I have been taking a good probiotic for a year sense pulsing on abx.

I switched to VSL #3 on the advice of some here on Lymenet but recently met a man with deep knowledge of good digestive health.

He helped me to re design my eating habits to eliminate sugars and the foods which produce them in the gut.

His advice on Probiotics was straight foreword, Dr. Ohhira's - Probiotics 12 Plus Original Formula.

VSL #3 needs constant refrigeration. If not , the cultures will die and become useless.

I ordered a bottle from CVS and it was in the fridge when I picked it up but I have a hard time believing the truck that delivered it was a cold truck.

The use of the best Probiotic is the most important piece of the antibiotic treatment and I would like some input.

Thanks as always.
Joe

I take custom probiotics and have been very happy with my choice.

if you buy directly from them at their website -vsl3 will ship straight to your house. They pack it in a cooler with ice and ship it fast (i think 2nd day air)

- just so you know

I actually do a combination of Theralac and VSL#3. I've been told you should mix them around a bit anyway and will also toss in one that the LLMD may be trying as well here and there.

But by depending on more than just one, you can keep the VSL#3 in the Refrig and use it at times you might be home and use perhaps something like Therlac when you aren't, although as others have said, we still store it in the Refrigerator. Good luck.

Thanks for the input.

I do not want to walk too far from the path with what works.

So,

My GP told me Florastor is the best on the market. She is a bright woman so if someone out there is familiar with it let me know your opinion.

The probiotics market is becoming huge with folks concerned about all the junk they thought was fine to eat because some rich fool on TV eats it.

now i'm on critical care, vsl, and theralac. that seems to be working.

didn't get ohira to do anything.

My son is 7, and recently diagnosed with Lyme. He had a round of amox. and now is on Zithromax & Rifampin. We drink lots of kefir...at first I was giving him the Probiotic from the dr's office...it was refrigerated and was 25 billion. I wonder now if I should up the probiotics to a higher count even if he's doing a lot of kefir? Any help is great. We are just stumbling along...

get one with lots of strains.
momsickofticks, give your LLMD a call and ask them.
Joe, hard to do staying on the path that works.. lyme's a tight rope for sure.
hope your choices for probiotics are better then mine, i switched to a 2 strain and paid dearly, and lost a month of being on that path that worked. <:
