Good Morning to you this first day of Summer,

On last weeks' God Thought thread so many great comments. WOW! I was so blessed and encouraged.

Dekrator shared this comment, "May everyone sleep peacefully tonight knowing that our God IS in control and He wants the best for us."

I'm going to switch it up a bit,

May everyone have a peaceful week knowing that our God IS in control and He wants the best for us!

That is AWEsome and that is Our Father.

And a verse Psalm 145:3 (NIV),

"Great is the LORD and most worthy of praise; his greatness no one can fathom."

Wow this day is moving too quickly for me.

Daisy wrote some beautiful thoughts some days back. She say, "enjoy your day we have been given, We are not promised tomorrow." Time goes so fast and the next thing we know, it's lights out for the eve. Do you look back over your day and realize, it was mostly, I wish the day to hurry up and be done with?

Barbara Johnson says, "You have to look for the joy. Look for the light of God that is hitting your life, and you will find sparkles you didn't know were there."

Have you experienced that kind of joy? Hopefully so, because it's not enough to hear someone else to talk about being joyfull.
Should you expect to be joy-filled 24 hours a day, seven days a week, from this moment on? No. But you can and should enjoy pockets of joy.

Every day, God gives you cause to rejoice.
Jesus did not promise to change the circumstances around us. He promised great peace and pure joy to those who would learn to believe that God actually controls all things.

Daisy posted an awesome verse, "Great is the LORD and most worthy of praise; his greatness no one can fathom."

--------------------
God's promises mean you always have something wonderful to look forward to.

Good afternoon friends!

sammy,

I agree with what you said at the end of last week's God Thought thread... "God thought friends, thank you for being here to point me towards the light, Christ."

I am also so thankful for my God Thought friends and how you all encourage me to stay the course...fight the good fight...have faith and TRUST God!

That's a beautiful song you posted above. I haven't heard that one before.

daisy,

Thanks for your encouragement, dear friend.

You said at the end of last week's thread..."May God work out all of the details regarding the family situation."

I do trust that He will!!!

My heart sings with joy today knowing that an important relationship was healed before it was too late.

Like the scripture you posted above..."Great is the Lord, and most worthy of praise..."

That's what I've been doing...praising God! [bow]

Hope you get a little time to relax today...it sounds like you are a hard worker.

MDW,

Enjoyed what you shared! Thankfully there are very few days that I want to hurry up and be over.

I can definitely think of times in my life though when that was true.

Now I can see the sparkles so much easier as I really look for the light of God...as you quoted above.

Hope you have a love-filled day with your family!

I was reading on KLove's site and thought of all of us when I read this:

Question: "Why does God allow sickness if he is a God of love?" -- Blake, FL

Answer: The question of why God allows sickness can be a difficult one, especially for those in the midst of suffering.

We have to remember that God, in His love for us, always looks at the end result not just our present circumstances.

Romans 8:28 tells us, "in ALL things God works for the good of those who love Him and have been called according to His purpose."

The Lord never wanted us to live with sickness but because we are fallen people living on a fallen earth, we have to deal with pain.

However, the good news is that through Christ we have the victory.

According to scripture sickness and suffering can be an opportunity to exercise our faith, defeat the enemy and bring glory to God.

The Lord can also use sickness to discipline us, teach us, and draw us or others closer to Him.

For anyone interested, I would highly recommend a book called "If God is Good: Faith in the Midst of Suffering and Evil" by Randy Alcorn.

My pastor told me to get it and I've been slowly reading it over this past year. (I know that's unusually long but there have been times this year where that I visually or cognitively could not read so that's why, it's not boring.)

It's one of those books were you only want to read only a chapter or section at a time because you need time to think, pray, check out extra scripture references, and take it all in.

So if you can, purchase or borrow the book. It will help you understand what the Bible says about suffering, good, and evil, man's role, and God's place in it all.

It has been a real eye-opener for me.

So I have some great news to share with you all tonight, baby Tyler opened his eyes for the first time yesterday! And his mom is now able to hold him. He is 2 weeks old, weighing 1lb 6oz (yay, back up to birth weight!).

I look forward to him being healthy and strong so that we can all hold him and adore him. Thank you all for praying with me for him and his family.

MDW, So glad you stopped in while out of town. Barbara Johnson is so funny. Hmmm I'm going to have to check out YouTube and see if there are videos of her. Sure hope you're having lots of family fun time.

sammy, Like the song link you posted. Great report about Tyler. Oh, WOW! I can't imagine 1 lb 6 oz...he is some fighter that little guy. Must have been thrilling when he opened his eyes...and holding him. Awwwww! Praise the Lord!

Randy Alcorn is a great author. Thanks for sharing about that book. I'd like to read it. I read his book, "Heaven". It was wonderful, and also very different and refreshing. Lots of scriptures supporting what he shared. I read that book slow too. So much to "digest".

Dekrator, Interesting thoughts about sickness, faith, healing. it is amazing how God does use/and makes things work together for good for those who love Him. I've experienced that myself again and again and again.

Beautiful Psalm and fits the recent posts. All 23 verses are awesome! We ARE so blessed by our God!!!

Psalm 103, (New Living Translation"
A psalm of David.

1 Let all that I am praise the Lord;
with my whole heart, I will praise his holy name.

2 Let all that I am praise the Lord;
may I never forget the good things he does for me.

3 He forgives all my sins
and heals all my diseases.

4 He redeems me from death
and crowns me with love and tender mercies.

5 He fills my life with good things.
My youth is renewed like the eagle's!

6 The Lord gives righteousness
and justice to all who are treated unfairly.

7 He revealed his character to Moses
and his deeds to the people of Israel.

8 The Lord is compassionate and merciful,
slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love.

9 He will not constantly accuse us,
nor remain angry forever.

10 He does not punish us for all our sins;
he does not deal harshly with us, as we deserve.

11 For his unfailing love toward those who fear him
is as great as the height of the heavens above the earth.

12 He has removed our sins as far from us
as the east is from the west.

13 The Lord is like a father to his children,
tender and compassionate to those who fear him.

14 For he knows how weak we are;
he remembers we are only dust.

15 Our days on earth are like grass;
like wildflowers, we bloom and die.

16 The wind blows, and we are gone--
as though we had never been here.

17 But the love of the Lord remains forever
with those who fear him.
His salvation extends to the
children's children

18 of those who are faithful to his covenant,
of those who obey his commandments!

19 The Lord has made the heavens his throne;
from there he rules over everything.

20 Praise the Lord, you angels,
you mighty ones who carry out his plans,
listening for each of his commands.

21 Yes, praise the Lord, you armies of angels
who serve him and do his will!

22 Praise the Lord, everything he has created,
everything in all his kingdom.

Let all that I am praise the Lord.

MDW ~ Praying for you. I'm so sorry you're feeling pain (again). May the Lord lift you by His side and wipe away every trace of pain and heal you! May His light continue to shine through you to your loved ones...

My son & I just saw the penguin movie, too. It was fun.

sammy ~ great news about baby Tyler! Holding him and seeing his tiny eyes open must've been wonderful. May this be the beginning of many more great things for this little warrior.

daisy ~ great Psalm & I like the NLT. 103:12 He has removed our sins as far from us as the east is from the west. I've heard the east never touches the west....I'm so thankful.

I've got iTunes playing worship music in the background.....MWSmith's 'Hold On Help is on the Way' is playing. Good song for us.

Good Evening Friends,

Thought I'd check in before I hit the hay. Awww as always blessed by your posts.

Isn't that strange how that happens, you hear something, read something (like Psalm 103) and then it shows up again?! Must be God's thoughts. He wants us to know "something" about Him.

Our God is so very amazing!

payne, what a great idea. so 7PM eastern time? say prayers. OK, great! Our God really does hear and answer prayers!

My husband and I went walking around the River Walk in OKC (it ain't no San Antonia) we had a wonderful time. Were downtown a couple of hours. It was so nice with the breeze. I'm not saying it was cool! Ha! We yacked, and yacked, and yacked!!! Really enjoy that. I even take turns. [lol]

Anyway, we walked by a movie theatre and I noticed the Jim Carey Penguin movie was playing. Have to see if it will work out for me to take my grandson. It's been so long since I was at a real movie theater. Sounds fun. Unfortunately, I really like their popcorn!!! [bonk] [dizzy] [loco] [lol]

OK, so obviously I'm tired...as I'm sooo silly.

Guess, I better close. I'll see you all tomorrow, Lord willing.

Sleep good with the body's natural healing abilities and God's touch.

Good Morning,

One of my favorite authors is Roy Lessin. He is co-owner of DaySpring cards and gifts. He also has a blog, "Meet Me in the Meadow". MDW, shares his blog from time to time.

Here is an excerpt from yesterday...I thought this was so good,

"(If what you're seeking is moving you away from God's heart, why pursue it?)

Lord, I turn my back to all that would turn me away from You. I come to You, I run to You, I press in to know You more and to lay hold of the purpose of why You laid hold of me."

Praying everyone has a good day with God's peace and presence. May you sense His amazing love for you!

Good morning friends!

MDW,

So happy to hear you are having a great time and making good memories!

I really enjoyed reading Meet Me In the Meadow.

The excerpt that daisy shared is so powerful.

daisy,

The RiverWalk sounds so nice. I can almost see it from your description....what a great evening!

Last eve we took our grandsons to a local park. It was fun eating, playing games, going on rides, then they had ice cream before we left.

I love to see the joy on their faces and in their hearts. They often say "love you" [kiss] which always does a heart good.

Said a prayer for everyone. I pray daisy's prayer for everyone today also.

Hi family,

I am almost in Pennsylvania with all the running I have been doing today. Dekrator, hard to keep up with you friend, pants fell to my kness and had to call it quits. You beat me on that "run" thing you do. Catch you next time for that cup of coffee.

daisy it sounds like you had a wonderful walk enjoying the time with hubby. Sometimes those moments of one on one are the bestest quality of joy a heart longs. You still in a silly mood? You!? a chatter box..hee hee I would have mighten guessed that.

I agree with you, Roy Lessin is one of my favorites, cause I understand his writes, they make meaning for me without complicating God.
The excerpt?... can I just say cert (minty fresh) that stood out was the one you posted and this one....

If God has told you to go, why hold back?)

Lord, where You send me I will go--thankfully, wholly, speedily, contentedly, peacefully, joyfully, lovingly.

Good day my friends.

Good Morning Friends,

TGIF! Thank God It's Forever!

Praying everyone has a good day. Our God is good all the time and all the time our God is good.

I have a prayer request.

I have been symptom free for almost a month.

Then last weekend when I was outside with our grandson I got bit by something. I did not see the something. At the bite site a red bump developed. A few days later a small bulls-eye rash developed around it.

You know the symptoms: tired, sore neck, body aches and pains, yada, yada, yada. Thank God I am not in yikes mode. My mind has been pretty clear (so that is really good).

I know I will be fine. I will continue on Dr. J (KS) protocol...but kick everything up a notch or two or three. [Big Grin]

I do believe that I will be fine and that God will totally heal me. Looking forward to being symptom free soon. Thank you for your prayers.

I am praying for you all too. 7PM nightly! Let's do this!!! The Lord is listening!!!

daisy,

So sorry to hear that you got bitten by something and are not feeling so well.

I will pray for you, for total healing and a feeling of complete confidence and peace.

Our Great Physician will respond to your needs.

I will try to remember to pray at 7 pm too.

Often we are in the middle of a ballgame, soccer game, or something with our grandsons at that time, but if I forget, I will pray later.

daisy ~ I'm agreeing with our God-thought family in prayer for you. I know what you're going through. Our God is bigger than even this.

Makes me think of when Paul went through a huge storm at sea and ended up on an island. He was helping with the fire when a viper latched onto his hand.

Everyone around thought 'oh, man, this guy must be really bad 'cause God zapped him.' But then they watched and nothing happened.

Change of mind time.....this guy must be a god! Wow! He's not even sick from this bite!

It was neither sin nor a man-god. God allowed this to get their attention. Now when Paul talked, they listened. So many were healed and believed.

Dear Lord, Thank you for your glory and Truth. Thank you for providing the way for us to be healed in every way. We are asking again for daisy to be totally healed and blessed and that you will pour your Living Water through her to bless all those you bring to her life. Thank you for the honor to pray this through Jesus' name. Amen.

Acts 28 1 Once safely on shore, we found out that the island was called Malta. 2 The islanders showed us unusual kindness. They built a fire and welcomed us all because it was raining and cold. 3 Paul gathered a pile of brushwood and, as he put it on the fire, a viper, driven out by the heat, fastened itself on his hand. 4 When the islanders saw the snake hanging from his hand, they said to each other, ``This man must be a murderer; for though he escaped from the sea, the goddess Justice has not allowed him to live.'' 5 But Paul shook the snake off into the fire and suffered no ill effects. 6 The people expected him to swell up or suddenly fall dead; but after waiting a long time and seeing nothing unusual happen to him, they changed their minds and said he was a god.
7 There was an estate nearby that belonged to Publius, the chief official of the island. He welcomed us to his home and showed us generous hospitality for three days. 8 His father was sick in bed, suffering from fever and dysentery. Paul went in to see him and, after prayer, placed his hands on him and healed him. 9 When this had happened, the rest of the sick on the island came and were cured. 10 They honored us in many ways; and when we were ready to sail, they furnished us with the supplies we needed.

Daisy! I think I would break down and cry if I saw a bull's eye on my skin. You are a strong woman. I'll be joining with you and all our God thought friends in prayer. I want you to be well. Look forward to being able to rejoice with you in your healing [Smile]

Isn't that an exciting thought? I do look forward to rejoicing with all of you as God works his healing touch in our lives.

Speaking of healing, I have a red bellied woodpecker friend that needs your prayers tonight.

I was on my way home from my acupuncture appt when I saw him sitting, stunned, on the side of the road. Poor guy must have hit a car. He was sitting on the painted line on the side of the road. I couldn't leave him there because I knew he'd get run over.

He didn't move at all when I went to pick him up (not a good sign). I was prepared to throw my jacket on him if he tried to flop or hop into the road. Luckly I had an empty box in my car that I could put him in to keep him safe.

He's sleeping in my bedroom right now, in his box, on a heating pad. He'll go see a wild bird rehabilitator tomorrow morning (I already spoke with her on the phone). She will check him out and if he's OK we'll let him go. If he needs medical care, she'll keep him until he's well.

He's such a beautiful bird. One of my favorites. I hope he makes it.

Oh, I love animals. Can you tell? [Smile]

sammy ~ I'm so glad you stopped for the woodpecker. I've held stunned chickadees in my hands in the winter after they've hit the window. After they warm up, away they go...

Amazing how God knows when a sparrow falls. Since they're thought by some to be noisy, dirty birds and God cares for them....how much more will He care for us....even when we're noisy & dirty.

MDW ~ Thank you for your prayers...it helps to know.

Lord, please bless and shelter us as we sleep. Thank you for never sleeping but always watching and loving us. May every breath draw us closer to you until we're dancing in your glory.

DKat,

I was truly blessed to read what you shared about Paul and the viper, and Acts 28.

You have a gift for making the word interesting and exciting....love that!!

I am praying for both you and daisy for complete healing from your recent bites/symptoms.

sammy,

I never thought I'd be praying for a woodpecker but there's a first for everything...lol.

I often hear one around here pecking away..they are beautiful birds.

Hope it will be ok. You are a wonderful, caring soul.

Tomorrow will be a very busy day...not sure I'll be able to post, but I'll be thinking of everyone and praying.

I'll be out yard sale-ing in the morning, then traveling 1 3/4 hrs to a baby shower for my niece....love all that cute baby stuff.

Praying for everyone tonight...MDW, hope you are having decreased pain dear.

sammy,

Has accupuncture helped you? and if it has, how has it helped you? Pain and stiffness are my bothersome symptoms.

Good Evening,

MorningSong, It is so good to see you on God Thought! Pray things are going well with you. Appreciate your prayers for me.

Everyone appreciate your prayers. I took a nice nap this afternoon and am feeling better. Hubby and I walked around the block tonight. I have peace and thank God for each of you and your prayers!

Dekrator, Have a wonderful time tomorrow...I know you'll enjoy the baby shower. How fun!

sammy, OK, so I'm picturing "He's sleeping in my bedroom right now, in his box, on a heating pad..." That is one lucky bird. [Big Grin] So...I too, just said a prayer for your woodpecker. They are beautiful birds. It's amazing to watch them peck on a tree and hear that loud noise; you'd think it would mess with their brains. God sure made them in an amazing way. Keep us posted.

DKat, that was a great devotional write. And I say, "AMEN!" too.

Yes, I will rest well tonight friends. And that is my prayer for all of you.

Thank you all for praying for my woodpecker friend [Smile]

He was much more lively this morning. He actually started pecking on his box! I was happy to hear it because it was like he was saying "hey, I'm ready to go, get me out of here!".

The bird rehabilitator gave him a clean bill of health so I took him back to the area where I picked him up yesterday.

He was so beautiful. He paused to let me admire him before flying out of the box, across the field, and into the trees.

It felt so good to be able to see him healthy and strong.

I'm sure God smiled too.

MDW, Beautiful song you posted. I have always loved "Fairest Lord Jesus". Beautiful words. Beautiful tune.

Yes, Jesus,

"Thee, will I cherish.
Thee will I honor.
Thou my soul's glory, joy, and crown." [bow]

Thanks for the prayers. I had good rest last night. A nice nap this afternoon. Been taking it easy. Ready to go to bed soon. Ha!

sammy, I am so glad to read about the woodpecker. Makes me chuckle when I read, "He actually started pecking on his box!" He is free and well now!

I am reminded of Matthew 10:29-31, "What is the price of two sparrows--one copper coin? But not a single sparrow can fall to the ground without your Father knowing it. And the very hairs on your head are all numbered. So don't be afraid; you are more valuable to God than a whole flock of sparrows."

OR a whole flock of woodpeckers! [bow]

Lymenet Friends, we are valuable to God.

Good Night, sleep well. [group hug]

Good afternoon everyone!

I had a really fun time at my niece's baby shower yesterday.

All those cute little baby things are so fun to look at.

Babies are a real blessing from God!

When I got home last eve I developed chills.

I thought maybe I was just really cold, since it was no more than 70 degrees at the warmest yesterday and very breezy.

I tried warming up with a hot shower, but I had chills even in the hot shower.

I decided just to lie down and rest and pray it went away.

Started to take my temp and found the battery dead in my thermometer...but I'm sure I must have had a fever.

This morning I no longer had chills but was weak, tired and having more pain than usual.

Went to church at 8 am and came right home to lie down.

Slept for 2 hrs and felt better.

Now I have chills again.

Could you say a little prayer for me?....thanks.

[group hug]

I am praying for everyone....hoping and praying that daisy, DKat, MDW, sammy, payne, morningsong and all other God Thought friends and lymenet friends are feeling God's peace and experience complete healing.

Thank you, sammy! Really appreciate the prayers.

I keep taking ibuprofen and 6.5 hrs later the chills return like clock work when it wears off.

I am fatigued and weak and having more head and neck pain than usual.

I think I may be herxing from a new abx I started 2 1/2 weeks prior to the start of the chills.

But, it's hard to say for sure.

I'm just resting and I do have alot of books here that I could read.

Thanks again, and hope all my God Thought friends are having a good and hopeful day.

Good Evening,

I have had a good day. Been busy since waking up...good busy. Yes, a hope-filled day!

Dekrator, Still praying for God's healing touch to be upon you. Praying you get some good rest tonight. All that rest I've been getting has helped me.

God sure made the body in amazing way...when we sleep, our body focuses its energy on healing.

Reminds me of a verse in my favorite Psalm--139.

"I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
Marvelous are Your works,
And that my soul knows very well" (verse 14).

And with that I'll go ahead and start the new God Thought thread for the week.
