for your Mom too! Hope she is doing better everyday.

DKat,
I loved your thoughts on singing praises before going to sleep and after awakening.
Thanks for your kind words. I try as a Gram, but it's hard to keep up with 2 young boys.
Good thing my husband can keep up with their desire to play every sport on the face of the earth....lol.
It really cooled off here yesterday after the thunderstorm...from 90's to 70's. The boys still wanted to get in the pool after the storm passed. I heat the water to 90 cause I don't like to be cold.
That would be great if we were neighbors. You could go to yard sales with me cause I get in and out quick and go on to the next...and I'd stop for potty breaks for you.
Today I went to some yard sales and I got 4 Joyce Meyer books for cheap.."I Dare You", "The Confident Woman", "Woman to Woman" and "Approval Addiction".
My parents also lose power alot when it storms. They live in the Pine Creek Valley.
Thanks for your prayers!

Great song lyrics you shared! I can't put a tune to that one.
You are like a God-encyclopedia!!
I love your prayer for Baby Tyler and I pray the same thing.
Your porch sounds lovely and relaxing. I used to pick up frogs and toads too.
After the big PA flood of June 1972...I was almost 12 yrs old...my cousin and I dug worms and nightcrawlers everyday for awhile and sold them to the local gas station/bait shop for the fishermen.
We thought we hit the jackpot! There was so much topsoil displaced near the Creek that we had no trouble finding worms.
Wouldn't want to do that anymore.
Great Psalm verses you shared too! I agree, TGIF!
You also have a great Fri and weekend!

It would be nice if we could all be neighbors. We could join Daisy for coffee on the front porch, float in the pool with Dekrator, go to garage sales together (with lots of stops along the way), help with each others gardens, join MDW's Bible study at church, and we could all go listen to Daisy when she speaks again. It would be lots of fun!
One day we'll be neighbors in Heaven, right
I'm not sure how much I'll be able to stop by this weekend. My sister and her husband are coming to visit. Haven't seen them since Christmas. So I have to help clean and such today.
Dekrator, I hope you have a good trip to maryland and have lots of fun with your loved ones.
I'm thinking of you all and praying for you all! *Hugs*

Thanks sammy! You have a great time visiting with your sister and B-I-L.
I love your itinerary for all of us! That would be soooo much fun if we were all together!
Like you say...we will be neighbors in Heaven someday...we will have so much fun catching up on everything.
Praying you have sufficient energy and feel well when you are busy cleaning.

Good evening all, Just checking in before bed...won't try to type much as I'm too tired to make sense.
Spent most of the day finishing up garden planting. Had to replant a couple things that the whisker faced bunny ate! Did I mention I don't like Bambi or Thumper & families anymore?
Then we put up the little fence around whole garden...I have upper side & Mom/Dad plant lower side. Still have to buy a couple more cabbage to replace the chomped down ones...
Dekrator...you made me laugh (thanks)...that's my kind of junkin....plus your spaghetti story is so funny (cause I didn't have to clean it up).
Sammy~I'm praying for baby Tyler too....& you to be blessed as you help bless your family. & I love the neighbor thought!
daisy...your song brings back great memories of Thurs. nite prayer we did where the Pastor would play guitar as we worshipped together...
Blessing to all...

Checking in before I hit the hay. Whew, it is late.
Dekrator, I have to admit I liked your spaghetti story (did I say that? I mean, sorry it happened). And the twist you made, "no noodles for you this time." Ha! Joyce Meyers is a great encourager. I was able to attend one of her services. She is so real and down to earth. Bet you'll be blessed by the books.
God-encyclopedia? Whoa, that's something to live up to. Thank you. I'm blessed.
sammy, it would be nice to be neighbors. I loved your imaginary get together with all of us.
DKat, You sure were a busy green thumber today. For as much work as gardening is...it sure is relaxing too. You were funny telling Dekrator ""you made me laugh...cause I didn't have to clean it up).
So...I do need to go to bed. Sleep well all. Have a wonderful weekend with some peace, joy, love, and laughs.

Today my read through the Bible had me in Psalm 89. Great read! Following are verses 1-2 in the NIV,
"I will sing of the LORD's great love forever; with my mouth I will make your faithfulness known through all generations.
I will declare that your love stands firm forever, that you have established your faithfulness in heaven itself."
Have a weekend filled with songs of praise for His great love for you (and me)!

Short little bits I post, just know that I have read all, but I'm pooped, okay?, ok.
Sammy I love that song "Tis so Sweet to Trust in Jesus" now it will be stuck in my head again for the day. Praying for Tyler. Enjoy your time with precious sister, I know you have been missing her, may it be a blessed time for the two of you. Catching up is fun I'm sure it could be.
Dkat I like this part that stood out your thoughts.....Praising Him does turn the day around again. Neh. 8:10 "This day is sacred to our Lord. Do not grieve, for the joy of the LORD is your strength.'' Dkat, my grandmum used to plant patunias (sp?) around the veggie gardens, little critters could not stand the smell of the flowers and left the garden alone.
Not sure what "Neh." is so I will look in my bible.
Dekrator so glad I did not have clean the mess in your fridge...I did not get to slirp a single noodle...gosh darn, next time. Im sure you will have a grand time and do share when you get back home "here."
Daisy, All I can do is just smile when I say your name, Daisy Daisy. Nope, no frogs for me either, I do not care for those four legged warts. As long as they stay around the pond thats ok with me. Tho, I do enjoy listening to them sing in the eve with the crickets. I enjoed reading the lyrics to the song and I enjoyed "I will sing of the Lords great love forever"
No plans for today but catching up on some Bible love letters and relaxing. Long trip home for me and my car...yep car needs two new shoes befor I go back and take care of mumzy this next Saturday. Be glad when I can fly again, high altitude(sp?) and pressure hurts my head. So looking forward to church tomorrow. I Know..tomorrow will get here and enjoy today the LORD has made for me.
Good day family

Howdy MDW, Good to see you back.
Books of the Bible can be abbreviated. "Neh" is the abbreviation for the book of Nehemiah. "Ps" is for Psalms. "Gen" is for "Genesis. That idea.
I really like the song you posted. Yeah, I've heard that on KLOVE a few times. I agree, The Lord's Prayer at the end is powerful!
May each of you be encouraged and strengthened by praying this prayer (which I've shared before)
AN EVENING PRAYER FOR RESTORATION
Father God, I thank You for sustaining me today.
I thank You that You are made perfect in my weakness. Your grace is sufficient for me.
I thank You that Your steadfast love never ceases and Your mercies are new every morning.
You say in Your Word that mourning may come for a night, but the new day will bring gladness.
Bless me with a healing night's sleep.
Restore unto me the joy of my salvation. Help me to stay on the path that leads to life.
Prayers from Jordan Rubin's book, "The Makers Diet"

Good eve,
Church was different in a fun way this morn. I missed service last week, so when I showed up, everyone was wearing red. Tent set up on the lawn. I was not sure what was going on. I saw my friend and teacher Harmony and asked her what the special occasion was. She say it is The day of Pentecost. Do I know what this means? My eyes got big because I think I am suppose to know, I believe Dekrator told me, but I can't remember. So I say no. guess what? She gives me a great big hug and says come with me and lets chat.
Pentecost means 50...yeah thumbs up. Plus more but you know.
Anyway, service was held on the lawn today and when service ending prayer was said ... another fun part... ready? yes they released 14 pigeons in the air (we did not have any doves), that was so cool! Ok, hope all have a peacful eve and daisy I will say that prayer you posted this night.

MDW~Your church service sounds fun! Why did they release the pigeons/doves?
I didn't feel up to driving far so went to the church close by. The Pastor was teaching on Pentecost too (I'm thinking most churches did). His main point was when we align ourselves with Jesus Christ and are Spirit filled it isn't just for our selfish excitement.
We are filled with the Spirit to share the Truth. Acts 1:8 But you shall receive power (ability, efficiency, and might) when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you shall be My witnesses in Jerusalem and all Judea and Samaria and to the ends (the very bounds) of the earth.
I'm so thankful for Jesus....because of Him there is hope and victory!
Praying for Dekrator to have safe trip back home. And for you all to be healed and whole.

MDW and DKat...so glad you shared about your church services and Pentecost because my pastor, Pastor Josh did not.
I knew today was The Day of Pentecost...50 days after Jesus rose up in the sky toward heaven and disappeared in the clouds. There were 120 people in an upper room. All of the sudden the very Spirit of God entered the room and filled each one. Must have been an exciting day.
Thank God we do have the Holy Spirit today!
Pastor Josh continued his message in "The Red Letters". It was so good as he preached about the church of Smyrna. The church people were going through so much and Jesus was encouraging them to hang on. That He is the first and the last and He knows all we go through from beginning to end. He is always with us.
Our pastor, I believe, is perhaps the most balanced preacher I've ever heard. His son was in ICU a while back and almost died. Pastor Josh prayed and prayed and battled for his son's life. His son did live.
Actually I say all that to share that Pastor Josh said Jesus always delivers people one of three ways. I will add that this is not what we want to hear...but I've been a Believer long enough and I see that it is the truth.
1) Delivers through miracles. Jesus heals the body. Jesus provides the money. Jesus _______ fill in the blank with those miraculous answers to prayer.
2) Delivers through the situation. A person goes through the situation, the trial, the hard time, and Jesus holds our hand and walks with us all the way through.
3) Delivers through death.
Yeah, well, that last one is not popular to talk about...but that is what I've seen.
Pastor Josh said in a church our size he sees it happen pretty often.......
Anyway, in Smyrna, Jesus told them that some would be thrown in jail by the devil and be tested and literally it reads "suffer for ten days". It doesn't mean a literal ten days. Our pastor said it means that Jesus knows how long it will be BECAUSE HE IS IN CONTROL.
Well, that is good news!
Well, I'm rattling on and on and not sure I'm making any sense.
Regardless of #1, 2, or 3 we KNOW that our God is in control we pray and believe for #1 (at least I do) and leave the outcome to God. We do not give in or give up...we do fight the good fight of faith...through it all.
WOW, didn't mean to say all that.
Blessings all for a great evening and a great week.
Our God is for us, with us, in us and has great plans for us here and there!
