i got two books, fit for life I and II, and i have great taste no pain books.

now in the great taste book they do the food combining, like don't combine break with eggs, etc., fruit with meat, etc.

but in the food for combining, they combine potatoes with meat, etc., which the other book says is a big no no.

so which one works better. great taste says no sugar, caffeine, etc., food combining says you can have all sorts of stuff together.

so i'm a little confused.

"great taste says no sugar, caffeine, etc., food combining says you can have all sorts of stuff together."

I'm confused too. Which book has the food combining?? I thought you said the Great Taste was the food combining??

And what did you say is not to be combined with eggs???

I think she meant no bread with eggs?

At least that is my guess! [Smile]

great taste/no pain is by sherry brescia. and she says you can have eggs for breakfast but only with tea or vegetable. if you have say bread, you cna't have anything else, same with fruit.

but in the food combining diet books which i just got they combine stuff, like meat with potatoes, which sherry says carrots and potatoes can't be eaten with meat.

this is allll sooo confusing.

sherry lists columns a, b c and you can't combine a with c, but with b. you'd have to read it.

i think once you get the hang of it, it would be ok, but the food combining seems to have more items in it than sherry does. like the food combining uses sauces and all, sherry doesn't.

so sherry's book actually is a version of food combining, just a different kind i guess.

That doesn't make sense with what I did when food combining. It was the no carbs with proteins (OK, no BREAD with eggs, etc) and nothing with fruit. And no meat with potatoes as you said.

That does work.

that is very interesting. Is the food combining lyme friendly? I am really struggling trying to eat the right things. Sometimes it seems like after I eliminate what I cannot have - well then there isn't anything left...or so it seems.

Can you actually eat bread on this diet? I have been avoiding breads and sugars...and I miss them.

This sure is a learning experience.

With food combining you can eat anything you want. Just you can't eat it together with something else you want! [Smile]

Yes it is very Lyme friendly. It strengthens every system in the body, including the immune system. It greatly lowers the toxin load and also decreases inflammation. It is also restorative on hormones, and helps prevent blood-sugar problems. The benefits are endless.

Yes, you can eat all the bread you want on the food combining diet. It's better of course if the bread is whole grain.

The only thing to keep in mind is that, if you are taking abx, the anti-candida diet is very helpful.

Proper food combining is easy.

Proper food combining + anti-candida diet + gluten free = Shoot me.

That's what is so good about it. You don't have to be hungry.

Lexalou... you will need to be careful on the white foods if you are on antibiotics. Yeast can still get you!!!

JAMES - "Proper food combining + anti-candida diet + gluten free = Shoot me"

Dang it. I was happy reading what you wrote about the "eating anything" part...that is until I got to the last sentence and then my heart sunk!!! LOL

LYMETOO - I hear you. NO white foods for me. I do have a couple gluten free crackers and pretzels every now and then. I forgot about that - Is that bad?

I'm supposed to do "anti-candida diet + gluten free + casein/dairy free". The hardest part is figuring out how to do this at work. What do you haul to work? ugh.

I should clarify:
Although the "food combining + gluten free + anti-candida diet" sucks big time, the "eat-whatever-you-feel-like diet" sucks harder because then you'll feel super sick and you'll stay sick for a much longer period of time.

Jenifer - I think one of the best foods for these diets is nuts. Almonds, walnuts, brazil nuts, etc. These are super easy to carry around, they store well, and they're very healthy. Cashews aren't as healthy, but they're good to eat when you really feel like having a special treat.

Another solution is to bring boiled eggs with you. Thesa are also super nutritious and they're easy to carry around.

Peace.
