I wonder what time.
We don't need new leglislation we need the CDC and NIH to stop with the positon the disease is over reported and over treated. They need to realize it is a persistent infection and the kempler study was flawed from the get go.
The CDC still sticks to Steeres restrictive diagnosis requirement for a reason and this allows the ISDA to piggy back it.

Unfortunately the article at the bottom stated that Lyme Disease is easily cured with a few weeks of antibiotics. That may be true if caught in the first few weeks, but I don't think that's what people who are misdiagnosed for months to years are experiencing.

Even if caught in the first few weeks, it is still very difficult to cure for some people. I started treating mine 2 days after I started having symptoms, and I've been treating this for months now. Dang.

I think if you don`t treat the bite your in trouble. Waiting for signs may be too late since it can take 3 - 30 days...a lot can happen in 30 days

I'm with James - I started amoxicillin immediately after a tick bite and 2 months later was deathly ill anyway. My former HMO used this against me - "You received more than enough treatment for Lyme disease. You don't have Lyme. You have conversion disorder because you subconsciously don't want to care for your kids."
Insulting, idiotic - and still haunting my medical records 8 years later.

Lymelady - the phrase used in my records was "undetermined amount of functional overlay" and I had no idea, as I collected my records and gave them to yet another doctor that that was a baaaaaddd phrase!
Meaning undetermined other nonillness reasons as to why I could be complaining. Like, who wants to live their life, anyway?
Life, schmife, big deal, might as well loll around and visit every medical office you can...nothing better to do, obviously.
Now that I'm thinking about it again, the phrase should be "dysfunctional overlay," as in what happened to us!
When I found out I had Lyme, I went back to all the places I'd been to, and ordered them to update my charts, including putting in a written statement of mine that I had been sick and not malingering!
